"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"gets more up than my manual vacuum does ... If you get one, try vacuuming yourself. Then run it, and see how much it collects. At least with a dog it was shocking how much was still there to be picked up…."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

We use a Roomba and a shark. We wanted to replace the Roomba but evidently my likes to have two robot vacuums.

I hate out Roomba, which is why we wanted to replace it. The shark is a ur2360 matrix. I like it but she runs it most of the time. She complained the mapping only did squares and not odd shapes. I like the lidar rather than running into everything. We have the base for both. eta: I looked at the subreddit I was in and thought I would also add that I don't have the Roomba nor the shark connected to my home assistant because she runs it most of the time and she doesn't use the home assistant, so I'm not sure how the integration is.

I got a shark with lidar and self emptying on sale for $120 (doesn’t mop)… it replaced a very early model Roomba where the new battery was going to be about the same price, and it’s much better in every way. You can get pretty decent pretty cheap.

The one I got is a Shark UR2360S. Looks like it's about $250 new checking now, but if you're willing to play the Amazon renewed game (ie. just send it back if it's not like-new) they sell for $99 and the first one I got was perfect/untouched. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYHHPZHD I had a few others close to $200 in my short list that were similar but that one seemed like the best value, and wasn't a complete no-name. No issues so far, it maps pretty well, gets more up than my manual vacuum does, etc -- although the Shark API (if you want to control it with your own home automation) is an epic PITA if you care about that. Regardless, I'm sold on self-emptying now...so much better, and easier to not fuss with. Might be moving to a two-story soon, and if so, I'll just get a 2nd of the same.

I have the shark from Costco , it works fine. About 1 time a week you need to clean out the hair that accumulates in the robot. That said it works well. Get the one with the AI mapping of your home and the 30 day bin. ( said bin will be full of fur every week ) ( my robot would go around napping dog and come back later )

r/RobotVacuumsWhat robot vacuum should I buy?

I have 3 dogs. I just bought my first robot vacuum. I got the shark matrix plus . I honestly didn't expect a lot. Little guy is amazing. Does a great job with edges. Gets all the fur and mops too. I caught a sale got it for $200 . It navigates under my 8 seat dining table beautifully. I don't have carpet have tile and wood and it's great. It does a good job with my rugs too but I do.tuck the tassells under for the one rug with tassels.

I recently got the Shark Matrix Plus at Costco for about 300. It vacuums, mops, avoids rugs, and mapping was really easy. I absolutely love it. Some people do say it’s loud, but we have 5 cats, 4 dogs, and 3 kids, so noise isn’t even really noticeable. This thing has our floors looking better than ever, and it has cut our daily cleaning and Sunday chores down drastically. It looks like I deep clean the house every day. Highly recommend it.

r/RobotVacuumsSo... Can robovac actually deep clean? If so, which one?

I've got a Shark something-or-other that has a "matrix clean" function (Dreame does something similar, I think) where after it finishes an area/room, it goes back and does it again running perpendicular to the run it just finished. I don't have any idea about the *actual* efficacy, but my spouse ("it's not vacuumed until you've gone over the same spot in 3 different directions") ***loves*** it. Since 'perception is reality', our carpets are cleaner because my spouse perceives them to be so.

r/smarthomeAre robot vacuums that vacuum and mop at the same time actually worth it?

I bought a refurbished Shark Matrix robot vacuum/mop for $99 on Woot. I haven’t used the mop yet but the vacuum feature is awesomeness!

I use a Shark Matrix. It self empties and has a lot of features for its price point. It uses both bumpers and LiDAR to navigate around and vacuums up GSD and Lab fur really well.
