"The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts"

"I've used it daily for at least 10 years now, probably closer to 15 and apart from the fact you need to clean it periodically, it's still works like brand new."

"One huge leg up for a Shark over Roomba is that the brush roller is similar to a vacuum (e.g. hard plastic), whereas the roomba is a plastic roller with a rubber cover that is DESTROYED by dog fur and you have to frequently replace."

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"it mapped the house really well. ... Turns out it will still get areas when I move furniture anyway. We got rid of a loveseat after the house map was completed and I told it to run the next day. It got the new empty area with no problem."

"It maps well! Many don't."

"Mine maps and shows you the actual map of everything in the room including the obstructions like furniture."

"Its a mostly fine robot but not a fan of their mapping software. ... The basic and simple and frustrating issues with the Narwal software have been there now for well over a year. ... Issues like mapping open concept spaces and having easy to use and manipulate split and merge lines have been solved years ago by other companies like Roborock and by Dreame. ... There is no excuse that Narwal - who has most definately been made aware of these issues long ago - has either chosen to ignore fixing 'merge/split' options (and more) or the current team is incapable of doing so. ... As a homeowner with a large open concept layout their mapping software is crap and pretty much renders using their robot useless unless I want to compromise how I use a Narwal. ... Something that is not an issue with Roborock or Dreame or Mova (and probably others also). ... So if a home has basically traditiona wall spaces.Sure. Narwal is great. If the layout is open concept. Then....Narwal no."

"splitting rooms or modifications to the map also has some quirks that annoy me so much."

"it ignores my no go zones"

"Oh yeah, the 30 day bin does not apply to shepherd and husky owners in any way shape or form!!"

"The claim of 30-days before emptying is BS, as that’s based on a non pet hair household. ... I auto run it 3 times a week and empty maybe 1-2 times a week."

"The dust bin also needs to be emptied every week, not 30 days like advertised."

"Sick and tired of the Q5+ sucking up my toddlers socks"

"everytime I turn it on it says "error 2 bumper stuck" ... I tried to fix it but no luck. ... It is useless now and I feel scammed."

"the one that worked great started doing something similar -- runs about one minute then stops and starts beeping."

"If it doesn't get run at least once a day, the roller brush will get clogged."

I currently have the Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum (UR235BCDUS) and I have been extremely pleased with its performance for the price. For only 80$ used off ebay, I have gotten at least 2 years of use out of it on carpet and recently hardwood with no major issue. With the introduction of Hardwood floors throughout my house, I have thought about looking at a mopping alternative/upgrade. I am looking used in my area so just trying to get some ideas on upgrade paths I can look into. I would love the unit to be: \- Full Docking Station with Clean/Dirty Water and Dustbin \- Bagless Dust Bin \- Some type of self-cleaning of the Mop feature \- Decent App/App Feature Set Would love some thoughts n opinions. If this isnt the right sub/post structure, pls lmk

Not worried about budget currently. Just testing the waters with what folks actually use. I really like the bagless design on my Shark Matrix. I have a dog that sheds enough that may make the bag replacement cost stack up really fast. Another small pro is that it makes it incredibly easy to empty. It seems like Shark is the only company with bagless offerings. If that limits the pool too much, maybe ill need to do further research on the bag cost long term..

we bought a shark self emptying (rv140) a few years ago from lowe’s and it’s been one of the best purchases we’ve made for our house. we have a german shepherd and she sheds all the time. this robot vac has kept up with the dog hair and kept our floors clean for 3 1/2 years now with no issues. we run it daily only on our hardwood floors downstairs. highly recommend.

Shark matrix - 10000 pa - no mop - less than 200 on Amazon with a 30 day dustbin. Thank me later 💯

It's the suction rating on the product description. Although some people believe the pa rating might be skewed or inaccurate from lab tests vs at home tests. What I can say is I bought it and it's amazing

I had  original roombas for many years.   Saw a deal end of 2024 on Woot for refurbished Shark Matrix self emptying robotic vacuums.   Since then 7 friends and family have done the same  All are very happy,   great deal at $100-$t50.    My Aussie and I both shed a lot, it goes from carpet to tile and cleans throw rugs.     Last time I saw them on Amazon for about the same price

Shark matrix self-emptying. I like it because I can schedule it to run every evening. It’s moves from hard floor to rugs easily

I went through 4 different robot models, two of the i4 and two of the i7. All 4 eventually stopped charging or had other issues. Been using Shark Matrix Self cleaning for months no issues.

What vacuum is this? I’ve been trying difference vac/mop robots I just had the Shark matrix clean and it was terrible would just leak water everywhere when “mopping” was only good as a vacuum but this one looks like it did an amazing job. I also have a carpet in my living room which send the robot for a loop. It wouldn’t know what to do. Sometimes mopping the carpet or skipping it altogether lol.

r/greatpyreneesDo you guys have any robot vacuum success stories?! Or bad ones?

Fail. The tail furs are too long and strong and the roller kept snapping. I had the pet model too. Gave it away and have been happier with the Dyson and a handheld

r/homemakingThe best robot vacuum on the market right now that you swear by?

Well it's definitely not the BEST robot vacuum, because I'm a little on the cheap side and I don't have to have the best thing, but I really like my shark vacuum because they have a patented "lint roller" that keeps pet hair and string from getting tangled or building up on the roller. It's the lidar kind with the self empty base. The self empty base is a must have imo. Running this daily keeps the pet hair tumbleweeds from taking over the house. Doesn't do great on carpet though.
