"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"Get one that fills, empties, and cleans itself. You’ll only have to touch it maybe once a month."

"the only robot vacuum that didn’t clog or burn out was the self emptying shark one ... it’s been going three years strong."

"both of ours are Shark and they work great for the price point. ... that thing is great for the price point. We've had it 2 years so far."

"it works ok and does the job - it’s definitely not as premium but that wasn’t a criteria. I just wanted something that wasn’t going to break."

"Where they have never done a great job is on Oriental Rugs. ... The golden hair just kind of balls up or gets stuck on the edge. ... Ran it last night on a rug that hadn't been hit in a week or so and it actually looked worse when I woke up because so much hair was brought to the edges."

"I have also had issues where there have been spots that looked "missed" and when I've looked at the app's map I've found the missed spot was exactly the shape and size of my large male golden retriever. ... So if he's feeling lazy he will literally lay there and let it run into him repeatedly and not get up."

"Doesn't do great on carpet though."

Of course! [This](https://www.sharkclean.com/products/shark-powerdetect-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-and-mop-with-nevertouch-pro-base-zidRV2820ZECA) is the one I use! I’ve used Shark for years! And when my other Shark robot stopped working out of warranty, they didn’t hesitate to send me a brand new one. They’re life savers for me!

It has separate tanks on the robot and the base… dirty water never touches clean water… my floors are not getting mopped with dirty water….

Since you love Shark already, I'm not sure what model Shark you were looking at, but there is definitely a model called "Never Touch" that is self emptying and has water reservoirs and everything. On Amazon it's the AV2800ZE.

We just bought this and I wish we had gotten it sooner… before we had to sweep multi times a day due to pets. Shark Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo, PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro, Self-Emptying, Self-Refill with Self-Clean Pad Wash & Dry, 60-Day Capacity, 30-Day Refill Tank, RV2820ZE (Renewed)

r/RobotVacuumsBest Robot Vac & Mop for Dirt Roads + Kids + Ragdoll Cat?

I might catch some flack here but if you expect to empty the base station very frequently then I would look into the shark powerdetect lineup. We had the nevertouch pro and were satisfied overall with its performance. Vacuuming it was extremely good, almost as good as our current Dyson robot. The Dyson is just slightly better on rugs/carpets with pet hair. But for larger debris and small pieces of paper the shark was better. Dirt and dust both are almost equal. The auto empty was just decent. The shark was decent enough for mopping to keep the floor maintained till we did a manual mopping but the lack of water flow control and hot air drying was disappointing. But I know the robot/app has updated so the flow control could have changed. The filter for the actual robot will need to be cleaned every 1-2 weeks because the robot vacuums really good, I can’t stress that enough. On hard floors it was as exceptional and never left a piece of cat litter in between the wood planks. Worth looking them up on vacuum wars and justadad.

Our shark powerdetect nevertouch pro was amazing with cat litter. It has its flaws but that thing was a beast on hard floors for vacuuming. And the mopping was decent enough. It also has a bagless self empty design.

r/RobotVacuumsPlease let me know if this is a good choice

I believe it’s basically the powerdetect nevertouch pro but could be wrong. The mop pad won’t dry fast due to using cool air for drying and the obstacle avoidance isn’t that great for small items like cords. I had the nevertouch pro and returned it. But it does a good job of vacuuming and mopping. Just know the app is buggy and has little options for the robot. I have the newer thermacharged and it’s marginally better than the nevertouch pro at this point in time.

The shark powerdetect nevertouch pro is bagless and has a mop. We had one and it was very good. But not worth more than $650.00.

Shark AV2820S. We had the unit that mopped. This robot is extremely good at vacuuming hard floors and removing cat litter from grout lines. One of our cats was bad at kicking out litter and this robot never failed to vacuum it up.

Shark Never Touch Pro 2in1 has a flat pad it wiggles side to side to mop. It also cleans and dries the mop pad.

A Mova P10 Pro Ultra for all intents and purposes is a Dreame X40/L40 flagship model vacuum at $500 right now. You can’t beat it. Can take a look at my post history for choices I narrowed down basically I felt like all the features I want in a vacuum should be included sub $600. QRevo Pro Ecovacs N30 Pro Omni Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Adding: Mova P10 Pro Ultra On paper there isn’t another vacuum on the market with the advanced features of the Mova at the price. The navigation and object avoidance alone should put it in another class. It has swinging arm swinging mop and a camera… if privacy becomes a concern for me valetudo is supported. Currently I have the N30 Pro Omni I picked up for $550 and it does a nice job cleaning however it keeps getting disconnected from my app and I have to reconnect it this wasn’t happening with the Shark Never Touch Pro although the sharks mopping performance wasn’t half as good for $200 more. If the Ecovac was more stable I’d have probably never looked into exchanging it but glad I found the Mova considering the feature set it has. I’m going to report back once it arrives to see if it lives up to the hype.

r/RobotVacuumsRoborock S5 Max dying, bought a Shark as backup. The app is horrendous.

I've had my Roborock S5 Max since its launch in 2019, and for most of its life it was an absolute champ. It would clean my entire house and still have around 50-60% battery left. But over the last 1-2 years, the battery has gone completely downhill. Now it barely does half the house before it's sitting at 20%. It's become impossible to live with. I'm holding out for the 2026 flagships, but I needed something to bridge the gap. So I picked up a Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro (RV2800ZEEUWH) on a deal for 270 euros as a temporary backup. And honestly? The Shark app is horrendous. It is absolutely ludicrous that this robot retails for 800 euros. I would never, ever pay that kind of money for this thing. At 270 euros it's an acceptable deal, but that's about it. Some of my gripes: - You can't define room cleaning order. Seriously. - The app is very slow and buggy. - The mapping is somehow worse than my ancient S5 Max from 2019. I also nearly lost my mind during the initial setup. The robot found every single 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi network in my neighborhood... except mine. After a lot of troubleshooting I figured out it doesn't recognize channel 12 on 2.4 GHz. I had mine hardcoded to channel 12 because it was the cleanest in my area. Had to switch to channel 10 just to get the thing connected. I know this is just another post in the long line of people complaining about Shark, but I feel like it needs repeating: do not buy their robots at full price or at lame "discounts." They are simply not worth it. If you find one at a deep clearance price as a backup or secondary unit, sure, go for it. But as a primary robot at full price or close to it? Absolutely not. UPDATE: UPDATING THE MAP ON THE APP IS A NIGHTMARE!!! It's a piece of crap. I wasted hours already and this piece of shit keeps duplicating rooms, won't save my edits, etc. Fuckin hell!!!! UPDATE 2: The map bugs only affect ANDROID! I tried on the iPad and it worked way better, no issues at all.

We also returned the Eufy E28 (also smelled bad but ours stopped working and their customer service never returned our calls/messages). We have the Shark Powerdetect never touch pro in the sale (about £400 cheaper than the E28). It’s not as clever as the Eufy but it works ok and does the job - it’s definitely not as premium but that wasn’t a criteria. I just wanted something that wasn’t going to break. I did read the Omni S1 was better in that it breaks less and doesn’t smell but knowing that they were impossible to get hold of if anything went wrong here in the UK, we decided to avoid the brand
