Hey. Because you're all hard floor and you named some specific features, I thought I'd talk through this with you. So, Pa is important, sure, but I'm testing robots with absurdly high Pa (over 20k) that miss a lot of debris, and then there's the Switchbot K10+ which has almost no Pa and gets most stuff up. I believe, strongly, that Pa matters less than people think (and marketing people at big brands agree, they keep upping Pa because consumers name it as their main decision making factor). What matters is the design and location of the sweeps in relation to the roller. I say all this because on hard floors, you see ALL the cat hair and litter... so that design is even more important. Navigating around toys: easy. Everyone does it well. Cords? No one does it well. Debris management: 3 months in between changing the bag isn't a big deal. I think you'll be fine. mova v50- low end parts. dreame L50- wasn't bad, but thought the vacuum left a lot to be desired. narwal freo z10, narwal freo z ultra- opposite of no maintenance. you'll be refilling the water every day. eufy e28-has the right sweep/roller design, but was riddled with errors and leaks roborock qrevo curv s5x. dreame x50- good option. This is some fantastic advice, and I think I'm going to pick up a SwitchBot K10+ based on a recommendation you made because my existing robot vac gets stuck around chair legs in my dining room. Being significantly smaller in my case may turn out to be more important than all the other fancy features on robots that are 4x the price.
Just got the vacuums, and I'm quite pleased - thanks for the recommendation! I bought 2 K10+ units since the price was so good. It's pretty amazing how much better it is at cleaning under my dining room table; it doesn't get stuck! My previous robovacs would get ensnared in all the chair legs and would need over 30 minutes to escape. I ended up making that room a "no go zone" with my Ecovacs. I have 3 floors in my house, so now I've got one robovac per flor, which is ideal for automation! Edit: The only issue with the Switchbot K10+ that I had was that the Android app is hot garbage. Setup didn't work, and I was getting a bunch of network errors. I tried using the iOS version of the app and it worked perfectly. Even once the robot is setup, the Android app can't properly communicate with the robovac.
I was considering a Dreame X50 Ultra, but I ended up getting a pair of Switchbot K10+ robots. I already had Ecovacs N8 Pro+ that I picked up in 2021, and the biggest issue I have with that robot is has a lot of trouble getting around the table and chair legs in my dining room. I ended up making my dining room a "no-go-zone" on my main floor of my house because it would often get stuck when the chairs are under the table, creating a complicated obstacle course for a standard-size robot vacuum. I'm pleased to report that the small size of the K10+ is its superpower! Sure, it doesn't mop well, but that wasn't the most important factor to me. In the "survival of the fittest", small wins. It successfully vacuums everywhere. I have 3 floors in my house, and now I have a robovac for each of them. And you can't complain about the price! I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the K10+ is when it's operating. On the negative side of the leger I was unable to get the Android version of the Switchbot app to work properly. I pulled out my iPad and tried that, and it worked perfectly the first attempt. So, yeah. the Switchbot Android app has some showstopper bugs.
Same here. We had a wobbly Roborock s5 and a switchbot k10+. Both if those dragged a wipe around and was more hassle then its worth. We upgraded to a Qrevo master and the difference of our hardwood floor and tiles are night and day.
For under 350 you might be a bit more limited. However this may be a curveball answer here to the mainstream, but i have a switchbot k10 for my 2nd floor and the tiny thing is an absolute trooper.
The switchbot K10+ with 10% off is $180 plus shipping. It gets you auto-empty. The mop isn’t going to be worth much but the vacuum is good. Especially if you have tight spots you want it to get into.
I originally purchased the Switchbot K10+ combo, but after looking at the dust bin size on the robot it would need to go empty a few times each run. I’m now trying to decide if I should get the L40 and leave mop pads behind as will not be using that feature often on hardwood floors. My first floor is about 50/50 hardwood and carpet.
I had to put mine on the 1st floor only because it couldn't complete a run of any other floor without throwing itself down the stairs. (BTW, the SwitchBot Cloud integration already supports it.)
I don't have any experience with Dreame. I've got a Roborock, some Roombas, and the SwitchBot. If I were getting another, I'd probably pick up another Roborock (one with the same supplies) over another SwitchBot, because not falling down the stairs is rather important in my three-story house. (would not got another Roomba).
Switchbot K10+ Replacing a Shark I recently bought that ignored no-go zones.
The switchbot k10+ with an all rubber brush should be pretty tangle resistant.
Vacuum only: roborock q5 or q8 max+ or the switchbot k10+ with a tangle resistant all rubber brush. Vacuum and mop combo: MOVA P10 Pro ultra at 399 (I think on Amazon US). This is a de facto last gen flagship and the antitangle TriCut brush (may ship in a bundle or needs to be bought separately from MOVA/dreame but AliExpress resellers can be cheaper) worked great with my long fur corgi’s fur and tumbleweeds. This one is least likely to get stuck compared to the previous options. Compared to other vacuum and mop combos under 400 which are solid budget robots, the p10 pro ultra blows them out of the water. As for the curved legs, I think the MOVA may at first try to ride up them then eventually learn how to properly avoid them. I have the MOVA V50 ultra and after it humped tripod legs on the first day, it was able to “learn” how to smoothly follow the tripod legs and avoid riding up on them on the third day (second day produced mixed results).
I have a switchbot K10+. It was super cheap and it vacuums so well, even between the legs of the chairs, underneath the sofa,... It's a great deal, just for the vacuum function in itself. The 'mopping' function isn't the best. I've used it once, since changing the wet tissue is too much work as it doesn't last long before it's no longer wet (also got heated floors). But I knew this beforehand and I love this robovacuum. It helps my mental health and was great for my relationship too! I think you can currently buy this one for €170
The K10+ doesn’t support Matter directly, only via the Hub 2 which means it shows as an on/off switch. Not as a vacuum. This is important to know! (I have both the K10+ and S10) I *think* the K10+ Pro Combo has a direct Matter update coming. The S10 supports direct Matter, but only 1.3 spec which doesn’t allow you to set a specific room via HomeKit, only choose stop/start and vacuum/vacuum and mop mode. SwitchBot have said a Matter 1.4 update is coming in August for the S10 But let’s see. FWIW I like the performance of the K10+, the S10 is acting a bit funky on the current firmware though.
