I still have my Xiaomi Mi Robot 1S since 2017 and still runs like a charm, but I have to say 2 years ago I have replaced the battery for 50 bucks and now I'm looking into a new robot which is capable of detecting the things on the ground from my kids as well as also does a wet cleaning... but I also came up with that question, will that robot last also 7-8 years? Probably not... but it also does a different and more complex job.

To be fair, my first gen Xiaomi robot vacuum that I replaced last week vacuums way better than the ecovacs T20 omni that took its place.

I mean, it can be both of the things. That Xiaomi vacuumed perfectly, it literally almost never missed a spot, so I can't really imagine how there can be any improvement over perfection ahah In my case I upgraded mostly because I wanted to add mopping, better map management and less noise, and I paid so little for the T20 that I'm fine if it gets 99% of the older robot.

r/homeassistantWhich robot vacuum are you most excited about for 2026?

This. I'm even still running the ancient Xiaomi gen1 robot vacuum for our upstairs. It still works perfectly fine. Sure, newer models are better, but we don't have hairy animals in the house so it's rather anemic suction is still perfectly adequate.

r/TudoCasaAspiradores Robot: Valem a Pena? Limitações? Qual modelo?

r/AskIrelandDoes anyone have any robot vacuum/map recommendations?

Market is flooded I have a couple of Xiaomi hoover only ones, have been going for years but have replaced multiple parts Was looking at upgrade with mop and went with Dreame L10s ultra which is very similar to the eufy everyone recommends but was cheaper Word perfect and the mop works, don’t buy one with a mop that is just dragging a cloth , it’s a waste of time

I have an Original Xiaomi Mi Robot since 2018. I've had to replace brushes and filters, but it still works just fine.

r/Frugal_IndIs it worth getting robot vacuum cleaner as a long term investment?

I am are using mi robot vaccum from last 6 years. Still working good. Bought it in 2020 when they first launched it in India. Minimum you should buy is one with lidar sensor. To easily identify, the small round bump on top of the vaccum means that is lidar sensor. It was as low as as 9k during offer period and really good. I am thinking of upgrading to dreame vaccum and mop that is 50k. My wife thanks me so many times for getting it because no more headache of house help.

Try the mi one first and see if it is for you. Mine works well even after 3 years. The costlier ones are more powerful and self refilling and cleaning. Read well on the mapping function before buying.

I got a Roborock QX Revo Ultra from Costco (basically a Qrevo Edge but made for Costco?). One thing I'm going to point out that would probably blow a lot of minds is that I owned the original Xiaomi Mi Vacuum which is the first vacuum that Roborock ever released and the Roborock S50 which is the second. Both were released around 2017. The navigation, mapping and dock finding on those early pioneering vacuums was faster and **better** than this ultra high end top of the line model. Those vacuums never got lost or struggled to find the dock, they mapped quickly, and they returned to the dock quickly. This new one is trying to do so much, it maps slow, and it needs to think a lot to get back to the dock. If you set it somewhere random and try to send it back to the dock, it doesn't know where the dock is and it needs to think for a few minutes. All of that to say you'd be shocked that vacuums from 2017 that pioneered this tech and only did 10% of what a modern robo vac does already had a lot of what you need, and they were only $300.

They break like crazy. Even the simpler early models break. My Xiaomi MI and Roborock S50 both lasted 4 years and they had only 10% of the tech a modern robovac with a dock does. The Mi died from battery issues and the S50 has damaged capacitors / resistors / transistors.
