r/RobotVacuumsCan you help me choose between these 5 robots?

I’m in the same 'boat', and it’s tough to decide. These brands have so many similar models (Roborock has 50!!), and YouTube is packed with sponsored videos and questionable “honest” reviews or tests that don’t really reflect long-term real-world use. On Amazon, reviews are lumped together and may not even apply to the specific model, and many websites are full of AI-generated filler lists and affiliate links. This whole product category is still evolving, with a focus on flashy new features rather than worry-free operation. In reality, buying one often means acting as a beta tester for a marketed prototype. For example, rolling mops might look sleeker than spinning ones, but they usually need more maintenance, have more parts that can break, cost more to replace, and don’t necessarily deliver better results. But if you are okay with that, that's fine. I’ve narrowed it down to three options (in no particular order): **Mova P50 Pro Ultra, Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 (non-Pro)** All are priced similarly (€500–€550) here. Mova is a Dreame sub-brand, while Roborock—though partly owned by Xiaomi—is a separate company. All three are Chinese, with consumable parts like dust bags and filters readily available. They each have a similar balance of positive and negative reviews, though Roborock, Ecovacs, and Dreame tend to be more heavily promoted. Older, reputable brands like Dyson, Miele, Rowenta, and Philips make similar products, but finding solid information on them is difficult. All three shortlisted models feature spinning mops, hot water cleaning, and extendable side brushes. Of these, the **Mova** offers the most extras—like a camera, detergent dispenser, and mops that can stay docked—but it also appears to be the least sturdy, despite having an anti-hair tangle brush of the cut/chop type. The **Roborock** features a dual divided brush designed to prevent hair tangling, though I haven’t found any real-world comparisons to confirm if it’s actually the best solution. It’s also available in black and seems to be the most popular of the three, with plenty of information available online. The **Xiaomi** comes with a retractable lidar, which could theoretically allow it to get under lower furniture, though it’s unclear how well this works in practice. It has a cut/chop brush and, from what I’ve seen in pictures and videos, appears to be the best-built product with the highest quality materials. It lacks a camera, meaning no AI object identification—or spying on the cat—but that also means fewer privacy concerns, which I value more. All I need is for it to vacuum and mop. Right now, I’m leaning toward the Xiaomi, with the Roborock as my second choice.

Although it doesn’t have dustbin and dustbag drying, I’d check out the Xiaomi Vacuum Mop 5 or the Vacuum Mop 5 Pro which looks like a very solid cost effective option if priced at about half of its flagship peers from other brands.

Gen 2 or gen 3? Vacuum 5 is better than gen 2.

i have this thing as well. Well, it works like a charm, though i haven't had any other robots before, i was sceptic about how it works. But it is doing really great job , in my opinion, it mopping even better than me xD. Mapping is a bit sketchy tho. It created map from first run, i did some adjustments, like no-go zones, and splitted some big rooms, but it could be better. Also there is no way right now to use this robot's map in homeassistant which i'm really waiting for. Integration into homeassistant is done via [https://github.com/al-one/hass-xiaomi-miot](https://github.com/al-one/hass-xiaomi-miot) and it shows many info, and allows for basic controls, like start\\stop and start full clean. Area/Room cleaning is not possible at the moment, so waiting for some updates.

If you live in a region with Xiaomi presence, their robots are cost-effective and still packed with features commonly found in other brands' mid-range models like Xiaomi Vacuum 5, Vacuum 5 Pro, X20 Max, and X20 Pro. Given your requirements, I think Saros 10 is overkill as current midrange models from Dreame or Mova can perform as well as Roborock's flagship. Try to check Mova P10 Pro Ultra and Dreame L40 Ultra, I think both are around $400 to 500 today. C20 Omni is a decent entry-level auto station combo robot, but there are better options in the market than C20. I heard that the hair detangling mechanism in C20 Omni isn't that good for long hair. Dreame, Mova, and Xiaomi offer a Tricut brush that you can buy separately for a better anti-tangle brush.

Xiaomi vacuum 5-or vac 5 pro if you want the all-singing/dancing A.I. obstacle avoidance. Otherwise the core features are pretty much the same. Xiaomi C.Service is known to be decent too.

I have a few Xiaomis-all with spinning mops-which are really good. Apart from really good core specs.I did notice it will fully dry its pads in 2 hours which caught my eye compared to most other models, some take 6+ which would do my head in!

r/RobotVacuumsDo mopping robots really replace daily cleaning, or do you still ended up cleaning yourself?

Got a dog that sheds a lot and leaves saliva marks on the floor. I had cheap xiaomi robot vacuum mop before, still had to clean a few times a week. Switched to dreame x40 ultra + a levoit air purifier, now i dont really vacuum or mop at all, and i dust the furniture less frequently

I have 2 cats too, one long haired and one short. Tried many many vacuums over the 10+ years that I’ve had my cat. Here’re my personal take on the vacuums as someone who works full time and don’t necessarily have time to clean daily. Dyson: Have the version with the laser. Cost $$$$ but it’s lasted me ~5 years now and still going strong. Fur shows up really well with the laser and imo is a must for pet households. However the fur gets caught in the dust drum especially if your cat is long haired. I would suggest saving up for a laser vacuum, but not necessarily a Dyson one. Side note laser don’t really work well on soft or textured floors (carpets and textured mats), so consider your own situation before you invest. Shark: Had this before the Dyson, so its an old model. Did it’s job, less costly but it was a bit heavier. Broke after 3ish years? Was a bit difficult to clean out the tangled fur too. Random handheld for ~$50 off shopee: Had this in the interim between the shark and the Dyson. My floor LOOKED clean but after turning on the Dyson laser it was an absolute nightmare. Fur and dust EVERYWHERE. So thats why I love the laser. Wet dry robot vacuum from Xiao Mi: It was okay for a while but then things started getting tangled in it (I also have clutter). Also the mop function isn’t very strong so you’d still need to hand mop ~1-2 times a week. After a while it somehow forgot my floor layout and would only mop half of the living room before returning to dock. Also cleaning the vacuum itself was a pain. If your cat is the kind to poop on the floor or cough up hairballs often, I would exercise caution since if your cat ever made a mess when you are out, and the vacuum goes over it, you might just come home to 💩 streaks all over…. Old style vaccum with cord and cylinder: Have this as a backup vacuum. The suction is much better than cordless handheld stick vacuums. Cordless is bad at picking up fur in soft floor like carpet or mats. Con is it’s heavy and less wieldy than cordless. Given your budget I would actually go with a lighter corded vacuum since most budget cordless are bad at picking up fur off anything thats not hard floor… Look for stuff built specifically for pet hair and try out the vacuum in stores if you can. Also look up reviews on Youtube that are 6 month to 1 year post purchase for pet households. Some vacuums lose suction fast.
