The best way alpine one has a 7.6 r value for an insanely cheap price, not sure about durability though!

Just got one of these, insane they don’t market this more often. Going from an R2 to 7.6

Update : this pad is amazing. Overkill for what I need being a 7.6, but it’s amazing as it reduces my need for extra layers during the night. It’s thick and padded and easily worth the price. Just a heads up, Amazon had it about 20 pounds cheaper so I’d suggest heading there as opposed to their official site!

Can confirm - it's great for the price. Very warm pad and not at all noisy to sleep on.

The Bestway Alpinelite is a great budget option if you can get one - R7.6, 664g, £40

I'm pretty convinced this is the exact same pad as the OEX Flux 7R just in a different colour. I don't know if Bestway manufacture in-house but I know OEX/Go Outdoors outsource a lot of their stuff. The same 'quilted' design, same valve and valve placement, same wide rounded mummy shape and same stated specs, they even both have the little printed model code on them you can see on the Go Outdoors website (albeit not the same code). From their respective websites - OEX Flux 7R specs: R-Value: 7.2 Size: 183 x 63.5 x 7.5cm Weight: 768g Bestway Alpinelite Specs: R-Value: 7.3 Size: 183 x 63.5 x 7.5cm Weight: 764g Picked up the Alpinelite in September for £28, around 20-25 nights on it since then with no issues, temps down to -5 (measured) and it's never felt cold. Re longevity I also have the Bestway Wanderlite which I bought from Tesco on a whim last year because it was on clearance, ended up using it for most of the summer as I found it really comfy, probably 40+ nights on that now and it's held up fine, same materials just non-insulated.

Bestway Alpinelite. It's pretty new to the market, but from personal experience and others reviews, it's massively holding it's own against the more expensive mats. I'm actually a bit in love with mine for the price. It's about £40 on Amazon at the moment

I've just commented the same before seeing this. LOVE mine and it's genuinely excellent for the price

I have one, it's brilliant. No noisier than my thermarest xlite and a third of the price. OP, get yourself on bestway!

Self-inflating pads are heavy and take up loads of space. The Bestway AlpineLite u/walkthelands suggested looks like a great deal for a beginner trying to stay on budget.

This mat arrived earlier in the week. Very thankful for the tip! It seems alright. I mean for the price I can't complain. It hasn't been tested in harsher conditions (as we haven't had any!) but seems very good.

Direct from Bestway's website (sometimes called Wilton Bradley) and it arrived within days!
