"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"super comfy. ... And even me at 270lbs I can sit in my side and not bottom out (inflated a lot though)"

"definitely has improved our sleep quality a lot while camping ... boyfriend has back issues so a bad sleep set up is not really an option"

"I just put up with the pinholes and patching them on trail because I can't sleep better on any other pad. ... There's a huge difference in comfort depending on your body between the dimpled baffling of the Etherlight/Tensor and the horizontal baffling of the Xlite. ... I can't sleep on horizontal baffling despite all the good features of the Xlite. ... I'm a side sleeper and my arms and shoulders ache and/or fall asleep or go numb on the Xlite. For whatver reason I can only sleep on dimpled baffles (tensor, etherlight)"

"It ’s super easy to roll back up."

"I also strongly recommend the Exped Mega pump as it makes packing this beast away way easier."

"Just open the port after setting up tent and by bedtime it has naturally inflated on its own. ... Game changer imo"

"Slept without being able to feel the floor. ... No pain"

"We originally tried sharing an air mattress, but he's about 80 pounds heavier than me, and every time he shifted, I was jostled all over the place."

"definitely way better at stabilisation"

"Got these and never had a leak in 3 years now and I sleep through the night."

"I'm hard on my gear and the Helix from REI has lasted me a few years with no signs of trouble."

"2 years of full time use and abuse on our exped megamat and it's still going strong."

"Me too. And I use Apple Airpods. $$$$$"

"$179 is pretty nuts. ... As long as people keep buying them and paying the esports tax, they're gonna keep selling them at this crazy price. ... The G305 feels really similar, but at 1/3 the price. ... I don't truely understand why the G pro light is all the rage. ... I used a G pro for a week, and while it did feel very smooth and responsive, I also had a G305 that felt very similar."

"overpriced and don't ever prove the price difference in sound over the az100."

"Dropped about 9ozs and kicked myself the rest of the way down the trail for being so gullible. ... I could really feel those 9ozs off my back."

"stupidly heavy mondo king pad"

"For pack-in or hiking its FAR too heavy."

"the Mega5EST really relies on tip rolling to get the best performance. ... I prefer the Tea Pro with stock eartips over the Mega5EST Bass+ with stock eartips"

"I don’t find these comfortable. ... You feel as if you are being rolled off."

"Expeds are constantly in the re-supply and a pain in the ass to pack back up."

"My new fucking Sea to Summit Ultralite decided holding air is not its thing despite very careful handling and making sure it wasn't left inflated during the day."

"the "self-inflate" part is a lie ... Well I haven't and it doesn't. It just sits there."

"Sea to Summit ultralight pad had nothing but punctures (or material defects) for me over the years."

Can confirm. I thought the duo was going to be the right choice initially, but reviews from this subreddit lead me to purchasing two x-wide megamats. We have them side by side and covered with a 4" pocket queen mattress sheet. This holds them together surprisingly well. I woke up sleeping on the middle of the two and it wasnt even an issue. My partner said she absolutely loved the sleeping experience. I've used them camping once though. Purchased from rei a month ago. Im thinking about exchanging them for the max 6" versions just for the extra plushness.

I'm a little late but I'll add a +1 for the exped megamat. I bought the extra wide one last year(solo version) for my Subaru Forester. It doesn't inflate that much on its own and I have to inflate it with the pump but it's very easy. I didn't install a platform in my car and I slept really well on it without the slightest back pain the next morning.

Exped MegaMat Duo 15. You’re losing 8” of width vs a queen bed but it’s the most comfortable sleeping pad you can buy. Alternatively, if you absolutely need the extra 8” buy two MegaMat 15 LXWs and put them together. You’ll have 61” of width.

Damn this thread is like an endorsement for exped megamats. We have 2 megamats (medium and long) but plan to get a megamat duo for the wife and kid and me on my own single mat.

r/campingWhat's the brand of the self-inflating mattresses that people swear by?

There are also many sizes of Megamat that might take more or less time to inflate. I believe they all have the same size valve. My DoubleWIdeLong model takes a while to self inflate part way. I never have that kind of time, so I use a mini inflator.

r/CampingandHikingCampmeister Deluxe Insulated for Nordic hiking,
10 months ago

My objective was to replace two mattress with a universal mattress that I may use for camping, where weight is not an issue, such as bicycle hiking or lightweight hiking on foot. Big Agnes Campmeister Deluxe Insulated appears to be the best of all worlds on paper. I got the mattress and tried it out, and this is my verdict after trying this mattress for 10 days with the temperature dropping to -5 during two of the nights. Well, I am returning the Campmesiter Deluxe Insulated because it is not a sufficient upgrade to the Mountain Equipment mattress. I still get back pain after a night on it, and the R value is not accurate. I bought the new Exped Megamat LW, which has a great, accurate R value and causes much less back pain, and when inflated at the right level, causes no pain. https://preview.redd.it/gfkcuk4t0eue1.png?width=1236&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f2a5fadc26147bf25731392b39badd35e499ace mattresses

Exped megamat 10 for the win. I have the xlw just for me. Best nights sleep I ever gotten have been in it. It’s expensive but I got mine on sale. When I considered the duo, the sale price would have been in your budget.

For camping, we use exped megamats (extra long/wide)--and I find them super comfortable even though I have back issues.
