All I can say is, I tried the Ring Plus and the Aqara G4 and both were unuseable as a way to interact with anyone at your door, by the time it connects, they are long gone.
Currently running a Ring doorbell cam Pro (the wired unit) has been very good for a number of years, but I have found that it’s got its challenges, but the biggest thing is the subscription fees. I’m tired of everyone having these subscriptions. When we first put it in we only had it, then we added another cam, and another, next thing we know the subscription is costing an arm and a leg monthly. I’ve been looking at Reolink, but leaning to Unifi (mainly because my whole home network is Unifi). I look forward to digging into these comments here to even help me.
Not happy with my Ring Pro WiFi connected to Apple Home via HA. I get half a screen of green garbley gook. Also have an older ring WiFi and a Reolink Poe set up the same way with no problems.
I had the pro and would consider it overpriced and not worth it.
It was the pro wired.
After they never delivered on their promise 10 years ago (2016!) to add HomeKit support for the Ring Video Doorbell Pro, I also stopped supporting Ring.
my old ring single lense camera + alexa had package detection. Im sure you can do the same with reolink
Mine only went off when it detected a package sitting on my porch
Hardwired ring survived two winters. I pay for the alarm so there’s a monthly cost for me.
The ring wire doorbell is under 2 in. I only know this cuz I also had a tight spot where others wouldn't fit. Want to say it's like 1.75. You might have to trim a little bit of that trim there, but it'll use the existing wiring you won't have to update batteries or anything. I don't know if ring is on your list or not. Various people have issues with various companies, and some of them are valid. But physically it looks like it would fit.
Two wired version Ring doorbell/cameras for my front door and den (front facing) door and a battery flood/camera at the backyard. Have to change the backyard battery about every 90 days. I love them!
If you use a Ring be aware that you need the model that runs on power. I had a battery model that was connected to power to charge the battery. The battery often was drained and I needed to remove it and recharge outside the doorbell. Use the powered model without the battery to feed from the old 24vac feed.
