Hey, I got a clearance Sale cost of 34K INR(390 USD) for Q800D.. and similar price for Sony S700 RF.. which one do you think is best price for sound quality and reliability and doesn’t get outdated soon?
This confusion of door knocks, screams afar have been consistent on my 12 year old basic Sony 5.1 wired speakers too. I now bought a Q800D last week
A reliance digital sales guy quoted 54K for 990D, I didn’t have budget so I went with 800D for 26K
wow! nice, how do you like the soundbar? last week I was in Reliance digital and they had both Bar 500 and the Q800D, the Q800D sounded much better than the Bar500. they said they have a clearance sale for Q800D, for 34K. I am thinking of buying it, what are your thoughts? also online today JBL Bar 500 is available for 30K. Edit: My room size is 220 Sq ft
I just bought Q800D from reliance digital. They just opened a store near my house last month 12th and they had a demo unit without box. I got the new remote/cable from another soundbar Q700 maybe. They all work. Got it for 300$
IMHO, the Q800D is an incredible value and will not disappoint. While the F series does have the newer compact sub, the actual driver size is smaller. The Q800D has an 8in driver, while the Q800F is a 6.5in driver with an 8in passive radiator. Both are superior to the S800 series, as they'll have much richer tone due to their larger drivers and higher wattage.
Go for q800d, even i am from India and been researching alot about it and with all the choices available to us q800d seems to be perfect option for you, plus one if you add rear speakers in the future. I bought q600c because i didnt have budget for 800d
Q800d/f is your best option. Slightly over your budget but worth it. I have bought 800d and q930f and both were excellent for movies.

go for jbl bar 800 or samsung q800/930, jbl have excellent bass while samsung have excellent clarity
Q800D will suffice more than you need it have clear dialogue and crisp base as you requested, if prices are close get the F
Samsung Q800D, it’s basically the 990 but without the rear speakers. Great, as far as soundbars go.
Yes, so long as it has a woofer. Get the nicest one you can afford, the cheaper ones sound like crap. I have a Samsung Q800D which sounds great
So the Samsung q800d is the soundbar and subwoofer of the 990, but no surround speakers. It’s good
I would go with the q800d(eventually u can get a 7.1.4 with the rear), and samung is known to be better than lg, lg soundbars are ranked as the lowest. The wow orchestra isn't important, all companies do that so u choose to buy they soundbar.
Q800D, only benefit to the q800f is that it supports eclipsa audio and has a smaller sub(which isn't as good as the q800d's at higher volumes). Basically u should just get the cheaper one.
for that budget, top up a bit for the q800d
What's your budget? I've got the Q800d which is half the price of the Q990d. I'd consider that budget but I also worry that I'm stretching the notion of 'budget' for that
Just speaking from my own, admittedly, limited experience, the Q800d. I'm in a 4m x 4m lounge and it REALLY fills the space. As close to cinema as I'm going to get on a budget
As an owner of the Q800D, I can recommend it. For a reasonable space, the sound is big, has nice detail for its size and the bass is appropriately thunderous quite often. JBL is owned by Samsung FWIW
Depends. I've got a Q800d which is a very good midrange soundbar. I genuinely got a fright watching Fight Club the other night with the sound of the faux plane crash. I'd recommend that one out of personal experience. But any decent soundbar should comfortably twat TV speakers, especially any with a subwoofer
As a happy Q800d owner, that one. I'm going through the Harry Potter series currently and I just finished Chamber of Secrets. The Quidditch match in that film is one of the best action sequences I've seen in some time and the sound design for it is big reason why. I don't think I would have appreciated it as much with another soundbar. There's detail and real oomph (perhaps too much oomph from the sub, but that's not a problem for me) The side firing speakers give a nice width to the soundstage. And it handles action really well. Explosions and impacts have that 'WHOOMPH!' that I love watching action films in the cinema, with real size and depth. The raptors attacking the cow in Jurassic Park feels terrifying where it didn't before, the Trex attack is incredible, the bass when the brachiosaur's feet thunder on the ground is glorious, the car slamming to the ground when it falls out of the tree is amazing too as is the Galliimus stampede, which has great detail and real width, giving that sense of a herd of animals in your living room. I'm gushing a bit and using perhaps too many superlatives but I really love this thing. I got mine for a nice bargain and I see that, luckily for me and unfortunately for others, the price seems to have gone up. But if you can get it or one of its siblings (the Q800A, B, C or the current F) I'd recommend based on my experience with the Q800D
Not sure about others but in a 4m X 4m space, my Q800D gets plenty loud. I definitely don't go over 20 for the most part and I turned the bass down to minus 1 (though bass is something I'll occassionally adjust depending on given source material) I've also found that setting my TV to pass through dulls (for lack of a better word) the sound a bit, while setting the TV to Dolby Digital Plus adds some oomph and vitality and volume to the sound. I guess pass through is giving me the most accurate sound, DD+ means the TV is adding its own processing on, but I definitely prefer Dolby Digital on
People having a right go at you here in the comments. If it works for you, then it works for you. If not, then your dissatisfaction is part of your education on the matter. My first soundbar, a Hisense, was initially satisfactory but as time went on, I was increasingly dissatisfied to the point where I got a Q800d and I've been happy ever since Sometimes the first time works out, sometimes you need to get burnt so that you learn
Get a Samsung QS-730D from BB. Or, find the used/Amazon Renewed Q-800 (my personal setup is Q-800D with SWA-9500S rear speakers)
Get a Q-800D/F and add the SWA-9500S rear speaker kit. All the performance of the 930, but cheaper.
Yes, but I'd wager that he wants a full body sound stage. Pick up an open box Q-600C/F or QS-730D, then test it out. You'll be very surprised. I personally have a Samsung Q-800D (5.1.2) with Samsung SWA-9500S rear speakers (2.0.2) combined with the TV speakers (Q-Symphony) for a total of a 7/9.2.4 channel surround sound system. Along with the 77" S90D streaming through an Apple TV 4K ethernet model, it's truly an immersive experience! You won't be disappointed if you decide to get one. Even go to Best Buy and listen to a demo model on display!
I live in an apt and just got the Q800D, and use it without the sub. It sounds infinitely better than my TV speakers. That said, it doesn't have the low end below 80-100Hz, but I don't want that anyway. I looked at other options, but they were way more expensive since I was able to get the 800D for around $550 with discounts.
I have both. 7.1 Home theater at home and a Q800D in an apartment I rent for work. There's no comparison. The soundbar is good, and infinitely better than a TV speaker, but my home theater blows it out of the water. However, there's no way I'd use that home theater in an apartment or townhouse, so the Q800D with subwoofer at a low volume is my apartment choice.
