Caleb-CM 1.0Using the rears as fronts, vastly improves music quality. But if u only want a standalone, maybe look to sonos arc ultra, if thats too much the q900 would be great as well, even the q800.
Q900C, the sub is so important.
FightOnForUsc 1.0I have a Samsung Q900c with the 9500s rear speakers. So basically a 990c but with only rear and up firing speakers, no rear side firing speakers. But I got the 900c for $499 and the rears for $121. So the whole package for $620 couldn’t really be beaten in terms of value to me. Rear side firing speakers weren’t worth the extra couple hundred the 990c would have cost
graison 1.0Q900c does not have rear speakers, but you can add that later if your situation changes. Sonos arc ultra is another possibility.
I have a small living room as well (tv is even closer) and have a q900c with rears and it works really well. My back right speaker is mounted to the wall and the left one is on a shelf and angled downwards. Go for the q990 and wait for the software issues to be sorted out. It'll still should great.

Significant-Ask9760 1.0I pulled the trigger on it as well. My problem was patience I bought it at about $635 then two hours later it it drops to $565 and then two days later it drops to $503 🤦♂️. Worst part is Walmart (local) will not price match Walmart.com so you have to order another one at the new price and return the old one. So I had to do this three times already. But hey I'm stoked to get such a flagship soundbar at a good price. This is replacing my HWQ-800A (great soundbar) that soundbar is going in my bedroom now. I'm keeping my SWA-9500S with the 900C.
siopao888 1.0Im also from canada. I returned the arc and got samsung. Its so much user friendly and it has the surrounds and sub. For the arc you have to spend so much if you want to complete the setup (surrounds and sub)
vance3182 1.0I had the Samsung Q900C and the lack of ethernet was a major problem. Airplay stopped working entirely, even though Spotify connect worked I switched to the JBL, and the ethernet is super nice to have and AirPlay works flawlessly.
