Secretlab - MAGNUS Pro

Secretlab Magnus Pro is not cheap, but I'd recommend it to anyone. It does great at what it's meant to do, and the accessories are great. So is the cable management. It can be a slight pain if you need to swap out cables, but since that's rarely done, I don't think it's a huge detractor. If you do dual screen, I'd recommend getting two single monitor arms.

“Actually stable when standing” That depends on how tall you are. I’m 5’7” and my Magnus Pro is fine, but taller people find it wobbly. Trouble is most of them are on two legs, and it’s just physics. That sucks. I bought the secret lab desk Magnus pro xl in white. I don’t have any issues with wobble unless I put it at the max height it can go then there is some which is well above where I would need it for my standing height

I've had mine for over a year and it's fantastic. Yes it costs more, but it's rock solid, the motor is smooth, and cable management is as good as it gets. I also have the 2-monitor stand, the extra magnetic cable management kit, and the laptop holder. 10/10 from me. I do not have the matching pad though - I bought an oversized one that covers most of the desk but not all. It's more cushioned and is water proof, and definitely less than the matching pads. It is heavy, and I assembled it myself - it's doable. But I'd recommend having someone help you move the boxes around, especially with stairs.

I have a Magnus Pro at home. It's pretty good. Personally, though, I'd rather buy an Ergolutions Primus. They have a significantly better price-performance ratio and I like the look of them better.

Very happy with mine too. But yes, extremely heavy. The XL is insanely heavy. Think twice before buying that if there are stairs involved.

Secretlab Magnus Pro is hands-down the best if you want real cable management.. built-in routing, hidden power bay, super clean look. Uplift V2 with the full wire kit is a solid modular alternative. Both keep things tidy without endless zip ties.

ecretlab I'm a neurotic individual so when it came to purchasing a standing desk I went right into the deep end. I researched every existing standing desk, read reviews, watched videos, etc. I was relying on Wirecutter's top recommendation list but was turned off by how much their top pick ended up costing after adding all the extra items (table top upgrade, power receptacles, etc). It was in that review that I discovered a mention of the Magnus Pro. I quickly saw that it checked all the boxes I was looking for in a standing desk. I priced it out, put in my order during the Memorial Day sale period for the desk, a dual monitor arm, and the XL cable management bundle. I received the items in less than 4 business days and was able to get it installed at my office. Initial impressions I am totally blown away by the build quality of all the components I ordered. While it was an expensive purchase, all the items feel and look worthy of the cost. The marquee feature of the desk is of course the cable management. Having the clutter of the wires hidden away is such a nice perk. It’s hard to overstate how nice it is to have the dedicated cable channels in the monitor arms and the ability to hide all the chargers behind a panel and forget they are there. I was somewhat concerned that the desk would feel out of place in my shared office with traditional desk pieces and office furniture but it still fits right in. For anyone on the fence on whether it fits in a non gamer environment, fret no more. It will work in any environment. Future Purchases I plan on purchasing another single monitor arm and the laptop attachment to get the laptop off the desk. I’m on the fence about the desk shelf but only because I have a divider behind the desk and I’m concerned about the dual monitor arms mounted so close to the wall. I’ve seen some people’s setups with the shelf and really like the extra space it provides. Browsing this subreddit has also made me feel like I need the matching chair now! I went with a secretlabs magnus pro xl myself, you may get by with the smaller version. It was less expensive than some of the other brands you mentioned and love it.

When I was searching, I was hell bent on the secret lab magnus pro. Really nice, sturdy desk, but ultimately ended up getting something more timeless, a classic wood desk with built in cable management (just like SL) from Article.
