"have had zero blister or fit issues. ... 250 miles later I’ve bought two more pairs to have at the ready in the sz recommended."
"I have brutal bunions on my feet and mangled ankles so I hadn't been able to get through 200K on any shoe over the past few years....Altras, Hokas, New Balance...I can in Solomans but they destroy my feet. I bought a pair of Altra Experience Wilds a couple months ago and almost got to 400K in those. ... Highly recommend trying. ... Needless to say Im onto my 2nd pair of these."
"for 90% of trails, runners are too comfortable and light to not wear."

"Less than 75 miles. 30% hiking, 70% gravel/light trail. They are destroyed. ... VF has turned Altra into a fairly poor value in my opinion from a longevity standpoint."

"Go with Altras if you dont mind your achilles blowing up ... zero drop shoes work for some ppl for sure but they have blown up far more achilles than theyve helped ppl. Myself included."

"Big mistake, after only a couple of runs, both my second toenails blackened and eventually fell off. ... they are tight though. ... Yes, I feel them in the front of the shoe on downhill especially, but also in flat terrain."

"La Sportiva, for example, is better for scrambling than an Altra. ... Both will work but for Dolomites would suggest something stiffer, with firmer lugs."
"They are both pretty minimally cushioned shoes though, so if you’re running on harder surfaces you may need a higher stack"

Over pronater here as well; I run in Kayanos on road and Altra Wild 2 on trails.
Yeah, look into these. Had the same issues with zero drop as you, picked up some Altra Experience Wild 2s recently. Have done about 25 miles on them so far, very comfortable.
I have both the UV and the EW2 and definitely would recommend the UV. It’s a very good shoe. The EW2 isn’t bad, but not a fan of the fit on the heel for running hills. The UV also has pretty good durability for me so far. Got about 700 miles on my first pair, whereas normally get 300-400 with altras.
There's honestly a ton of gravel shoes which would be great winter options if you're worried about traction. Ghost Trail was just released from Brooks. Experience Wild 2 from Altra. Salomon Aero Glide 3 grvl. They're not nearly as stiff as a trail shoe.
ALTRA Wild 2 (4mm drop) if you want something reasonably priced, or the Wildhorse from NIKE (9/10) are good road to trail options that can see you through a lot. And both are really comfortable shoes. Asphalt all the way to "rocky" is a tough spectrum to cover it all, but those are the two that come to mind. Maybe try the TOPO Ultraventure 4, too, if you really need a wide toebox and some all purpose grip
I’ve done about 4000km in Ultraventure 4s this year (5 pairs) and more recently just over 1000km in Experience Wild 2s (2 pairs). Personally I find the EW2s faster and more fun. That being said both have been fantastic for me in terms of comfort - I am however light-ish and could see the EW2 foam struggling with increased weight. What’s not been great with either is the durability of the uppers. In every case that’s been the weakness that has necessitated maybe slightly premature replacement - the soles could probably have gone a few hundred Ks more. My best advice would be to try both ovrr the course of your training as I suspect you’ll need to replace them way before the summer
Alta Experience Wild 2 shoes. They are a 4mm drop and still have a generous toe box.
exp wide 3 has a 4mm drop, so closer to other standard drop brands, not really low drop. i wear exp wild 2’s and altra olympus 6 & 275 which are true zero drop. i’d give yourself a couple of hours per day & building up - if i wear the ew2’s for 5 days straight my first day in oly’s gives me some pain in the top of my foot and top of fib, but just for a day. some people new to the altra toebox width can benefit from toesox to pack it out - you may be experiencing some growing pains, give them a solid go before you chuck em out
novablast 5 for road - 250km experience wild 2 for trail - 75km i dont have the money to have 6 pairs of running shoes
I tried the Topo Mtn Racer 3 too and struggling with plantar fasciitis, it didn't do the job for me, felt very painful. I got Altras (Wild Experience 2), which have a flat insoles, and see there, all the pain in my feet disappeard within a month, and they have plenty of space in the toebox.
