Asianthunder17 0.55'10 and 210 and I dig the New Balance Hierro series, my 8s are going strong at 250 miles and 9s are quite nice in the rotation as well.
BillyBobGTS 0.5Altra Olympus are great shoes, but it's worth noting that theyre zero drop, which if you're not used to it will feel really strange and likely give you pain in your calves due to them putting more pressure on your lower legs. If you want that Altra feel but aren't used to zero drop it's worth looking at the Altra Experience Wild which have a 4mm drop Personally, I love my New Balance Hierro v8 and my Nike Pegasus Trail 5, which are very do everything shoes and are really comfortable
buckbuckwhatup 0.5Have love every version except for the v8 where the lack of tongue loop and laces stink. Haven’t tried v9 yet but ordered a pair and just arrived, and will once my v8’s wear out. Encouraged by the tongue loop on these.

czechtexan03 0.5Looking for a shoe that can handle the Dinasour Valley Endurance 100k race in Glen Rose, Texas. This will be my first ultra trail race(finished a 40 mile road run for my 40th bday last weekend for my first ultra race). Right now, the only trail shoes I have are the NB Hiero V8(a little too unstable for technical trails and Saucony Perigrenes(not comfortable enough for long trail races). I was looking at the Hoka Speedgoat 6s, but a lot of negative reviews say they are terrible compared to the 5. Just not sure what to look into. My longest trail race so far has been a 20k. I’ve races 2 road marathons, several half’s/10ks/5ks. My race shoes for road are Saucony Endorphin Speed/Pro 4s Description of trails/elevations in the pictures Thanks in advance
EwoldHorn2 0.5I disagree, the v9s are the best. The v8 are the suckiest and they made me slide in Lisbon because they use cheap vibram. If you gonna buy stuff anyway why settle for the cheapest material for a premium price? The v9 uses the best grips
buy the v9. V8s are worst one because it uses the cheapest vibram and priced it premium while the v9 have a comfy foam. I have both the V8 and V9 and I got into an accident in Lisbon because of the V8s thinking they got the same "premium" vibram of the V9. Don't believe suckers who do not test their shoes in different conditions
IgorOldfalcan 0.5Trabuco (12) have great durability as road to trail shoes, can definitely recommend them. Hierro v8 have been one of my favourite shoes, I managed to bring them to 850 km, the upper had a really big tear on the side by then though. V9 weren't as good, had problems with the laces and less durable overall
nicolexavier 0.5New Balace Hierro V7 and V8 (I think) come in wide fit, I’ve had a few pairs and they’re great. ON running also do trail shoes and generally have a wide toe box. i have wide feet and really rate their road shoes
Ok_Wrangler5173 0.5If you like the feel of the New Balance 880s, check out the New Balance Heirro. The V7 and V8 models are still available on Amazon and a few other retailers. Crazy comfortable and sturdy. I’ve trail run and hiked 300+ miles in my current pair (in Montana and the PNW) and the tread is still solid and defined, no holes or tears in the uppers. The newest version (V9) is foamier so I can’t attest to its comfort or durability. I like them so much I’ve bought a couple “reserve” pairs for when my current pair bites the dust.
