"fits in the overhead compartment of both domestic and international flight aircrafts ... it can be really helpful to have it on hand and make sure it doesn’t get damaged during transport"

"Lightweight and indestructible because we travel and between me and the airlines, our gear gets treated like deep fried trash."
"used it into toddler years with my first, then when I had my second bought the additional scooter board for the big kid and will use my infant car seat with an adapter until baby can sit in the seat again. ... Small but mighty and I treat it like shit and it still goes"

"What both the bugaboo and the Joolz is NOT good for is the rough terrain of Central Park. ... We tried it and it was terrible. ... A lot of the Central Park winding paths have bumpy roads because of the large tree roots so it was such a pain to maneuver."
"the criticisms about being a rough ride on uneven terrain are 100% warranted though because of the wheel size"
"Travel strollers usually don’t have the suspension or wheel size you’d want to navigate rough terrain. ... We have the bugaboo butterfly for a travel stroller which is pretty similar to the Aer. It would be miserable or impossible to use on cobblestone."

"I wouldn’t recommend this as your only stroller because it doesn’t work for newborns."
"the only thing that stops it being the perfect pram is the lack of lie flat"
"I would say it's better for babies that are more upright, cuz it doesn't fully fold back"

"The handlebar is also lower on the Bugaboo."
"most people much prefer the travel stroller except for my 6’3” husband (travel strollers don’t have adjustable handlebars)"
"Only downside is the handle is not telescopic or extendable. ... I’m your height and it works well for me but hubby is about 6 ft and he says it’s a bit short for him"

My Vista is now set up as a double but I used it as a single for the purpose of doing my food shopping. The big basket is a massive selling point. Once you take the seat off it's really not heavy to lift in and out of the car. The big wheels also make it easier to push. I have a travel pram (butterfly) and the little wheels on certain terrain make it difficult to push.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Prams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby? ->Glad to hear this post was helpful! Hope you enjoy the stroller! (we have the Butterfly 1 as well, it's a great travel stroller)
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly 2 coming May 22 ->we waited for over a year and finally pulled the trigger on it with the sale and 20% stack. it’s a fantastic stroller to keep in the car because it has such a small footprint and is very well-made. also you can get car seat adapters for it if you have an infant seat, so you may get more use out of it than you think. the criticisms about being a rough ride on uneven terrain are 100% warranted though because of the wheel size, but if you’re planning on using it in stores and sidewalks, it’s a great buy at the price you’d get it for.
r/Buyingforbaby • Should we buy bugaboo butterfly now? ->i am somewhat relieved by the list of improvements, which are definitely nice, but definitely not worth the $280 price difference between the new model and the original with the price reduction + target coupon. the increased front wheel size is probably the one thing i am genuinely wishing i could have.
r/Buyingforbaby • WARNING: Bugaboo Butterfly 2 US model has no Lay-Flat Recline ->We are close to clocking easily 100 km walked with our Bugaboo butterfly. We have done four international flights and about 20 domestic flights. Bugaboo has been great the one hand fold is brilliant for that last minute toddler pick up and fold. Light enough to carry up or down stairs when needed (+\~ toddler still in seat). Its only flaw is that it doesn’t do newborn flat. Don’t know why it would be a total class killer if it did.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Travel stroller ->Bugaboo butterfly 2.0 is newborn ready. We have the original and I’ve said repeatedly the only thing that stops it being the perfect pram is the lack of lie flat. Seriously thinking of upgrading to the 2.0
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best travel stroller/pram: RedsBaby V3, Uppababy Minu V3, Pixi Travel Stroller ->Travel prams are seductive. Once you realise how little you can get away with you might say good bye to your main pram. Bugaboo butterfly he the best canopy which in Australia matters massively.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Stroller advice ->Not to be annoying but bugaboo butterfly is what you need but not on your list. We are obsessed with ours. And around 400-500 on marketplace.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Please pick one stroller👶 ->I think bugaboo is increasing their price soon so I just purchased it in case this was affected
r/Buyingforbaby • Should we buy bugaboo butterfly now? ->I can confirm it stacks with the 15% and i ended up getting it for $271 before tax
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly 2 coming May 22 ->Hello stroller addict here 🙈 - I’ve just purchased #6 although I did sell one so we will have 5 when it arrives. 1. Nuna mixx - our first stroller and bought to go with our infant seat. We loved it until we didn’t, it’s now gathering dust in the hall closet. Keeping solely so I don’t get the urge to buy a Cruz v3 for bassinet mode and bc resale on them sucks. 2. Bugaboo butterfly (OG) - bought for travel, lives in my husbands car (will maybe sell this one, see #5) 3. UB Vista v3 - bought to replace the Mixx because my child hated the seat with a passion - love this stroller but hate the bulky fold. I use it every day for stroller walks in the neighborhood and to the park, lives in garage & comes on big outtings with us. 4. Nuna triv (SOLD) - bought when my kid started hating the mixx and I wasn’t ready for world facing yet. Liked it but once he was world facing I swapped it for something more compact since it’s still pretty big. 5. Bugaboo butterfly (2) - kind of a splurge that I didn’t need but I just wanted a stroller that lived in *my* car for everyday use and I liked the new features. 6. Guava Roam (in transit) - bought mostly for my husband to jog with but also for park outtings & rougher terrain than the vista can handle. I have a problem, it’s fine 🥲
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->We have the butterfly and fox 5. The butterfly is great for travel and maybe in and out of a restaurant due to its size. I still prefer my larger stroller for walks or a day at the mall. They’re both smooth but you can’t compare a travel to full size in terms of mobility and comfort.
r/Buyingforbaby • Uppa Minu V2 stroller as travel system for the win ->Another vote for Bugaboo Butterfly!
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller ->We have the bugaboo butterfly v1 and love it! We never had an issue putting it in the overhead compartment, agents may want to see it actually folded up before you board but that’s it. It’s easy to go through TSA with it, I’m petite and can hold my baby and fold it with ease. I like the updates they made in the newer version but if you want to save a little you can always buy the older version. Also just to add, my parents bought the cybex travel for their car and it folds up a little smaller than the bugaboo but it’s a little clunkier to fold. My parents prefer the bugaboo but for the amount of times they use the cybex it works. It’s slightly cheaper too
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel strollers - Nuna, Bugaboo, Uppababy… ->Used the bugaboo butterfly 1 a few weeks ago with jet2 - no issues. Brought into the cabin and stored overhead easily. Flying again in Sept and will be using the joolz aer+. Renting them from baboodle and will buy the one that we like the best.
r/UKParenting • So confused with cabin approved strollers bigger that cabin luggage allowance, help! ->Would yall wait to buy the 2 or just get the 1 if I can get it for roughly $319 before taxes
r/Buyingforbaby • Bugaboo Butterfly 2 coming May 22 ->Look for the Cruz travel bag on marketplace. There aren’t that many strollers that are good for a 4 month old, even if they are beginning to sit up. I own the butterfly v1 and I regret owning it. Our Cruz is by far preferred
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel stroller for 4 month old? ->I don’t have those, but the babyzen yoyo is really similar to the bugaboo butterfly, which I do own. It reclines pretty flat. I couldn’t use it with my baby until she was 5 months old. It just won’t work to put a newborn in the seat, they’re just too small and scrunched. Maybe a travel stroller will work with an infant bucket seat with adaptors?
r/Buyingforbaby • Travel Stroller from birth ->I own too many strollers. I have the Evenflo Dualride Shyft, bugaboo butterfly, Uppababy Cruz, and Austlen Entourage. I pretty much only like using the Cruz. The Dualride was super convenient when she was lighter and smaller. We could take just the bucket inside and leave the wheels in the car. But it couldn’t really handle anything but smooth pavement or inside flooring. Even a brand new sidewalk crack or a pebble sent it rocking. The butterfly is what I’d take if we flew, but it also struggles on sidewalk cracks that aren’t perfect or a small divot. It also tips back if you try to hang any diaper bag on the handles and the basket is small. It also reclines more than we like now that she’s able to sit up. It sits in our car for if we are out and about and need a stroller. We also have a sling carrier, and if we were going over any real terrain, I’d reach for the carrier hands down. The Entourage was the stroller I got first thinking I’d want one that could convert to a double if I had another kid. That’s the only double stroller I’d want because it folds up with two seats, you don’t have to remove a seat like most others. But it is huge and weighs a ton. I like it plenty as long as I keep it open and ready to go, except that it *also* reclines too much. She wants to sit up and see the world. I am keeping it in case we do end up having another kid So we use the Cruz the most. It sits super upright. It has decent suspension (we got a used 2019 V1). I don’t like the folding mechanism but we leave it open and ready for our morning walk.
r/Buyingforbaby • Overwhelmed with stroller options! ->Butterfly is not upright like the Cruz is. Even the most upright position is slightly reclined. Also tips over if you hang anything on the handle but otherwise it’s never topped over on us. Overall I don’t recommend it. If you must have one that folds up smaller and will only be used during travel, I’d go with something cheap. Pick any of them that you find on marketplace, or buy a $50 one at target or Costco that you can return if you don’t like it.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stuck on travel strollers ->If they cannot sit upright on their own, then I do not recommend a stroller with a seat like the butterfly for this trip. Realistically, there will be bumpy walkways and if they don’t have trunk control, they will be flopping all over. I hate our butterfly and not because it’s not parent facing. The wheels get stuck on every sidewalk crack and lurches (it would be hell on cobblestone), baby doesn’t sit upright (on the most upright setting they’re still kind of reclining), and the basket is tiny. If the only nap you get right now is a stroller nap, why aren’t you bringing your regular stroller? Get travel insurance if you’re worried about it breaking
r/Buyingforbaby • The parent facing travel stroller issue ->I disagree about the butterfly redesign. I don’t think the new design would make a significant improvement on the issues I have had. The wheels may be larger, but they’re not that much larger and it still lacks suspension. But ymmv and to each their own. If you’re going to end up buying it, then just get over the parent facing issue and get that one for this trip. No sense in buying a 3 strollers.
