Joolz - Joolz Aer

I have the original Joolz Aer and it can be set up fairly upright for snacking and trying to keep the kiddo awake those last few minutes before getting home too 😅 Overall amazing lightweight convenient and spacious stroller we’ve loved the most after owning and renting a bunch of other brands. They don’t use flame retardants and other known toxic stuff in there too, which I love too.

So many options, I’ll tell you what worked for us but there will be so many others. We had a used Joolz Day or Geo for our first child, sold it and when we had our second child (unexpectedly), we bought new Joolz Geo. What we liked was how study it was but you could still dissemble it to go into a small car’s trunk. It had the baby thing to lay in and the upright seat that can be tilted and a load of addons available. BTW these days (kids are 3 and 7), we switched to cargo bike (R+M Load 75) and Ulfbo for trips to parks or Baltic Sea. Life after stroller (can be) expensive but is sooo much fun! Enjoy Berlin

If you can afford it, go for the joolz aer it's truly the best! I think the new version will have a full recline

The EU aer version is so much better (with full recline). You can ship it from europe and still be cheaper someone posted the link few months back!

Second this, I love my Joolz. It's basically my primary pram at this point, I love it. No issues on a Qantas Domestic flight either.

I have a Joolz Aer and love it (with the foot rest attachment), my son is 11mo and 90 percentile too and fits fine. I use this pram far more than my Redsbaby nuvo and that's because it's just easier to take around. We've had no issues travelling with it, and my son has slept in it perfectly too. I am however contemplating getting the redsbaby skip3 once I have tested/seen reviews because I feel like where the Joolz lacks, the redsbaby is so good (better basket space + better recline). In saying that, I'm very happy with my Joolz and I'd be happy to keep that, I just feel a sense of loyalty to redsbaby haha!

I had the Joolz Aer and just upgraded to the redsbaby skip 3. So glad I did, the basket size is way better, my son sits so much more upright, The canopy protects him more and the recline is better than the Joolz. Highly recommend

Redsbaby by far. I had the Joolz Aer and I upgraded to the redsbaby. The recline, the upright seat, the basket, the sun cover. I find them all far better than the Joolz!

I will say I feel like the Joolz was slimmer when folded but still would go for the redsbaby

Joolz Aer (older model) is not full recline but newer models (Aer + and the new Aer 2) are. It’s a great stroller imo!

We got the European version and the recline is so great! They just came out with an updated version with a larger basket.

We did a lot of travel with our now 2.5 year old. Is he already 2 years old? If so, legally he will need his own seat. For me personally, we got her a seat since she was around 15 months old because she was too wiggly and can use the extra space for her to stretch out, play and sleep. Flight logistic: Typically, airline will serve meal 1 hr after take off. If your little one is a heavy sleeper, that could work. My daughter is typically a good sleeper, and during our recent midnight flight (flight departed at 12am), thankfully she was sleeping through the entire meal service. We pushed our schedule a bit later that day so she nap at around 3-5pm and was able to stay awake until take off. Car seat: Will you need a car seat at your destination? If so, you might want to bring it. We use the cosco scenera next which is very compact and lightweight, and fits in the airplane seat. But if you don't need the car seat, you can leave it. I typically bring an inflatable foot rest - it helps my daughter to rest and to prevent toys falling down to the ground (so we don't have to bend down to pick it up 1000x). Stroller: I have Joolz Aer and I loved it - although I wish the basket is a bit bigger. Other option is the ergobaby metro 3, a lot of my friends have it and love it. Or the bugaboo butterfly. Some airline only believe that YoYo is the only stroller that can fit in the overhead bin. If they don't let you bring it as a carry on, you can gate check them. just put a stroller cover (like the travel bag) on it before you gate check because mine has been damaged from being gate checked. Tips: lots of new toys, snacks and allow screen time! Offer breastfeeding during take off and landing, the sucking helps with ear pressure. If he refused, get him to drink water. juice or suck on lollipop. I love the melissa & doug water book, stickers and play doh. I used to hate play doh but she loves it and keep making the same "snowman" for 30+ minutes haha. Lastly, I haven't been to Portugal yet but I heard it is so kids friendly and the foods are amazing. Have lots of fun and most of the times, our kiddo surprise us (in a good way) during vacations.

Seconding this! I have the joolz aer (the older model), and we brought it everywhere including Japan twice. It's comfy for naps and very compact so we can bring it to the tiny sushi restaurants. In terms of hot weather, I would recommend getting and bringing stroller fan. We went to Japan in October 2 years ago and it was still hot. We alternate the fan between baby (wrap it around the bumper bar), and parents (wrapped it around the handle)

I have a travel stroller. Most people I know stopped using a full or mid-size stroller by the time their child reached 18 months. They bought a travel stroller. I did a ton of stroller research. I tried a lot of friends strollers. The Yoyo is tricky to close and has a small basket. I don’t like it. The aer also has a tiny basket. I had a Minu, not the strollers fault, someone crushed it by dropping their full size stroller on it at daycare. I replaced it with the Butterfly because my son is tall. I prefer the Minu. It folds even with stuff in the basket that's not the case with most travel strollers. Full and mid size strollers don't fit in boutique or cornerstone aisles. So you'll be leaving it outside. Also remember your 8 month old will be a 2 year old. Not all subway stations have elevators. You can't carry a mid-size stroller by yourself. You want something you can carry with one hand your child's hand in the other.

Also a Cruz and ergo family. The big attraction for me was the price point. Yes I loved the aer and the butterfly, but holy heck was I not about to drop $600+ for a stroller that isn’t even my main one.

We just used a Joolz Aer with ride on board for our 5/3 yos in the Azores. It has a seat. I could easily push it on the narrow sidewalks alone one handed and it was fab in the airport. Anything heavier/bigger would be hard to maneuver on narrow sidewalks. Depending on the city it might be ok but I really did like the narrow width of the Aer in that context.

We have a Cruz and an Aer and use the Aer way more. Very comfy travel stroller. Fits easily in the car, one hand fold, basket is still big enough to carry a few things. We use the Cruz when we’re going for a bigger shopping trip at the market but the Aer does most of the heavy lifting. We have two kids and both have the ride on boards.
