"I feel like it reclines enough, my mate commented today he looks like he’s reclined way back and chilled out. ... He fell asleep in it on the golf course last week so no issues there."

"Personally we got the Joolz Aer+ international version as it has a flat recline. ... Used it for 3 months in Europe and was fantastic!"

"even managed to get my stubborn 2 year old to sleep in it!"

"I walk to the grocery store with my babe often and the basket on it is way too small."

"The aer doesn’t even hold my daily diaper bag. ... The basket is so small."

"and the underneath storage is very very minimal. it wouldnt fit a diaper bag, maybe just a big handbag."

"Tried the Aus version in store and the half recline was just not great. ... I got the Aus version first too then hated the recline so had to make the switch."

"I found the aer+, where you have to unzip the seat all the way around the back, then pull on straps tucked into the back of pram to tighten/loosen, really awkward in store tests (though I’m sure you’d get used to it)."

"I got the Aus one because I was impatient but I sort of regret it. ... I got the Aus version first too then hated the recline so had to make the switch."

"Have the joolz aer+ with no accessories. How annoying that everything is extra. ... In Australia the accessory prices are daylight robbery."

"It also rubbed me the wrong way that you have to buy the footrest separately for the joolz aer+."

"you have to buy expensive extras that should come with it (footrest, bumper bar)"

"We had the Joolz Aer Plus but returned it because I was hitting my feet on the axle in between the rear wheels (I am tall) ... it doesn’t have an axle between the rear tires so if you push the stroller close to you and have long legs, you won’t hit it (the main issue that was a dealbreaker for me on the Joolz)."

"most people much prefer the travel stroller except for my 6’3” husband (travel strollers don’t have adjustable handlebars)"

"The only downside is that it’s on the smaller side for us (we’re both quite tall)"

"What both the bugaboo and the Joolz is NOT good for is the rough terrain of Central Park. ... We tried it and it was terrible. ... A lot of the Central Park winding paths have bumpy roads because of the large tree roots so it was such a pain to maneuver."

"also if i crossed the street, the wheels would have trouble getting up the driveway ramps and i'd have to tilt it."

"We go on walks in forests and on non stable ground, plus it snows where I live and the wheels wouldn’t be able to handle it."

Chiming in to recommend the Joolz Aer. It’s great. US regulation doesn’t allow totally flat recline but baby can sleep in it comfortably. The EU version does have flat recline. You can also get adapters to plop your infant car seat onto it

I also have the Joolz Aer Plus and just tried out the minu v3. I had a hard time opening the minu V3. It is definitely not as smooth as the joolz. I don’t know if I got a defective one or if that’s the way it is on all. Is anyone having trouble with squeeza and fold/ unfold on minu v3? I absolutely love the one-handed fold, and the light weight of the Joolz. I hate the useless recline and the tiny under basket. The minu has a huge and capable basket and a great recline. It’s a tough choice, but it is 3 pounds heavier also

I’m so surprised at everyone mentioning the UPPABABY? That shit is heavy duty and IMO not what the OP is looking for at all. I’d highly recommend the joolzaer. Travel friendly, extremely lux European brand and allows bassinet attachment/ car seat so it’s perfect to use from birth. If you are in a typical urban/city living it will be perfect. If you are in rough terrain, might not be the most ideal but it’s under 7Kg, 8kg basket & fits everywhere and anywhere!!

We are in the same situation as you, city living, no car, no option to store the stroller at the ground level of our walk up.  We bought a Joolz Aer + with a bassinet attachment- baby’s not quite here yet so I don’t have a full review. But I am happy to say it feels really solid and not like just a travel stroller, especially with the bassinet attachment. It’s a lot smaller than my friends bugaboo (because of course it is) so I dont know if we will use the bassinet attachment for as long. But it folds great, with or without the bassinet, and the bassinet is easy to take on and off, which is what we wanted for our 2nd floor walk up (3rd floor european) apartment. And I cannot imagine buying a heavier stroller than this - it’s supposed to be one of the lightest but still damn! 2 things I might see as negatives with use- 1. The suspension isn’t as good as a full size of course.  I am hoping it is good enough, but we live in a town with a fair amount of cobblestones and even some “stroller approved hikes” so I will definitely be putting it to the test!  2. I wish an engineer would make magic and find a way to make a lightweight travel stroller with the storage capacity of a full size- since we also don’t have a car I know I will be filling the storage underneath to absolute max capacity and I wish it was bigger, but I know it’s not possible and actually the Joolz aer has been praised for having more room than other compactsThe way I reassured myself to pull the trigger on this one was to start with the smallest stroller that could work and get it on sale/ used. That way, if it didn’t work out as an every day stroller, we had a good stroller for flights (all family lives abroad) and we could feel better about keeping this one for travel, store it away (like I said, it folds great) and then invest in something more robust for every day if we really needed it. Good luck with your search!

This is what we’ve settled on, plus a Doona because we do a lot of plane travel and it seems convenient for that while they’re still little

Hi there. If you are worried about travel and wanting your stroller to fit in the overhead on the plane, then do NOT get the Butterfly. It is slightly too big to fit. I cannot speak for the Redsbaby Skip as I have not used it. I have the Redsbaby Jive though and I am 100% happy with the quality. For travelling we were gifted the Joolz Aer+ by my inlaws. I absolutely love it. It is light and practical and very easy to carry around. Also fits comfortably in the overhead compartment.

I have the Aer+. There’s a bassinet attachment that you can purchase for a newborn- my baby used it and it seemed quite comfortable for her! I love that it’s a one handed fold too- very helpful when I’m managing things by myself day to day. As for the recline, does your baby only sleep in full recline mode? My baby actually sleeps better in the Aer+ than my full sized Uppababy Cruz 😅 I’ve since discovered she doesn’t like sleeping flat on her back when out and about

Yes! I have had the Joolz Aer for 21 months now. One of the reasons I got it was because of the smooth handling and wheels not getting stuck . My sister had a couple different strollers that I hated on city sidewalks cause they weren’t smooth and the wheels randomly stick. I have love the Joolz Aer.

The Joolz Aer has a bassinet attachment that still allows the stroller to fold up.

I only have the Joolz Aer and haven't wanted or needed anything else. It just comes down to personal preference. I don't think everyone needs two strollers in NYC. But I think there are some people whose needs or preferences require them to have two. I personally hated my sister's huge strollers, in the city and in the suburbs. I find the Joolz Aer the perfect size for city life and very robust.

Don't fall for the Uppababy hype. While it is a well built stroller,. it is overkill and after using other lightweight strollers feels way too heavy. They are also too big to travel with imo, even in cars unless you have a big SUV or Van. Great if all you are doing is walking flat ground to the park. One exception is possibly for the first couple months when your baby can't hold their head up yet, then it is nice to have a stroller with a bassinet or car-seat compatible options. Maybe see if you can borrow one for those couple months and then switch to something lighter after. Or just use a carrier for those months. (Although the Joolz does have a bassinet option also) If I was starting over I'd probably just go with one of the Joolz light weight stroller that also is easy to travel with. I've heard good things about the yoyo also. We took the Joolz Aer to Europe, fit in the overhead compartment and handled the cobble stone streets great.
