The monitor doesn’t have built in speakers. If that website states it does then it is incorrect. No matter the vendor it’s always wise to look at the manufacturer’s product page, that will give you the most accurate details on the product. As far as your asking if you’ll have to pay return shipping in another comment, nobody has a way of knowing other than you finding out the return policy with the vendor you chose.

I recently bought this monitor coming from a 1080p 27 inch Samsung and I’ve been loving it. If you’re looking for a budget ultrawide I’d say this is one of the best options available, especially at the price point.

I went from the aoc cu34g2xp to an LG 34gs95qe and agree with what you said. The aoc was a decent monitor, I didn’t notice any smearing or other issues VA’s can have. The LG is beautiful, OLED looks so much better. I personally love the 800r curve it has as well.

For the same reason there are no curved IPS panels... It's difficult. Since there are no curved IPS panels, no one wants to make 34" UW panels because it is simply horrible to use such a wide flat panel. Now, we are no longer in 2022 and earlier where only Samsung panels above the G6 were good VA panels, now panels made by TCL CSOT, using Samsung's old factories and their patents are capable of decent performance. The difficult part is finding monitors that use these panels... For now, I can confirm that AOC CU34G2XP and CU34G4Z KTC H34S18 Lenovo G34W-30 Philips Evnia 34M2C3500L TCL 34R83Q They are the only ones that do or do use these "new" HVA panels from TCL CSOT which have performance in response times much higher than the rest of the VA panels not made by TCL.

Thanks for the swift response. Just received my CU34G2XP and pretty happy with it thanks to your review and settings. The contrast annoyingly is better with the 'picture boost' on but it reset every time you turn off the display. Still, its much better than my previous IPS panel. Black smear and ghosting not too bad in Medium overdrive setting in fairness, certainly not perfect but not enough to put me off using it. Overall for the £250 I paid, I'm pretty happy - eventually I think I'll upgrade to ultrawide QD-OLED but I'm holding out to see what panel improvements and pricing does this year. I play a lot of RPG games and Sim Racing, as much as the slight smearing is annoying the ultrawide experience more than makes up for it in my opinion!

I got mine four days ago, and my unit suffers from extensive light bleeding and color washout toward the bottom half of the screen. Dark greys appear as washed-out browns, which is very noticeable, especially when reading articles on Wikipedia.

Got it replaced by AOC. The new unit doesn’t have any of those issues.

Just wanted to follow up and say thanks - I picked up two of these while it was on sale so that I could get the beginnings of two rigs going so we can race at the same time. Very pleased with them.

hahaha i have same dilemma right now and i google every info about msi. i have been using AOC CU34G2XP/BK for 2 weeks but i turned it back because of gamma shifting and curved screen annoyed me a little bit so i think about this msi but msi have lower PPI and bigger FLAT screen that also can be annoying. very hard to decide. remember msi have 144 hz and its overdrived to 155 and there is Absence of height adjustment feature in msi and worse colors than AOC. didnt had this msi but for simracing i think its better because bigger but its flat and it can annoy you a little bit. i turned back aoc cu but i think i will test msi and if i will not like msi i turn it back and get back aoc again. \+ also when i was using aoc for gaming flat screen is ok but normal regular work, text, DAW or anything it was pain in ass my eyes had huge discomfort

Just got mine today and it's amazing. There is almost no black smear and it looks just like my IPS motion wise while playing games. One thing to note is if you want 10 bit HDR you need to run it at 144hz otherwise it will switch to 8 bit FRC. Any questions feel free to ask.

Sorry for the late reply. that video was using Meduim overdride, stong has way too much overshoot and weak doesn't really do anything.

HDR, VRR, and Overdrive all work together so no need to pick and choose.

Yeah VA seems to fill in the screen better than IPS, looks less pixilated 

I have the Alienware aw3418dw ips ultrawide. I bought it for $150 on FB marketplace. I also recently bought the Alienware AW3425DWM Va Panel ultrawide for $350 with tax on Amazon. For work and general daytime browsing, the ips is better. For videos and gaming, the VA wins. The VA panel can be a little distracting for work since it's got the typical gamma shift and black level raise issues. However there is absolutely zero black smearing on my panel so text scrolling is smooth. I also briefly owned the AOC CU34G2XP VA monitor and that panel was atrocious.

Which VA panel do you have? I have this experience with the AOC CU34G2XP, and it's atrocious for anything except gaming. Hate the rasied black and gamma shift even 10 degrees off center.

The biggest adjustment you need to make is in the games setting menu, REDUCE SHADOW CONTROL TO 30 , for the deep blacks va can provide. Contrast 60-70 Eco mode 'standard' Gamma 3 HDR Off I just set color temp to warm GAME MODE OFF Low input lag on OVERDRIVE - MEDIUM Game color - i like mine at 12 for a slight boost to situation but that's personal preference

This monitor is great, it's calibrated very bad out of the box though. Also not ideal if you're forced to use HDMI because you will get lower hz and 8 bit vs 10.
