GIGABYTE - MO34WQC2

For me uw much better experience in games and movies. I had va 34 monitor and now swap to gigabyte mo34wqc2 and don't want 16:9 anymore

Hey there, I’m using a 34-inch with a MacBook Pro M1 Max. It was definitely a bit strange to deal with all those problems in the beginning, because I never thought that it would be such a thing and that you need to consider so many things. BetterDisplay is the App that you’re looking for. It will help you with the HiDPi and the resolution issues since you can create your own resolutions and it will look much better than macOS would handle it. I think I’ve paid 20€ for it. There are no issues regarding text clarity or anything else. Before I upgraded to OLED (Gigabyte MO34WQC2) I’ve used a Dell S3422DWG. I use the monitor also for gaming since my PC is also connected to it. Oh and make sure how you connect the monitor to your Mac. There are some differences between HDMI and DP regarding Refresh Rate etc. Hope that helped.

I recommend the Gigabyte MO34WQC2. I've this monitor right now and use it for my day job as a Software Engineer, and then for gaming/watching movies in the evening. The text clarity is perfectly fine for me, the built-in KVM switch works great, it's 240hz, and the QD-OLED screen is beautiful. There's always a risk with burn-ins, but there's a 3-year warranty for that. I expect to be able to use this monitor for at least 4 - 5 years.

Just swapped VA UW (bougth in 2020) for an OLED UW (mo34wqc2). Color and motion quality is clearly in favor of the OLED (and no smearing like VA). All panels 34 should be samsung gen 1 or gen 1,5 I guess. I chose Gigabyte for 3 years warranty, Burn-in included, and good price. I/O and design are poor though.

I just got the Gigabyte MO34WQC last week and returned it immediately. I'm a software engineer and the text was horrible to look at. More than burn in concerns, the text fringing is something I thought was overblown on the internet, and that it would be fine - it wasn't. I'd say eliminate OLED from your consideration if you plan to look at text on anything around 110ppi (1440p on 34" utrawide). For the text fringing to not be noticeable and not strain your eyes, it needs to be much much higher OLED to be viable for daily text usage.

The alienware aw3425dw was released last month. It has an 240 hz refresh rate instead of 175 and goes for 799 dollar The Gigabyte MO34WOCQ2 and the MSI 341CQPX have the same panel as the alienware i mentioned. If i were you i would get the cheapest one of those three. And if you want 49 inches then the samsung g93sc(glossy) or the philips 49M2C8900(semi-gloss). These two also have the same panel and are both 1440p,240hz. Samsung also has a smart version (95 instead of 93) or oled (sd) instead of sc, but i would get non smart, qd oled.

Get an oled 240hz ultrawide for gaming and keep the current monitor for work. Set it as a dual monitor setup. MSi 341cqpx, Dell aw3425dw, gigabyte mo34wqc2 …. All use the same panel so whatever is cheapest. If you need to use a laptop, go for the MSi since it has usb c dp alt mode and power delivery.

Simple question with 1000s of options and many of them will be good. I really like the Gigabyte MO34WQC2 because its much cheaper than similar OLED in my Country (750.- USD converted)

Just got the MO34WQC2, so far so good. Awesome monitor from the looks of it. I don't notice the text fringing, no VRR flicker so far. Of course I'll put it through its paces later. I've been recommended this monitor by others redditors and it was the cheapest 34inch 240Hz OLED so I went for it
