Is it just me or are these prices insane? I snagged the 34GS95QE-B for about €680 last September in Spain. I checked the prices now on Amazon.es and the same model is sitting at €720.
I went from the aoc cu34g2xp to an LG 34gs95qe and agree with what you said. The aoc was a decent monitor, I didn’t notice any smearing or other issues VA’s can have. The LG is beautiful, OLED looks so much better. I personally love the 800r curve it has as well.
I think this monitor is the sweetspot for an ultrawide monitor. I am using the 34GS95QE and while i am mostly using it for singleplayer gaming, i sometimes do some productivity on it and the higher resolution of the GX9 would let me fit two programms on the screen side by side just a little bit better. At the moment i sometimes need just a little bit more space. And the higher dpi will probably look stunning while gaming!
I have a oled 34' uw from LG and I like it a lot! I tried 32' 4k ips on a Lan party side by side and liked the uw format a lot more. But I recommend to test both yourself as it seems to be quite the personal choice
LG. Don’t waste your time with any of the Samsung qd oleds, they are all junk. Just make sure you get a GS model, like the LG 34gs95qe-b. Over the span of 3 weeks I tried the Samsung g85sb, g60sd, and g80sd. The fringing on the 1st Gen qdoled panels is so bad that using the g85sb for any more than 30 minutes resulted in a migraine that lasted the rest of the day which is something I had never experienced before. Despite what reviews say, the gen 3 panels yielded little to no improvement over the gen 1 as far as fringing goes. 2 more blaring issues that are prominent on all QD OLED displays are 1. Elevated blacks and 2. A very slight purple/pink tint to everything. Both issues play off of eachother and even in a pitch black room with only the screen on, the screen will pick up its own light and boost blacks and glow ever so slightly pinkish as a result. The LG 34GS95QE-B on the other hand looks very close to my 55” C4 and has the perfect blacks that you expect when buying an OLED. Don’t be fooled by the glossy diehards either. On a TV, sure glossy can be much nicer. But on a PC monitor I’ve found the matte to be the way to go.
800r curve is great, Takes 5 mins to get used to. I had a sammy g85sb (1800r) for a week before I returned it. That monitor may as well have been flat with how weak the curve was, and I actually preferred using my flat 55” c4 in 3440x1440 over the Sammy monitor. Different story when comparing my 34gs95qe-b to the c4 though.
It will always be worth returning anything Samsung for an LG or literally any other brand of device. As for going 5k2k, hopefully you don’t expect a high refresh rate experience all of the time and don’t play competitively. Imagine 4k but marginally worse as far as performance goes. It will probably be a generation or two before computer hardware catches up and those monitors are actually viable. I’ll be sticking with my LG 34GS95QEB until hardware catches up.
I had the same concerns and I love my 34GS95QE
Personally I’m very satisfied with my LG 34GS95QE. Idk if it’s available to you and for what price but in Germany it’s pretty cheap right now, has great picture quality. It’s matte, I also have the 27GS95QE which is the same monitor but not ultrawide. And honestly I have the feeling matte is the way to go. People talk, people sometimes sneeze and what not. It’s impossible to not have any kind of dirt on your screens and might it be very small. Good luck keeping this glossy screens clean. At least for the Alienware I heard it’s nearly impossible to keep clean.
Absolutely love my LG 34GS95QE, but it's a constant reminder that I now also need to upgrade my second monitor to OLED.
Got the LG 34GS95QE-B a few months ago and it’s been awesome. Super crisp, crazy fast response, and the OLED contrast makes story games pop. 49” G9 is tempting for immersion, but honestly 34” feels like the sweet spot between usable and cinematic.
Hi, I think I am the man in your mind lol. Just changed from LG 34UC79G to LG 34GS95QE after 5 years. The bad news is, there is no real 4k monitor with high refresh rate on the market at now, the only one that suits real 4k+high refresh rate is the Dell U4025QW, 120hz but with a 5ms response. So 1440p just fine, and for ultra wide monitors, it will use more gpu than the normal size monitors.
just try and return them. I ordered a LG34GS95Q and Asus XG32UCWMG. ultra wide is nice but i preferedd the more vertical space of 32 innch anc crispy 4k!
