Based on 1 year's data from Mar 17, 2026 How it works
I had the MSI MAG on my rig for ~2 years, and it was great for solo hot lapping, but I probably wouldn't recommend it for live racing. It gives a great view of the whole front windshield, but the screen ends right as the mirrors start to come into frame so I never felt like I had a good sense of space when side by side on track. In terms of the monitor's actual performance, it was a solid monitor but I'm not sure the 34" uw is the "sweet spot" between single screen and triples that I had hoped it was going to be compared to a 16:9 screen. I can't speak to the productivity side of things as it currently is sitting on the closet floor waiting for a function as it doesn't fit into my monitor layout of my desk in a way that's worth taking up the extra space right now, but for the web browsing I would do as part of sourcing mods, software adjustments/updates, etc.. I really enjoyed the monitor
Que tal el ghosting? Yo me compré uno similar (MSI 34" VA 3440x1440 144Hz) y el ghosting que tiene eso es tremendo. Para ver películas está bien pero para juegos es muy notorio. Nunca más me compro un panel VA.
I ordered it today and will receive in few days,. I will post here with UFO test. Hows your experience going overall?
Yeah been using it more than a month and it is great for me.
Budget Ultrawide that actually looks decent: [Amazon.com: MSI Optix MAG342CQR 1500R Curvature 21:9 Aspect Ratio Narrow Bezel 1ms 3440 x 1440 (UWQHD) 144Hz Refresh Rate Tilt/Swivel/Height/Pivot Adjustment 34" AMD Freesync Gaming Curved Monitor, Black : Electronics](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08S8W3MMM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAYnJpZBExaGNOazZhME9VMXZzN0JsawEegqhAUEBQvw_zRLhnmOEvDwfoj2F4SGg6x-QIOFCpuRskSSOftWs27TdMH7E_aem_I_x96EqlsWxLgCk0Fl3XHw)
Yeah, it still looks decent for the price tho, the price of this monitor should allow him to grab a 5070TI, The only complaint I've seen from reviewers was its peak brightness.
|Monitor|Best For|Verdict| |:-|:-|:-| |**MSI MAG 342CQR E2**|Gaming + All-round use|**Best bang for buck**✅ – high res, high refresh, strong specs at ₹30,999| |**LG 34GP63A-B**|Content creation + professional color|🔧 Best for creatives — great display, trusted brand| |**Zebronics N34A**|Budget users|⚠️ Only if your budget is super tight and you don’t mind the lower resolution| # 🔥 Go for the MSI MAG 342CQR E2 As your **first ultrawide**, it’s the perfect mix of: * High resolution * Smooth refresh rate * Gaming and productivity features And it's on a huge 62% discount.
**1000R curvature**, which gives a more immersive feel, especially in FPS or racing games. But just so you know: * The **Odyssey G5** is only **VA panel**, which means deeper blacks but not as vibrant as the MSI MAG 342CQR’s **DCI-P3 95%** color coverage. * It’s also **only 165Hz** vs **180Hz** on the MSI (not a huge difference, but still). * And G5’s HDR is **HDR10**, but **not truly bright enough** to give a strong HDR experience. So unless the 1000R curve is a *must-have* for your setup, the **MSI is more balanced overall** — better panel quality, smoother refresh, and wider color space for both gaming + media.
MSI Mag only. Only 1 stock is left on Amazon. I hope nobody orders till evening.
Mine also is fine . Did you check the pbp/pip functions? HDR ? Etc
I was all in on a 49” but ended up with two 34” monitors. MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED - the main monitor I game and watch stuff on. & MSI Optix MAG342CQR VA - secondary monitor for all other stuff while gaming or watching. I just have them next to eachother but my mount allows me to freely move them both around, so I could make either vertical with ease. Edit: I run my main monitor @240hz and the secondary monitor @ 60hz.
I got the MSI MAG34(something something) in around 2020 as a good budget option and it's still going strong, not had any issues at all.
In short. For me in my case no. I have both. An older MSI 34 VA 3440x1440 curved which I used to game on and bought a LG C2 42 Oled 2 years ago. Never would go back to the MSI for gaming. I just use it to work from home and slip it on the side whenever I want to start a Game. I know the MSI is not on oled but I love the size and the screen so much more on the LG. Plus the LG can do Ultrawide also which I use here and there for demanding titles and just because of better frames. If you can go 4K and have the hardware to do so then I would go 16:9. I don't miss the ultrawide and the 21:9 ratio at all.
I've already ordered the MSI MAG 34-inch monitor. Which one did you get — the MSI MAG or the LG?
