On the VA field, anything that has an HVA panel (also called Fast VA) is your best choice. I know TCL hase these types of panels which also have improved viewing angles vs a regular VA. I myself have a TCL 34R83Q ultrawide, 1500rcurve and MINILED and it's great. I upgraded from an hp X34 flat IPS ultrawide.

For the same reason there are no curved IPS panels... It's difficult. Since there are no curved IPS panels, no one wants to make 34" UW panels because it is simply horrible to use such a wide flat panel. Now, we are no longer in 2022 and earlier where only Samsung panels above the G6 were good VA panels, now panels made by TCL CSOT, using Samsung's old factories and their patents are capable of decent performance. The difficult part is finding monitors that use these panels... For now, I can confirm that AOC CU34G2XP and CU34G4Z KTC H34S18 Lenovo G34W-30 Philips Evnia 34M2C3500L TCL 34R83Q They are the only ones that do or do use these "new" HVA panels from TCL CSOT which have performance in response times much higher than the rest of the VA panels not made by TCL.

I just got mine yesterday and unfortunately, there's some issues with panel, You can see in [this video](https://imgur.com/a/sdCyQPC) that the local dimming zones are lighting as I change the brightness, but not in an uniform way. This only happens on the right side of my monitor. I couldn't get the HDR mode to look good, it looks terrible in my opinion, both on windows and on mac. I'm feeling disappointed with this purchase, but I don't know of any other alternatives in this price range for mixed used.. EDIT: I reached out to support and after a few emails they said to repair/return it. Unfortunately Amazon does whatever it wants and I have no way without hassle to trigger a repair. I think for this price range, I shouldn’t have to worry about calibration and it should look great from the get go, but I keep fiddling with the settings because of the blooming effect that’s very clear in a lot of circumstances.

UPDATE: I reached out to Amazon, I had to speak to the customer support and they started an RMA and sent me a replacement unit, which I'm using now. It just looks GREAT. The other monitor's panel definetely had a severe issue. This one has no problem whatsoever. Highly recommend\* (when the panel works uniformely)

I have the TCL34r83q mini in 34 inches I use it to work (office, excel, power bi) and play league of legend and it's perfect High refresh rate, superb brightness, beautiful color contrast And USB C socket which allows you to charge and connect a laptop or tablet or phone to your screen to expand the screen of your tablet. All the advantages of good gaming screens without the OLED burn in disadvantage Honestly I hesitated to take the EVNIA 34 too but the OLED has too many disadvantages + the fan at the back which makes a crazy noise I don't really know if the evnia 34 VA is worth it?

I have a weird issue with this monitor. I am trying to hook it up to my PS5, using the 1440p resolution to get 120 Hz over HDMI (since on 2160p, only 60Hz are supported). However, whenever I set the PS5 to a resolution below 2160p, the monitor will stretch the whole image to the full 21:9 width, which of course doesn't look good at all. But then 120 Hz VRR + HDR is working. I do NOT have this problem under Windows, neither over HDMI nor over USB-C. How can I change it so that PS5 image isn't stretched in 1440p?

WIth 100 Brightness, I get a LOT of dithering effects in darker grey areas in games (i.e. RE4 Remake). Does that not bother you or is it not noticable on your own screen?

I bought the TCL 34" mini-led just a couple of weeks ago. It's my second 34" and an upgrade from my old Asus IPS. Perfect mix between productivity and gaming.

Just bought a 34" TCL 34R83Q VA miniled. OLED is not an option because of lacking brightness (a window in front of the screen) and usually a glossy panel (there are some matte WOLEDs but WOLED is a no-no because of black chrominance overshoot which is horrendous in addition to OLED text fringing- I also have a LG C3 as a bedroom tv). I'm very pleased and generally I'd say its pretty close to an OLED picture quality wise and no fear of burn in. I also do a lot of productivity. It's extremely, extremely bright and HDR is very impressive, I think it has an HDR1400 certificate. The panel is also a fast VA, which is much faster than normal VA and with minimal ghosting and the blacks are very black even without the 1100 dimming zones, which can be used preferably in gaming/movies. The display is also Pantone certified and is marketed as a professional display and matches your specifications pretty well. I did a lot, a lot of research between oled and minileds and ended up with this one in the end. I don't think there are better non-OLED ultrawide options at the moment.

I just got my new TCL monitor, and I cannot edit any settings except Brightness and Local Dimming. Every other setting is greyed out. I am using DP. No way to set Contrast, Aspect, Sharpness, Gamma. Any idea why?
