"I like the bag. Our bagless vacuums always made a MESS cloud of dust when trying to empty them in the kitchen. I'd have to go outside, and it would still make a cloud all over me. This was easy, close the lid on the bag, lift it out, toss it in the trash, put a new one in. It holds more than I'd typically think, because unlike our bagless, the dirt all gets packed into the bag, it gets more dense. So it holds more than you would expect."
"We've neglected the hell out of it. It has 1555 hours on it with minimal maintenance. Ran it every night for 4 years or so. So I always thought these things were tanks. It still works"
"All the parts that will have tangled hair (like rollers, empty bin, rotating brushes, and wheels) are extremely easy to remove and clean, almost with no tools needed. I literally take only ten minutes to remove every dog hair inside the system."

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."
"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."
"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"I use the bagged canister design for the whole house and for every mess. Even pet hair."
"Sebo vacs with the ET-1 nozzle (adjustable suction, manual carpet height adjustment) ... Adjustable carpet height paired with adjustable suction are must have features for those types of carpet, but I like them for any type of carpet. ... to get a vacuum movable on that type of carpet, the suction has to be turned down, carpet height adjusted, and/or the suction has to be redirected through an airflow vent valve on the nozzle, to relieve some of the pressure."
"Does great on tile, wood, and carpet."

"Does fantastic with dog hair."
"it's designed so well, it's a joy to vacuum 2x daily (concrete floors/live at the beach with a long-haired GSD, I vacuum constantly)."
"it's a dream/works so well. ... I am shocked (kinda disgusted at times!) at how much it picks up."

"I’m constantly cleaning tanged hair from the brushes. ... I’m honestly tired of cleaning the brushes with a scissors 😩"
"It’s so inefficient i need to empty it after every use because the dust pocket smears dust at the base and my hair gets tangled in the rubber brush."
"For instance, I burned through rollers on my i7 Roomba, and in retrospect, although they convinced me it was normal, it was not, I should have asked for a refund."

"$179 is pretty nuts. ... As long as people keep buying them and paying the esports tax, they're gonna keep selling them at this crazy price. ... The G305 feels really similar, but at 1/3 the price. ... I don't truely understand why the G pro light is all the rage. ... I used a G pro for a week, and while it did feel very smooth and responsive, I also had a G305 that felt very similar."

Same! We have one plug in vac (Dyson Ball Animal 3) for serious cleaning and my daily driver which is a cordless canister. Daily vacuuming with the stick keeps my house so clean in between deep cleans, makes me very happy.
I would keep it for that price of $279 because you may someday want to put carpet on your tile floors it you own your house because tile is very cold in the winter unless you live in a really warm climate in the winter. I got obsessed this year in 2025 with buying the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Complete vacuums with all the 10 attachments and I got it for a lower price than the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra with only 4 attachments and the Dyson Ball Animal 3 with only 2 attachments. I bought 4 of them on Dyson Website. On Dyson Website today on 04/19/2025 the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Complete is going for $399.00 with the 10 attachments, and the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is going for $499.00 with only 4 attachments, and the Dyson Ball Animal 3 is going for $399.00 with only 2 attachments. Dyson stopped making Corded Vacuums, but the Dyson Ball Animal 3 was released in Summer of 2022. I never want a Cordless Vacuum so I have bought 2 for my house for upstairs and downstairs and 2 for my other house that my son lives in for upstairs and downstairs and on Ebay I found 2 Brand New in the Box Dyson Ball Animal 3 Completes with all 10 attachments for $299.00 and another Dyson Ball Animal 3 Complete with all the 10 attachments for $270.00 and one Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra with 4 attachments for $213.00. I am stocking up because I want to start cleaning other peoples houses that are older and have a hard time cleaning their house so I want to have extra vacuum cleaners in case they break down and to last me until I die which I am already almost 73 years old and they are suppose to last 10 years if you wash the filters and replace the filters when needed and clean the cyclone on them the way Dyson recommends. I love the looks of them. They are so cute with that ball and the only vacuum I have ever seen with that cute ball. Cordless vacuums batteries run out after about 70 minutes and some of them if on high speed battery runs out after 5 or 10 minutes plus the batteries are expensive to replace and those cordless vacuums that Dyson sells are a lot more expensive than the Dyson Ball Animal 3 plus the Dyson Ball Animal 3 has a Detangle Brush Head where you do not have to cut off hair that gets tangled on the Brush Head. If you are cleaning a big house 70 minutes is not enough time so you better purchase an extra battery. Hope you will be happy with your Dyson.

Dyson Animal Ball 3…best thing ever
The absolute best is the Dyson Animal Ball 3. Make sure you get the “Pet Groom Tool” and the “Tangle-free turbine tool.” It’s truly amazing for when you have pets with long hair / shed https://preview.redd.it/75g3ldud4y5g1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34c02e0b0b76b04bceb005c1746429e6bbe43ae1
Dyson Ball Animal 3
V11 and later versions of their cordless perform ok for thick carpets. You have to open the front gates to relieve pressure. If you have a lot of carpet, you have to learn to stop cleaning your entire home in one go. If you really want a Dyson, I would personally only get the Ball Animal 3 for your thick carpets. It also works really well for hard floors. You should watch Vacuum War's review on it to see if it fits your needs. DO NOT get any other version of Dyson uprights, they are horrible and only work on very specific types of carpets. Otherwise, a Sebo upright is my next recommendation if you don't mind bagged.
I clean houses for a living and use a Dyson Animal 3 that’s refurbished for $199 on Amazon. It’s great on hardwoods and carpets. There’s an adjustable switch on the front that raises and lowers the height. I use it 20 hours a week and it’s lasted for a year. Granted, I’m on my second one in two years, but my mom broke my other one. They are workhorses
I went through 2 "cheap" Vacs before I got the Dyson Ball Animal 3. It just works so much better. I've had it for 2 years and i have no complaints. I picked it up at Costco on sale for like $279
Dyson ball animal 3 is a great option, we have had uk models similar to it for 7 years and they are still standing strong
Canister vacuum: Dyson cinetic big ball (no maintainance) / Dyson big ball (filter to maintain) Both have hygienic bin emptying (your finger doesnt go near the waste disposal area) It’s easy to reach around due to the extendable wand. Upright: Dyson ball upright vacuum (any) theyre easy to maintain, they have hygienic bin emptying, and they have a long wand on the back thats easy to use with the on board tools. Cordless: Dyson v12 (it’s small and uses a button power system, easy to manoeuvre) / Dyson gen5 (it’s normal size, uses a power button system and had a built in crevice and dusting brush combo). Both have hygienic bin emptying
Ok so firstly, never buy a shark. They’re some of the worst vacuums in the long run and break easily also shark bins are super small. If you want a Dyson corded, they sell the ball origin and the ball animal (discontinued on Dyson’s website) for £250-£300 so a little over budget. I personally prefer Dysons as bagless uprights as they’re super powerful and easy to use. The only downside is that they’re a little heavy compared to most vacuums. If there is anything else specific or of your not willing to get the Dysons because you don’t like the reviews or design or price just let me know in a reply.
100% would recommend. I have NEVER and I mean NEVER used another vacuum that even comes close to the suction power that dyson has. I got the one linked below two years ago (or very very similar) - yes it was around the same price and I would buy it again and again. The only issue I would say is make sure your rug is firmly stuck to the floor because it WILL suck it up. It's that powerful. I've tried multiple shark professional vacs and rainbow E2. They simply do not compare. When using the wand it will pull everything up to a 1 foot radius around it. Perfect for animal hair and very easy to keep clean with a washable filter. [https://www.dyson.com/vacuum-cleaners/uprights/ball-animal-3/complete-gold](https://www.dyson.com/vacuum-cleaners/uprights/ball-animal-3/complete-gold) ETA: I have three dogs and a cat and this vacuum is the only thing that can keep up.
