"haven't had a puncture over the four years I've had it"

"iRobot’s support is phenomenal. I had a product that didn’t work well in my house and after a couple quick and easy replacement units they upgraded my product."

"the company sent me a new one no questions asked."

"I bought one for a trip across the country, have used it on the plane and in the cars here. ... it’s perfect for the airport. ... I might have felt more compelled to travel earlier."

"Oh and it is the most perfectly amazing travel item. Flying is incredibly easy, it fits on the scanner at security and goes right back into being a stroller, then it can be a car seat on the plane, then the car seat in the car at your destination, then a stroller everywhere you go! It’s just great."

"I honestly loved it and loved not having to take my kid out of the car seat and put them into something else if we were going somewhere."

"it's designed so well, it's a joy to vacuum 2x daily (concrete floors/live at the beach with a long-haired GSD, I vacuum constantly)."

"Miele! We have 9 cats and a dog. ... It cleans up pet messes"

"I use the bagged canister design for the whole house and for every mess. Even pet hair."

"The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. ... I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson."

"it doesn’t have a bag"

"Why is no bags a bad thing? ... if you have an easy way to go outside like the garage, then emptying a cannister isn't hard at all. ... You don't have to replace bags or worry about them running out. ... I don't like the thought of having an additional part to replace constantly and don't want to go through the effort of stocking up bags. ... God forbid you're out of bags unexpectedly when vacuuming."

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."

"Good enough run time"

"About a year and the right bud would last about 15 minutes on a full charge."

"I've had them for a few years and now the battery doesn't last for more than 40 mins, so looking for a different model."

"An almost new pair I wore in a mountain 100 was dead after the race. ... It was all stretched out and even had a hole in the side when it wasn't that crazy technical of terrain."

"the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared."

"the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs ... I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs"

"The other head without the spinner is fucking ridiculously strong. ... I cannot vacuum a rug with it because it sucks so hard. ... I have to hold one side down with my foot and pull away and it's still hard haha."

"I hate to hold pressing the power button all the time."

"I couldn’t get over having to press the button down the entire time vacuuming."

"My v15 detect has been nothing but problems. ... I was having an issue where I would start the vacuum and it would cut power. Repress the trigger it would run for another few seconds then cut power. ... the first time they sent a new battery. It made the problem even worse."

"replacing a vacuum that died (Dyson) ... I will have probably bought 2-3 dysons in that time period"

"The Dyson battery was internal so you can't swap out a battery if it dies on you."

"I’ve had one for my V8 and it’s lasted longer than the oem now, plus it is a lather capacity battery too."

r/VacuumCleanersIve been trying to find a vacuum, I scoured the sub for hours. Conclusion? r/VacuumCleaners hate vacuum cleaners and apparently i should just buy a broom.

I just want to hop in and say that my V12 died within a year for being used once a week in a 2000.sq ft home. We wanted something light to carry up and down the stairs. It does work well, but it also just died . Dyson warranty covered a new one, but made us ship the old one back which was a pain. Overall wouldn't buy again.

r/VacuumCleanersbest upright vacuum recommendations? switching from canister
about 1 month ago

uprights are really more for carpets. a mostly hardwood apartment you could just go with a cordless stick vacuum I'd think, with a pet tool, that you can hang on a wall (no need for a large machine taking up limited space). I keep my old dyson around for quick/convenient cleanups... take off wall, vacuum 15 mins, put back on wall, never bend over! youd probably just need the hard floor "fluffy" tool and the (pet) hair screw tool... i'd go with the v12 if I had to replace today... lightest model, no-trigger, sub $400. If you buy a bagless machines you gotta empty it outside and clean/wash the filters outside (course the dyson thats not too bad since its very light). I switched from upright to canister and never looking back for some reasons that may apply to you: upright was heavier IN HAND... yeah the canister weighs a ton but I just kick it around... my floor supports the weight vs. my hand (and back) my old upright has been a pain to vacuum high places and stairs, using the pipe/wand I was always tilting over the upright. many uprights can't shut off the roller ever (even when using attachments), that could damage your hardwood floors (and wear out the roller)... because again uprights are mostly made for majority-carpet places no doubt a canister can be "difficult" to maneuver, in that you have to kick it around.. but the actual canister-head is easier to get under things / maneuver around furniture than an upright (IME).

Whilst it's less convenient, I find a canister vacuum the lightest to work with, although you do need to manoeuvre the machine around on the floor. With a canister you're barely holding any weight in your hand, it's all down on the floor. For above floor cleaning it's the best experience, and then for carpets and floors it's also easy as you're only pushing around the wand and floor head. In terms of lightweight sticks I don't know too many really I'm afraid. Sebo balance and Dyson V12 are both light. I can't speak to the longevity and quality of either though. I owned a V12 for a bit and it was light to use but I returned it as couldn't justify the expense for my daily runaround vacuum. I own a Levoit LVAC 200 which is...fine...but does a poor job on carpets, it will really only skim the surface. I replaced that with a Tineco Pure One Station Five. It's a bit heavier but it does the job and I picked it up new in box on eBay for about £125. The self empty station really helps and it does an ok job just keeping things looking clean. However I'm not sure how long it'll last as some of the joints are already getting creaky and loose.

I’d suggest nothing other than Dyson or Miele, for every reason you could possibly imagine, but unfortunately those would both exceed budget. They both last, have incredible and long lasting cordless power which is convenient, best airtight sealed HEPA filtration, good cleaning performance, brilliant on all floor types and is able to detect the difference and alter power, and Dyson is especially good with hair of all manner, got 3 cats and 3 long haired people and not ever a single one around one of my Dyson tools.

From Miele, Triflex HX2 Cat & Dog, or the Triflex HX2 Pro. They have around 60 minutes battery life, automatic flooring detection so it adapts to your hard floor in terms of brush bar power, the Pro comes with two batteries which is probably a bit overkill for a small flat, whereas the pet comes with a motorised brush bar pet tool, which the pet tool I can’t say wether it’s good or not because I don’t have that. I just know Miele do some very good quality and long lasting vacuums that everyone raves about. From Dyson, considering you’re in a small flat, you’d probably be best with the V12 Detect™ Slim, it has a smaller dust bin but would be fine in a smaller space, it also has 60 minutes run time, adaptive cleaning which changes suction according to how dirty an area is, the green light is brilliant and so much better than just a white headlight (as gimmicky as it sounds) it really does light up the dust, and the pet-like tool (it’s called the hair screw) has not once had hair around it on mine (and we have 2 long haired people and 3 cats), it’s always hair free because it’s cone like design the hair works its way down the cone and gets sucked up, I love the hair screw tool. And also I wouldn’t worry about changing from corded to cordless despite what people say, it’s the difference between a good and a bad one, the bad ones only last about 20 minutes, my Dyson boasts 60 but I can get a good 90 mins out of it, and if you’re in a small space then it will be ample anyways, I live in a 3 bed rather large flat with hard floor and carpet (and the carpet uses more power for suction and brush bar speed) but I can get everywhere done and still have battery left.

r/dysonWhich Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it?

I like our V12 with detect light for our hardwood floors and tiles. It’s been going for 3 years and does fine as long as you clean and replace filters. It lacks the battery life and grunt to properly clean our large area rugs, so we use a corded bagged commercial vac for those.

Ryobi’s parent company also owns Hoover. I think the future of cordless vacuums is going to look a lot more like the power tool model. One battery platform, many tools. The Dyson model of one battery (which may or may not be in stock on our website), one vacuum is obsolete.

We use our cordless vacuum just for the hardwood floors and tiles. We used a bagged, corded vacuum to clean area rugs. If I run the Dyson stick over the rugs, I can run the 12 amp Hoover after and still suck up a bunch of dog fur the Dyson missed.

Disagree. I’ve got the same vacuum. The laser does see all the dust, the vacuum sucks it up but what you seem to be missing is how dusty a house can be (not just the floor but the air too) Just walking around will stir that up with air movement and it settles again. I stopped using the laser (I call it the gem of true sight) for this reason. But the vacuum itself is awesome. I know because I see the amount it picks up in the canister.

When you've used a proper Miele or Sebo plug in vacuum you know how shitty the suction on the Dyson is.

I own a C3 and a Dyson V12. While is does work it isn't good at all. It does basic maintenance cleans and not much else.
