"The other head without the spinner is fucking ridiculously strong. ... I cannot vacuum a rug with it because it sucks so hard. I have to hold one side down with my foot and pull away and it's still hard haha."

"3 dog's and 3 cats with all carpet. ... that thing fuckin rips. ... it works too good and everytime I use it I have to take scissors and cut the hair that's caught around the head in the brushes but it's not the vacuums fault I have a fucking hobby farm on a carpet sooo."

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."

"being cordless and effective for what I need. ... For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. ... I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now."

"One thing I really love is how it came with two batteries. ... Never have I ran out of a charge."

Every other brand thats been put in our hands has broken in a few days or couple of weeks, so the company splurged for the good ones and they have probably already paid for themselves."

I’ve had the V15 detect for 4 years now and it’s as strong now as it was when I first bought it. I do clean it regularly and change the filters every couple of weeks. I thought the battery was declining but turned out the charger was defective and a new charger brought my battery and my replacement battery up to 100%. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned.

I have the V15 and am very satisfied with it. I think the V8 will serve you well for small pickups around the house. It’s very convenient to just grab a small vacuum like this to clean up small bits here and there. I cut my hair at home and this thing is awesome for cleaning up afterwards, as well as cleaning the messes that my boxer creates throughout the day.

I have the V15 detect. I love it so much I would marry it. It has that light and shows every spec of dust and dog hair. I have dachshund dogs . The only thing I will say if you have OCD this dyson makes you crazy I do vacuum more with this model , but worth every penny.

I have had the Dyson V15, the Shark, and the LG CordZero and so far, LG is the huge winner because of its price and power. It is most comparable to the V15, without the price tag. We had the dyson for about 18months before its motor started to go (apparently a well known issue) so we returned it. The LG has been as powerful as the v15, and I prefer its attachments over the dyson. We have hardwood, tile, and some high pile and low pile rugs. LG does a great job on them all as a “daily driver” where I need dust, cat hair, crumbs, and dirt picked up.

r/VacuumCleanersWhatever you do - never buy a Dyson

I bought a V15 detect late last year. The green laser with the fluffy head worked great for pet fur on hard floors--better than my canister vac. But the combo power head broke within 2 weeks. Could not get a hold of Dyson service. Replacement power heads were out of stock online. I was not interested in a $900 stick vac that only does hard floors, so I returned the whole thing to Costco and bought a Samsung Bespoke. Found a stick on green laser on Amazon that works decent (though not as good as Dyson's). I will never again buy another Dyson.

r/VacuumCleanersIs there a affordable alternative to the Dyson V15 vacuum?

I bought a V15 last year and thought it was quite powerful. But the power head broke within 2 weeks and replacements were out of stock. So I returned it and got a Samsung Bespoke Jet. The Samsung is strong enough on the min setting to do a quick touch up of the house (mainly pet hair pick up), which results in a long run time of about an hour. The combo head does not need to be switched when moving from hard floor to area rugs/carpets. The charging stand that comes with the unit will also empty the dust bin. For me, my reason for getting a cordless vacuum was for the convenience to do quick touch ups without dragging out the canister vacuum, and the Samsung fulfills that better than the Dyson.

r/VacuumCleanersbest cordless vacuum that actually has strong suction?

I have the V15 Detect™ (Total Clean) and the battery is between 12 and 8 minutes on ‘Boost’ depending on which tool you use. But, you don’t usually ever need to use ‘Boost’. I’ve used it a handful of times, whereas I’ve used other cordless machines and it’s so inadequate on carpet that I have to use whatever the maximum power option is. The other thing about it, is it boasts 60 minutes of battery life, and I can get more or less again depending on what tool I use. So if I use the Fluffy Optic™ tool on the hard floor, with ‘Eco’ then I can easily get 90 minutes. With the Digital Motorbar™ on ‘Eco’ then I can get 70 minutes. On Auto with the Fluffy Optic™ tool on hard floor, around 50 minutes. And with the Digital Motorbar™ across hard floor and carpet, around 45 minutes. Which is better than the average cordless vacuum cleaner. It can do our three bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, kitchen, bathroom, hall and landing and still have a bit of life left in it.

V8 had a crap battery and wasn’t powerful. Like half as powerful as the V15 if that. I have the V15, best purchase.

Not here. My Dysons can’t compare with my corded Miele.

Boost mode is good for only 10 minutes and the battery runs out. I can’t even do ½ of the first floor with my Dyson V15 Outlast. Even on boost my Dyson won’t pick up cat litter. One pass & my Miele gets it…at half power.

The Dyson sticks are highly overrated. To obtain adequate suction power, you need to use the high setting but your battery will only run for 10 minutes tops.

r/CatAdviceCan someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?!

We're using a Dyson V15 detect! We've had it for a year (10 months with cats) . So far so good! It's easy to clean, the green light thing is a huge help in detecting cat hair on surfaces! Also has an attachment for carpets.
