"I think its hands down the best all around option right now, especially once you hook it up to the water line and drain, i run it daily in our house and we got rid of our cleaning help because of it."
"I have an even thicker rug than this and my Curv has no issues ... It's the reason I bought mine because I have an even thicker rug than that and no robot could even climb onto it"
"I found that it was even able to get up caked on Kitty vomit if I simply sprayed those areas with cleaning vinegar beforehand. ... I was pleasantly surprised."

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."
"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."
"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."
"being cordless and effective for what I need. ... For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. ... I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now."
"One thing I really love is how it came with two batteries. ... Never have I ran out of a charge."

"I replaced the battery with an aftermarket one when the original’s battery life went way down. Works like brand new again."
"was super easy to replace"
"it works like new now."

"The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. ... I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson."
"it doesn’t have a bag"
"Why is no bags a bad thing? ... if you have an easy way to go outside like the garage, then emptying a cannister isn't hard at all. ... You don't have to replace bags or worry about them running out. ... I don't like the thought of having an additional part to replace constantly and don't want to go through the effort of stocking up bags. ... God forbid you're out of bags unexpectedly when vacuuming."

"Yeah the battery life on Apple Watch is pathetic. ... Like I have the 4G Apple watch which I wear when I am out of town just in case my iphone dies or gets broken and I am in an emergency. That happened to me a few months back. I had my watch and only my watch. I had 4G turned on for emergency services and GPS turned on so I can find my way home. Convienent and life saving right? Except the stupid thing died after an hour and after that I was stuck with no communication abilities at all in the middle of the night wandering the streets. What good is having all of those capabilities if they are just going to die on you after 10 minutes? ... other than as an emergency backup for my phone (which I have now proven is a joke in a real life emergency)"
"If I record for more than 14 minutes it will freeze and battery is already almost dead. This is at night night by the way so temperature isn't high."
"the battery now wears out very quickly - after about 1 hour of usage."

"The out of warranty repair cost was 75% of what a new one would cost so I chucked it."
"Razor products are super cheaply made and break all the time. ... I went through 3 Nagas before I switched to the Corsair Symitar and its lasted me 4 times as long as any of the Nagas I had"
"they broke so damn fast"

"I have KEF Q150 with a 150 euro amp. They sound drastically better than a Sonos Move 2. They're different products but for the same price you have way better sound, it's not even close."
"costing $1000-$1200, respectively ... can't, in good faith, recommend a high-end Garmin to anyone who isn't rich"
"Addressing the Move, it’s a nice speaker and overpriced for what it does. ... I feel $250-300 is really what it should cost. ... If I reviewed it, it would get hammered on its value."

"But it was literally just pushing around debris on the floor."
"the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared."
"the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs ... I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs"

"I hate to hold pressing the power button all the time."
"I couldn’t get over having to press the button down the entire time vacuuming."
"My v15 detect has been nothing but problems. ... I was having an issue where I would start the vacuum and it would cut power. Repress the trigger it would run for another few seconds then cut power. ... the first time they sent a new battery. It made the problem even worse."
Dyson has a great [handheld car vacuum cleaner](https://productbible.com/product/dyson-car-handheld-vacuum-cleaner). its cordless and comes with attachments to get into tight spots like between seats and under pedals.
yeah, it only weighs a few pounds and is a little larger than regular handheld vacuums, so its easy to do spot cleaning with. its much more powerful than the cheaper alternatives too
Still love my V6 Animal, got a battery adapter and run a Milwaukee battery on it now. Heavier but runs for much longer, and very easy to swap out to a fresh battery.
I had one of each, purchased long ago at the same time. The 3 motorized wands worked on car+boat sometimes and would not spin sometimes. Never had that issue with the unit they came with.
I have had a refurbished V6 Animal since 2016. I used it daily until I bought a robovac two years ago and have used it twice a week since then. I have had parts die and need replacement but the body still works great and is plenty powerful for hard floors with short pile rugs. After my fluffy head died, though, and the normal head is on its last legs, I was debating buying new heads vs buying a refurbished V12 slim. I found a good deal with the detect fluffy head and both the full size and mini motor heads, and while it does seem to do a better job than the V6 (along with much better battery life), I wouldn't hesitate to continue using the V6 for my main vac if I needed to.
I have a Dyson Animal (v6 I think) that has lasted me almost 10 years, although I had to replace the battery once. I mounted the charger in a small closet where I keep my cleaning stuff and it takes up next to no space, which I appreciate and I would have loved when I had a studio apartment. Mine is cordless/bagless and I wish I could cover larger spaces before having to empty the canister…but 3 cats create a lot of tumbleweeds. I like it, but for full disclosure I turn to my DeWalt Shop Vac for larger/heavy duty vacuuming.
Have not tried all those , even any of those… we have an old V6 “Animal” cordless… and its great everywhere. Never broken. ( Also we have a corded vacuum) We have a 1200 sf home 800 carpet, 400 tile…and it does not always last through a thorough vacuuming of the home, especially if we have missed a few days . but does it all if it’s just a quick daily vacuum. It’s also perfect for a quick spot vacuuming or the trail of dirt the kids dragged in. These things use washable filters that look clean from the outside… it’s all inside and you’re not gonna see it’s dirty. Just wash by hand like monthly and allow to dry, or have a back up… It will perform better when kept clean. If you forget for a long time, it will vacuum poorly. PS. We’ve owned it long long time.. enough to change batteries twice… get the Dyson batteries only. Amazon specials do not work right. It’s easy to do.
I have the old cordless V6+ Animal and been using it EVERYDAY for about 3 years now. EVERYDAY.. (Hardwood floors and carpet). Love it. Never had a vacuum as good as this.
> Ease of use is important to me.. lightweight, easy to maneuver, and not overly complicated With how lightweight and maneuverability is important to you, I'd recommend a Dyson. I own both a Miele C1 and the Dyson V6 animal and although the Miele is more powerful, it's a bit more cumbersome to use since you have to drag around the motor and find an outlet to plug it into. The Dyson, although not as powerful, operates on battery, lightweight and is much easier to move around. All the features that seemed very important.
I treated myself to one 15 years ago and it's still going strong; have never even needed it serviced. Mine is one up from the basic cheapest model. I forget but yeah I think I paid $500-600. We'd recently gone through many lower cost vacs and we were ready for a more BIFL product. I bought it for myself for my 45th bday. We stayed at a rustic AirBNB camp that had a Miele from the 70s. The cord no longer retracted, but it still worked great. Even with sucking up dried leaves twigs dirt and gravel on the daily. I'll mention we also have some robots and a stick vacuum; those were found on the curb and my husband refurbished them. I vastly prefer the Miele, but it's nice to have options. The stick is good for quick cleanups, the robots are good for extending the time between deep vacuuming.
We have Dyson animal 4 and 6, both found on the curb, and refurbished by my husband. I like it for doing the stairs and furniture and area rugs. I also like that my husband will more often vacuum with one of these, rather than me having to vacuum. And we have a Brava (purchased), and a Eufy (found on the curb). I do like the Eufy. We had Roombas from the earliest models onward, because my husband likes robots. But the Eufy is better. The Brava is nice and quiet but I think it's just a glorified swiffer and just pushes all the dirt into the corners making more work for me when I get out the Miele. It'll work okay as a wet mop in a small space like our tiled bathrooms. We use the Miele once a week and the other stuff more sporadically. The lesson here is if you are on a budget, you can find vacs for free on the curb, pay to refurbish or learn to do it yourself (also disinfect, ack!!). But we've never ever seen a Miele being thrown out!!!!
This. I have a 10 year old v6 animal and goes like a champ. Regular maintenance (like anything man made) is crucial. The batteries will eventually fail but thats an easy replacement in which you have more options than using Dyson brand.
