"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

The 4050 or 600 series. The rest are missing too many features or compromised some other way. Which one of those comes down to budget and form factor preference.

r/VacuumCleanersIs it worth it to buy "pet" specific models?

For what it’s worth the C1 cat and dog is on sale for $630. Short of that, Kenmore 600 or 800 series canister. I’d strongly advocate for the Miele though.

r/VacuumCleanersMiele CX1 for $200 is it worth it.

Look at Kenmore then. 600 series or BU4050

If you can bump your budget - a Sebo dart would be fantastic. Otherwise. Kenmore 600 series or Kenmore intuition BU4050. You want something corded **and bagged**

r/VacuumCleanersPlease help me find a good vacuum before I lose my mind.

If you prefer an upright - Sebo dart. If you like a canister style - Kenmore 600 series or if you can stretch your budget a Sebo K3 or Miele C1 cat and dog.

Kenmore is your best bet. I’m not a fan of the 200 series (although it cleans well) it’s very compromised (short cord and hose). Look at the 400 series or 600 series if you can catch it on a sale. Or a Kenmore Intuition BU4050 if you like uprights.

r/VacuumCleanersLooking for the Best Vacuum Cleaner that Actually Lasts?

Never buy a Bissell. While their higher end models have excellent filtration (HEPA filters and sealed systems) the only problem is you can't wash them. Every Bissell I've had, I find if you wash their "washable" filters, they stink after. Like the exhaust will smell like wet musky dog. So it's best to replace them. Never had experience with Hoover. But both Bissell and Hoover are low quality compared to Shark, Dyson and Miele. Dysons offer great raw suction, however I don't care for the canisters. After a period of use, you'll have to clean those cyclones as they'll get full of dust. Also, they aren't that good on high pile carpeting or rugs (they're difficult to handle on high pile carpeting and they tend to get door rugs sucked up into the brush roll). I used to run Sharks. I actually collected a few. I had an old model I salvaged that worked good on carpets, I had one of the first powered lift aways. That was my all time favorite because it worked the best especially on carpets of all heights, not good on door rugs because the rug would get stuck in the brush roll due to the suction, did well on hard floors, not as good as their duo clean models. I had 2 different duo cleans (one powered lift away one not) you definitely want the powered lift away model. It'll clean under your beds unlike the regular lift away (I had the la500 that wasn't a powered lift away, I loved it. The power fins don't get hair tangles like a traditional brush roll and the duo clean cleaned my hard floors amazing, but the powered lift away I'd use to clean under beds) one of the best things about the power fins is vacuuming your mattress. If you've never done this, then I'd highly recommend the Shark Vertex or Stratos. You'll be absolutely disgusted at what it pulls out your mattress. I no longer use a bagless vacuum though. I recently had the privilege of salvaging a mid 90s Oreck. When I salvage and fix a vacuum, I always would test it on my carpet and see how it preforms against my Shark Nv752 and if they'd do well I'd keep them (sometimes I'd sell them if I didn't want it), well I used the Oreck first then went behind it with the Shark nv752 and the canister was empty. So I was disappointed my shark wasn't as good as a bagged vacuum. I bought a Kenmore Intuition and put it up against my nv752 and it also did better than the Shark. So I ended up selling 3 of my sharks and gave the 752 to my grandmother to replace her old shark nv501. She loves it and she says it's good enough for her needs and it worked better than her old one. The good thing about going to a good quality bagged vacuum is not having to clean the filters ever month and not having to dump the canister after every use. So far (after 4 months of having the Oreck and Kenmore), I rather the Oreck for carpets and I rather their HEPA bags because you get literally no smell. The Kenmore I find will have a bit of a smell after sitting up between uses. However I suck up some downy crystals every so often, but they make special odor elimination tablets for bagged vacuums. So they are pretty much low maintenance compared to bagless. Idk your budget, but if I were in your shoes, these are the exact 2 vacuums I'd recommend for you: the Shark AZ2002 Vertex (if you want bagless, comes with a crevice tool, dusting/upholstery tool and I do believe it comes with an air powered turbo tool) or the Kenmore 81615 (if you want bagged, it's a canister vacuum so it'll be lighter for you to handle and great accessories. It comes with a multi floor power head, a hard floor only attachment, crevice tool, dusting brush and a motorized mini brush roll - a motorized version of a turbo tool). Both would be great multi floor options, the advantage of the shark vertex is the power fins so no hair tangled brush roll, and it'll clean your mattress amazing, the advantage of the Kenmore is you have 2 floor cleaning tools so it'll be better of a multi surface cleaner and it has a motorized turbo tool instead of air powered compared to the Shark. If you want one for the shark you have to buy it separately for like 40- 50 dollars. Price wise, the Shark AZ2002 costs about $420, the Kenmore costs $312 (prices brand new on Amazon). Personally if I were you, I'd go with the Kenmore for the better accessories and slightly cheaper price. Plus no big box store sells them. You have to get it via Amazon or on the Kenmore website. I hope this info helps and sorry it was so much lol. Please let me know what you chose to get and I'd love to hear how it works for you

An upright will store in less space, but a canister with a power nozzle is more versatile overall. Kenmore canisters are a solid choice. SEBO and Miele will last longer, but obviously cost a substantial amount more. Look at the Kenmore 400 model canister if you can stretch your budget a bit. The BC3005 you mentioned is fine, just basic. The 400 has a brush roll that will help fight hair wrap - not completely maintenance free, but it will help. [Kenmore 400 Series Canister](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FSCZ3DQC?tag=psuni-01-US-5242-20&ascsubtag=wtbs_6913e60ca7cf93504d9c3701&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) Another good Kenmore option - no headlight, but has a motorized hand tool for cleaning upholstery and carpeted stairs. I had a kenmore caister. Worked great and lasted 10 years. Much more affordable than sebo or miele.

I also found a "near-new, used only a couple of times", Kenmore 600 series on Facebook, as our other Kenmore finally bit the dust after about 15 years. I also can tell the build quality of this 600 isn't the same from previous models, but knowing that we are in the age of planned obsolescence on pretty much everything, I realize this canister won't last 15 years. But, it will do the job as we will be looking to downsize and the future is uncertain of what kind of flooring we will have. Still looking for a light, day-to-day quick to pick up vacuum mainly for fur of 2 Golden's and 4 cats, especially for carpeted stairs. Since the Golden's are in the "get rid of the summer coat" season, I try to brush daily to keep down clumps of fur everywhere, but still need to vacuum and or carpet rake nearly every day in high shedding season.

I’d recommend a Kenmore canister 600 series. They’re a solid performer. Reasons to get bagged and corded. Bagged keeps the suction and performance solid because filters can’t get clogged up. The Kenmore 600 series comes with an electric handheld powerhead that is great for removing hair from furniture. For the price point, Kenmore is the best. Lastly, canisters are superior to uprights when there are multiple surfaces because they can clean wall to wall and from floor to ceiling.

Sharks are definitely meant to be trashed after a year or two and lost suction quickly. Sebo and Miele are very expensive compared to Kenmore. Granted Sebo and Miele will last longer, however as long as you take care of your Kenmore it should last quite awhile.

Yes, that’s more in your price range. Sebo and Miele are in their 800’s and up. Kenmore 600

No one, that I have seen, says Kenmores are junk, on here. In fact, especially when someone has a budget of $500 or less I go right to the Kenmore line. Those who mention lots of pet hair, I also recommend the Kenmore 600. They’re very good vacuums.

r/VacuumCleanersIs this used Riccar Pristine on marketplace a good deal and will it meet my needs?

Priced high. Just note, that canister is very heavy compared to its German counterparts. If you’re looking for something that’ll last awhile that’s new, get a Kenmore BU4050 or 600 series.

r/VacuumCleanersQuality vacuum I can pick up in person?

Kenmores may be available in some Kohls. They aren’t BIFL, however they ARE going to last for awhile (treat it nicely). Kenmore 400/600 series.

r/VacuumCleanersBest vacuum for 50/50 floors, 4000 sq feet
12 months ago

If you can manage the $800ish mark a Sebo E3 Premium or Miele C1 Cat Dog are some of the best options you have. They are BIFL models and should last you 10-20 years as long as you treat them nicely and use genuine filters and bags. Understandably, if you can’t hit that price point the Kenmore 400/600 series canisters are good and around $300ish. The build quality isn’t as good as their German counterparts but they still perform quite well and again, if treated nicely, should last awhile. If you have a local Miele/Sebo dealer and want to go that route, check them out and take them for a spin. A canister is definitely the best option for you based on a 50/50 split.

I made the switch from bagels to bagged after I found a lightly used Kenmore 600 on eBay for $150. So far it’s been great.

I just bought one and used it for the first time this evening and so far my initial impressions are that it feels kind of cheap, it’s awkward to use and doesn’t stand alone without falling over, but it has a helluva motor and great suction, nice long cord, and the hand controls are pretty nice. For the price (bought at $250 on Amazon) it’s a great machine. I will eventually save up and purchase a Sebo E3, but in this economy the 600 will do just fine.

Kenmore 600 series, bought one a few weeks ago at Home Depot for $299 and it’s a beast. Theres a youtube video out there where a guy tests the Kenmore 600 against the classic Miele C1 (i think?) and the Kenmore performs great.
