You're better off reading through the recommended list on the sub. Id also highly recommend looking around at local thrift stores, and even something like Facebook marketplace to see if you can get lucky and find a Miele or Sebo for a good price. Some Kenmore models can be found that are quite good for cheap too. I just found an older Kenmore Progressive for $20. The thing looks brand new, it has a sealed hepa system and I use the Hepa bags too. That said, if you want bagless, I personally have always liked my Shark Navigator Pet Pro I snagged from Walmart for cheap. The lift-off versions don't seem to be quite as good, with a family member hating it. I don't often recommend Shark outside of the one particular model due to its simple design and good performance.
I'd definitely recommend something about the lines of a Miele or Sebo for carpets. A canister is what you'll want for maneuverability, especially for getting under beds and such. I will also say a bagged Kenmore is a cheaper option that can be nearly just as good. Though I totally understand wanting a cordless as they are great for quick daily cleanings and such. Personally I've been loving my Samsung stick vacuum, the entire bin (cyclones and filters) are washable to keep them clean and clog free. Personally, get both. Get a good (Kenmore) vacuum for your deep cleaning, and a good cordless vacuum for in-between. I love my Samsung for quick cleaning, but my old Kenmore Progressive is an absolute tank for heavy cleaning.
Kenmore 200-series. Not as good, but similar for the price.
The Kenmore upright will likely be the best choice in that price range. Bagged is well worth the cost of the bags, keeps the entire vacuum clean inside, very few filters to mess with like a bagless. All of our old Shark units still work reasonably well, but the filters require a fair amount of time to keep clean and the bin fills up extremely fast compared to a bag. Good luck...
We got $175 on a Kenmore upright as a trade-in towards an E3 at an authorized dealer. If yours is in good shape, maybe you can try that route?
I wouldn't put anywhere near that much money into a stick, then you can get your Sebo that much sooner. Just an FYI, also, we had a Kenmore upright that was in great shape when we bought our Sebo, and we were able to get a $175 discount on a trade-in at an authorized dealer.
The simplicity or kenmore uprights are pretty good and seem to hold up. Section remains strong even as the bag fills up. Both have attachments that are pretty good
The cordless ones are for a quick pick up and they will never last if you use them like regular a vacuum. You can honestly find some corded vacuums for almost the same price as a cordless if you shop around . I got a kenmore online for less than 100 dollars and there are vacuum cleaner repair places that often sell cheap vacuums.
