"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."
"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."
"pads that lift on carpet so you can run it while the baby naps"

"I really prefer the bagged system over dumping and cleaning out a canister. ... That’s how it helps with allergens because the unit itself stays much cleaner everything is contained in the bag and you just toss it when it is full. ... It has a little cap to close the bag before dumping it too so nothing will come out and get in the air."
"if u are allergic or have allergic family members miele is the way to go. ... Filtration was the reason for me to pick up my miele c3 as well. ... But for someone who has allergies that difference is very important. ... I prefer finer filtration because we have multiple family members will alergies, to the point where it causes unbearable symptoms."
"The bag alone does a better job filtering than the whole of any Dyson or Shark. Then it goes through a pre-filter, and then a HEPA or carbon filter. ... The inside of my C3 is basically spotless. I could eat out of it, and I've had it for 8 years, with two dogs."

"I’ve tried my families Miele canister when I lived with them and never got the hang of it. ... How do you manage the canister? We have a small space and based on my experience it seems like I would trip over it. Even when I tried it in a bigger place I still carried the canister around which was super annoying just to not trip on it ... The space is small enough that it has dead ends without enough space to turn around by pulling the canister. Is there a way that same concept can still be applied? We’re talking bedsides with only 1.5’ space, 4’ hallway with a litter box at the end, 5’ kitchen width with dead end."
"I'll be damned if I'm going to drag that thing up and down three floors regularly."
"Scratched the hardwood floors ... there is a sort of hook on the back which hits the floor when you're going under tables/beds"
I currently have a Miele L1 Guard Dog & Cat, and love it! Great suction, and the length of the cord means I can go everywhere in my house without issue. I do have to clean the brush head once in a while of wrapped up fur, but it's miles ahead of when I had a Roomba.
I got mine through Costco and only the L1 was available, but so far, it's been great. There's no big bells and whistles like the C3 (doesn't have the adjustable brush head) but I have been using is daily to twice a day for several months and zero issues. Just have to go in once in a while to clear the brushes of dog fur.
I also have this one and it works great!
I just bought the Miele L1 cat and dog. Winter is ending her and we have cat hair all through the carpet and rugs and it coped fine getting all that off with ease.
Not sure where you are located but just got the Miele Guard L1 cat and dog at Costco for $499cdn. It’s perfect for my condo, suction is great and the vacuum just looks nice and modern.
We returned to a bagged Vaccuum (Miele L1 cats& dogs last week, after having bagless for over a decade. All the bagless vaccuums gave up on us, we had Dyson, Bosch ( unlimited series) Rowenta silence force, AEG and Philips. The Miele does clean much better than all those without a bag. I really recommend to switch ( back) to a bagged vaccuum.
The Miele in Canada have 5 year warranty, the best of all cordless, so I certainly recommend looking at them. The battery is 2 years warranty it can be replaced . No matter what you will have to do maintenance, cleaning filters , emptying it out There are some duoflex in Costco for $449 I suggest that if price is a concern the battery is not a cartridge but can be replaced still Also note that length of warranty mean more than replacing the battery, if the machine fails after a year (which is most cordless warranty) then who cares about the battery as you have a useless machine now Lastly as others have pointed out if you want maintenance free a bagged vacuum that’s plug in will last you longer and be easier to deal with Again Costco has the Miele guard l1 cat and dog an although it’s an air turbo brush it’s a great machine for the price and still has a 5 year warranty and 7 years on the motor
Unfortunately, it's misleading with the L1 Cat and Dog. It only comes with a turbohead. If you want to go with the Guard L1, compare it with the L1 Electro instead. That vacuum comes with the SEB228, the same head that comes with the C3 Cat and Dog.
It depends on what features you're looking for. The OG C3 are still good machines. But there are nice things that they implemented with the new L1 series. L1 is a bit lighter than C3, they come with a 4-wheel design now instead of 3-wheel design with the C3 which makes the machine more stable on the ground. Also the bag holder is way better on the L1 than the C3 for sure. With that being said, the C3 is less expensive than the L1 and the bundled attachment with the C3 is better in my opinion than the L1. I recommend going to a local dealer that have both of them in their showroom and compare it side by side.
A Miele is a good bet with a turbo head set on low suction or standard allteq floor nozzle. You could also try the Sebo E3 or K3 premium with the optional green soft brush roller in the ET-1 power head and lower suction setting. May clean the fibers a bit better than the Miele. If the rug is machine woven it may be more durable and hold up to the Sebo better.
There are real complaints with this model, the biggest one in my opinion being that there is nothing but disadvantage from an the LCD screen. It does nothing but make the user experience worse. The app doesn't even integrate with the machine, despite the whole setup encouraging the user to use the app with their vacuum
I've been waiting for a review on this, thank you!! Yeah this machine is too cheap to pay for repairs if something goes wrong. If you absolutely have to have a budget/mid-range canister, this will do, but I think it's worth spending more for a SEBO or Miele that will last longer and perform better
The assertion that they "got rid of the pre motor filter" is just...wrong though? The S1 and M1 use the same fabric type pre motor filter that has been used in the C series. The L1 has admittedly got rid of that in favour of a mesh, but it's wrong to say they've all lost the pre motor filter. Also it's only the L1 that has the display. If you don't like/want/need it, the M1 and S1 are available. The new bags fix the issue that was there with the C series of people not seating the bag properly when closing the bag compartment. And really why would anyone want to be using generic third party bags anyway when you've invested in a premium vacuum? I bought some once for my C2 compact and they were crap compared to the official Miele bags. Not saying that Miele are beyond criticism at all, but I think it's fair to actually be reasonable with ones criticism. This having been said when my C2 dies I'll be getting a Sebo because I would like a powered head.
The general consensus here is that stick vacs as a whole aren't good. I think I'm inclined to agree when it comes to the absolute budget end of the spectrum like this. They won't perform and they won't last long. However I do genuinely think that stick vacs serve a purpose so I'm not against them like a lot of others on this sub. I have one that I use for quick pick ups and a quick run around every few days just to keep things looking ok. It is hugely convenient and my most used vacuum. But I have a corded canister and upright vacuum for deeper cleans every week or so. If I need to do a "proper" clean, the stick vac isn't coming out. You just have to go into the purchase knowing that even if you spend a little more, they're not going to be the longest lasting thing and won't perform as well as a half decent mains powered vacuum with a powered head, and in some cases they won't even perform as well as a canister with a turbo brush. Do you need the convenience of a stick vac? And what flooring do you mainly have?
Whilst it's less convenient, I find a canister vacuum the lightest to work with, although you do need to manoeuvre the machine around on the floor. With a canister you're barely holding any weight in your hand, it's all down on the floor. For above floor cleaning it's the best experience, and then for carpets and floors it's also easy as you're only pushing around the wand and floor head. In terms of lightweight sticks I don't know too many really I'm afraid. Sebo balance and Dyson V12 are both light. I can't speak to the longevity and quality of either though. I owned a V12 for a bit and it was light to use but I returned it as couldn't justify the expense for my daily runaround vacuum. I own a Levoit LVAC 200 which is...fine...but does a poor job on carpets, it will really only skim the surface. I replaced that with a Tineco Pure One Station Five. It's a bit heavier but it does the job and I picked it up new in box on eBay for about £125. The self empty station really helps and it does an ok job just keeping things looking clean. However I'm not sure how long it'll last as some of the joints are already getting creaky and loose.
If you get one with a turbo brush it'll be ok, not fantastic but it'll be better than just a straight suction head. I use a Miele canister with a turbo brush and it doesn't dig as deep as my upright with a powered head but it's fine. If you have low pile carpets then it should be ok. For me the convenience of a canister is the versatility of using it for above floor cleaning of upholstery, dusting etc...then also hard floors and area rugs/carpets. There are very limited canister vacuums available in the UK with powered heads, basically I think it's only Sebo who do them now - the K3, E3 and D4. However even the K3 is probably above your budget.
I have a bagged Miele cylinder as my main vacuum and a cordless bagless stick as a daily run around/quick pick up machine. There's no way the bagless stick could ever serve as my main vacuum. The Miele serves as a regular vacuum, DIY clean up machine, duster etc...has served me well for 9 years now and just keeps going and going. I cannot imagine the cordless stick I have lasting anything like as long - it's already feeling rickety and creaky after less than a year and I take good care of it. If you can afford it - Bagged corded vacuum for your main vacuum, cordless stick for a secondary run around.
