"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."

"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."

"pads that lift on carpet so you can run it while the baby naps"

"Suction wise I think it's even better than S9+. ... I think it's great. ... because I feel this cleans better than S9+. ... 705 I find does a better job of vacuuming carpets than even the beast that was S9+."

"did a fantastic job of vacuuming pet hair ... happily being busy getting up the pet hair ... I love this thing despite its flaws."

"and a Corgi and it's been an absolute beast"

"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."

"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."

"I still have the Kirby my grandma bought brand new in 1970."

"I really prefer the bagged system over dumping and cleaning out a canister. ... That’s how it helps with allergens because the unit itself stays much cleaner everything is contained in the bag and you just toss it when it is full. ... It has a little cap to close the bag before dumping it too so nothing will come out and get in the air."

"if u are allergic or have allergic family members miele is the way to go. ... Filtration was the reason for me to pick up my miele c3 as well. ... But for someone who has allergies that difference is very important. ... I prefer finer filtration because we have multiple family members will alergies, to the point where it causes unbearable symptoms."

"The bag alone does a better job filtering than the whole of any Dyson or Shark. Then it goes through a pre-filter, and then a HEPA or carbon filter. ... The inside of my C3 is basically spotless. I could eat out of it, and I've had it for 8 years, with two dogs."

"Does fantastic with dog hair."

"it's designed so well, it's a joy to vacuum 2x daily (concrete floors/live at the beach with a long-haired GSD, I vacuum constantly)."

"it's a dream/works so well. ... I am shocked (kinda disgusted at times!) at how much it picks up."

"I’ve tried my families Miele canister when I lived with them and never got the hang of it. ... How do you manage the canister? We have a small space and based on my experience it seems like I would trip over it. Even when I tried it in a bigger place I still carried the canister around which was super annoying just to not trip on it ... The space is small enough that it has dead ends without enough space to turn around by pulling the canister. Is there a way that same concept can still be applied? We’re talking bedsides with only 1.5’ space, 4’ hallway with a litter box at the end, 5’ kitchen width with dead end."

"I'll be damned if I'm going to drag that thing up and down three floors regularly."

"Scratched the hardwood floors ... there is a sort of hook on the back which hits the floor when you're going under tables/beds"

"My Miele has an infuriatingly short power cord, and my house is quite small"

"The power cord situation gets annoying. ... We have an open floor plan and I can’t even clean between the kitchen and living room without switching plugs. ... It also doesn’t fully reach up our staircase."

"The cord is quite long though."

r/VacuumCleanersMiele Guard M1 Cat & Dog Canister Vacuum - what do ya’ll think?

No. The M1 Cat & Dog is a suction only machine, it does not come with a power nozzle. The attachment it includes is an air driven turbo and the package no longer includes the handheld mini turbo tool. We have bare floors and wool rugs on the main floor and use the C3 with the SEB 228 power nozzle. C3 models like the Kona, Cat & Dog, HomeCare, and Marin. The Miele Classic C1 is your entry-level option with a power nozzle and should be discounted still at your local dealer. We have two very active Corgis that bring in mud, leaves, fur, etc., especially now that we have rain and snow. I use the Bona flat mop with microfiber pad and hardwood floor cleaner. For quick cleanups, I grab the Bona mop handle and use the Bona pre-soaked pads for hard wood. I use the basic Bona pet system that includes the tool, dusting mop and micro fiber pad. They also make waterbased cleaning solutions for cleaners that are safer for pets.

Miele an Sebo are the premium canisters due to quality, warranty, and filtration. Of the two, Miele hoses are more flexible. I have both the Sebo E3 and D4, and both hoses are stiff and bulky due to their tapered design. I also have the Miele C3 and prefer it for dusting because Miele makes a larger, fully articulating brush (SUB 20) that works on the ceiling fans and bookshelves. For hard floor cleaning, the parquet twister is my go to, both Sebo and Meile have a version of this attachment. Based on your cleaning needs, a suction only machine will work well. Look at the Miele Classic C1 or Guard M1. Sebo comes in a close second place for portability. Look at the E1 or K2 Kombi and add the parquet twister. If you have a vacuum dealer, go there, the Black Friday discounts will be better and they will give you a package discount for any additional attachments, bags, etc.

Definitely seek out and visit a Sebo/Miele dealer so they can demo all your options. You will likely get a discount and/or additional goodies thrown in (bags, filters, attachments). Whether it's Sebo or Miele, the lower cost units are suction only and won't clean your bedroom carpets effectively. Make sure your choice has a power nozzle (Sebo E3, K3, D4 or Miele C3 cat and dog). Miele just rolled out their replacement for the C3, called the Guard series. Unfortunately, there are only 2 models with the power nozzle, so if you are offered the newest model make sure it isn't suction only. Oddly, the new Miele Guard Cat and Dog does not include a power nozzle option! There are clearance deals on the previous generation Miele's, I'd go that way over the new/full markup models as these machines are excellent (Marin and the white Cat and Dog C3s are my favorites).

Congratulations and look forward to your follow up review after a whole house cleaning. Miele did a poor job assessing the US market for the Guard series. We get the same handle and hose as the previous models; not the new handle with controls released in Europe. They discontinued the SEB 236 power nozzle (LED light, lower profile), and only two models with a power nozzle. None of the Cat and Dog models have a power nozzle! The new Fiber TeQ All Floor attachment looks promising though and will probably be added to my C3's arsenal of tools.

Miele rolled out their new Guard series canister vacs and all of the existing C3s are on clearance now. Find your local dealer and go visit the store. You need a powered model (entry level units are cheaper because they don't have the powerhead or electrical hose). Also look at the Sebo Felix. Awesome upright machine that handles carpet and hardwood floors, with excellent filtration.

r/VacuumCleanersDifference between Miele C1 Pet and Miele M1 Pet?

M1 has a new bag system. It wouldn't surprise me if they're phasing out the Classic, as there are tons of dupes of those bags but not of the M1 bags (yet?). I like my M1 well enough, but it's my first bagged vac so I'm biased on that regard. But keep that in mind if you had any intention of going off-brand for bags.

I recently bought the M1 Cat & Dog. Can say it has a good suction. The building quality is good. It's 90% same as the legendary C3, but they changed the design a bit. It also feels comfy in the hand. The L1 has more "futuristic functions", but I think a standard vacuum like M1 will have a longer lifetime.

First, I will tell you they are NOT cheap for most of them. A shark is going to cost you $100-120, a Miele may cost $300-1,000. You DO NOT need any of the high end ones unless you’ve got a **massive** house. Second I will add, that Miele vacuum is going to last you 10+ years if you do upkeep if you buy the canister one which is the easiest to maintain. I’d say upkeep on them is maybe 10% of the effort of a bagless one. With bags it quite seriously contains everything within, you mainly rinse out the vacuum hose and wipe down the inside - then the main routine part is cleaning the bristles and what not. To remove fur tangled in bristles, take a box cutter knife and run it down the middle slowly cutting off fur that is wrapped around it (only any vacuum). Also note that these vacuums are going to be bigger than an upright one if you go with the canister. As far as specific ones, Kenmore is going to be cheapest and most efficient for the canister vacuum, around $200-300. Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly CrossOver 21814, Kenmore 200 Series BC4002. For Miele, Guard M1 Cat & Dog which is around $500. With all being said, the bagless miele’s are still great and around $350. The one you’d want to explore more is Boost CX1 SNRD0 - it’s $300-400. If you prefer an upright, which is still way better than a stick vacuum, a Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly 31150 is about $200 and will be great. Also, your current one may have gunk in the tub or chamber which is why the fluff is clogging. You may want to try cleaning your vacuum first unless the motor was running too hard / it’s old.

r/VacuumCleanersWhich Miele vacuum should I get? (Apartment, no pets, 1 carpet, want something future-proof)

I'd go for the M1 Cat & Dog. It's a proven platform, quiet, not too big, and comes with the turbo head which will futureproof it against moving to a place that might have more carpet.

M1 is more compact, and has been around since 2011. L1 is a new platform that may have issues that haven't been worked out yet. It also lacks a premotor filter, which the M1 has.

r/VacuumCleanersI hate the new miele S1, M1 and L1 series
7 months ago

But… that is all they’ve done? They fixed the bag problem (prob could’ve got away with keeping the old bags backwards compatible but they’re still better). The S1 and M1 *are* polished up C2 and C3 models, with a new grille and two less suction settings on the dial. I wouldn’t touch the L1 personally but that’s because I don’t like the design, that’s all. What more could they have done?

If its all hard floors with a few rugs, you dont need to get the most expensive model, pure suction models would work. Maybe check out the guard L1 all floor, m1 cat and dog or an m1/c1. Only if the rugs have medium piles or higher id recommend models with seb 228 for convenience

Miele and sebo are both great and pretty similar, with differences in the power nozzles. Miele is not as user serviceable whereas the sebos et-1 brush is removable. The electric hoses can be a point of failure and the sebo if i remember right has replaceable components on the outside where as Mieles i believe have to replace the whole hose. As for bagged vs bagless, bagless machines are a little more work for the user as you need to maintain the filters and occasionally clean out the canister but are sometimes more convenient. Bagged machines are better if you have bad dust allergies and are generally lighter, because dust is bagged, filtration tends to be better and the canister is kept clean. You still have filters to change, but miele includes the basic ones with their bags which in my opinion are good for the average user. I personally got a miele at a really good price and have really enjoyed it so far. Since you have a lot of hardwood and low pile rugs, you could go for most miele models, theres the guard series, L1, etc. A model with the parquet XL head (16 in) will give a pretty big cleaning path for hard floors!

I agree with u/J3ttf and I'd go with the Miele Guard M1 Cat & Dog. It's a proven platform and it has 3 cleaning tools instead of the L1's 2 combo tools. The M1 Cat & Dog comes with the turbo brush for a just a little more than the standard M1 is a real bargain. Just to be clear you can buy and add any floor brushes and turbo brushes later if your flooring changes or your preferences change.

r/VacuumCleanersDo you recommend the bagless Miele vacuum cleaners if I have dust mite allergy?

EDIT: I bought the Guard M1 model with HEPA filter. Thank you everyone for the help!**❤️** ORIGINAL: I suffer from a dust-mite allergy and currently own a bagless vacuum cleaner without a HEPA filter😱 Recently, I realized that I really need a vacuum cleaner with a high-quality HEPA filter. While many recommend Miele, I would prefer a bagless model to save money on replacement bags in the future. I also handle a lot of dust (such as sanding tiny objects) and I have cats, so I vacuum at least every other day. However, I’ve read in some reviews that these bagless models may not filter well (see attached photo), and that dust particles get stuck inside. Do you recommend a bagless Miele vacuum cleaner? I mean, it is still better than a vacuum cleaner without a HEPA filter, not? 🤔 Or do you have any other recommended vacuum models that would suit my needs? I have 1 smaller rug, but mostly have a wood floor. And my budget is $200-$570. I prefer "normal" vacuum cleaners (not vertical) with a cord.
