But the Riccar r65 has variable suction
Riccar makes a stick that is absolutely insane. I think it’s a bit more expensive than this but I’ve seen it handle stuff that normal canisters couldn’t
The miele / Riccar stick vacs are definitely a step up but still not what i’d consider BIFL. Just the nature of taking batteries kind of limits their lifespan. You can get replacements, but they cost money and aren’t covered under warranty after a period (which is when they die, lol)
Also, cordless is convenient in the short term but they are pretty much made to be disposable. The batteries deteriorate and they tend to be made out of cheaper plastic and break quicker. If you just absolutely needed a stick / cordless the only two I could recommend are the Riccar stick (forgot exact model) or the Miele Triflex.
For the most part yes. In my opinion the only two decent cordless vacs are the Miele Triflex and the Riccar one (can’t remember name). Even then, I would recommend a corded canister or even corded upright before I’d recommend a stick vac. In my experience most stick vacs are not made to last longer than a year or maybe two. Just by nature of having a battery they are disposable, and they tend to be cheaply made. You also don’t get the benefits of a bag
I would recommend the R65 Riccar cordless stick vacuum. It allows you to change the suction speed. I believe they are priced around $300 and can get parts for them easily if you ever need them. I will say they aren't meant to be a whole house vacuum with pets, but will do great on area rugs and stairs with pet hair.
I had two Tineco’s and really liked them. Unfortunately, they both broke. I recently got a Riccar stick vacuum. I’m very impressed with the build and suction. It’s a bit heavier. The battery just pops out to recharge or you can recharge on its stand. It’s pricier than Tineco, $400, but I think it will last a lot longer.
I've had the riccar for about a year and it's been awesome. had to clean the filter once because i used to vacuum drywall dust before i bought a shopvac.. it works really well and is super convenient to use and looks good in the corner. i paid extra for the battery stand and honestly haven't needed it but I'm only working with one floor at the moment, battery is good for at least twenty minutes on high that's a lot of vacuuming i usually only run it for a few minutes and can get the floor in every room. easy to take apart I like that it doesn't feel annoying to vacuum because you don't have to plug anything in and it works well, easy to swap attachments from the stand.
I have a [Riccar R65 stick vacuum](https://www.riccar.com/r65-cordless-stick-vacuum?channable=060d66696400343739363075) and love it. Super intuitive, easy to clean.
The Riccar R65 meets your requirements, and you can usually get a discount on it from a local store
Riccar R10p. Riccar R65 shop a local dealer. Best machines, warranties. Just the best.
No cordless, no bag less. Riccar makes the best. All with warranty over a year. Great quality. Last forever plus decades.
Riccar? That’s in my top 3.
Real vacuum dealerships will not sell Dyson any longer. Many other traditional brands either because those companies have decided to produce in Asia and change designs super fast. It is the OPPOSITE of sustainability, it is planned obsolescence at an incredible level. Vacs should not be bought online and a big box stores, these machines do not clean carpet/air, are designed to fail, can’t be serviced and are literal fire hazards. Man the stories I can tell you about “brand new” machines. Most were manufactured years before they reached the consumer. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Dealerships sell quality machines, built to last, serviceable, at great competitive prices, with warranties that do not cost extra. You can’t find service like that anywhere! Find a dealer and buy Riccar or Sebo.
Never consider Shark. Bagged is best. Riccar is top of the line if you’re willing to spend. See a local dealer.
I speak from experience. I experience many vacs daily. Bagless all leak. The brush rolls are weak at best. Shark puts out models with no or very little support. The bagless vacs are designed to be replaced in 5 years. Bagged especially Riccar and Sebo are designed to last 20 years and create a MUCH cleaner space than any bagless. Shark and all bagless can afford advertising and reviews because it costs nothing to make the trash they sell. See a local dealer, learn what it takes to be a real vacuum.
I have two criteria for stick vac: readily available filters and removable batteries. The Riccar R65 is very nice. It comes with a stand and a few tools and sells at $399. The Simplicity S67 is a budget friendly option at $249 as well. Both are supported by the manufacturer.
To be perfectly honest, bagless vacuums are awful at dealing with pet hair. If a bagged vacuum is just going to sit in your closet unused look at something like the Riccar R65 because it has better manufacturer support than Dyson.
I wouldn't purchase any stick vac to be my primary vacuum. If your Kirby is breaking belts you may want to have it serviced. And if by cleaning the hair you mean cutting the hair off that's normal and needs to be done with any vacuum. You can get a canister with a turbo brush within your budget but if you move into a place with wall to wall carpeting you'll need to upgrade again. If a stick vac is a must look at the Riccar R65.
Riccar (R65) Simplicity (S67) Stick vacs are poor vacuums. A pro once said to me "you shoud think of them as weak electric brooms, not vacuums ". A D4 later and I get it now. I'd buy a bagged cordless before getting a stick vac. However, If I ever do buy a stick vac again it will probably be one of those two.
