That’s how it helps with allergens because the unit itself stays much cleaner everything is contained in the bag and you just toss it when it is full. ... r/VacuumCleanersHere's why you should buy a Sebo
6 months ago

Well,I did it. I walked into a vacuum cleaner store and repair shop just to see this Sebo upright people refer to. I had already ordered a Kenmore BU4050 based on reviews although I have never seen one. I've been through every vacuum type imaginable in the last - ahem - 40 years. Starting with Electrolux canister on glider rails, a family hand-me-down. Dirt Devil tiny little canister. Hoover upright, Sanitaire commercial upright, Miele stick vac with removable handheld dustbuster thing, Miele canister. Had a Dyson V5 for when the canister was too heavy to pull out. Shark Navigator Pet upright - nimble, easy to use, went under bed - I liked it for a long time but slider for floor type change got stuck and it all those plastic parts got a little rickety. I learned: While cordless is quick and easy, it's also weak suction. Sanitair upright cleaned well on carpet but no accessories. Dysons are pretty colored plastic but all marketing, hurts my wrist, went through 2 batteries, just top heavy, and poor suction. Miele corded stick vacuum had very strong suction but was too heavy and center of mass is midway up so awkward unless you are very strong and was not self standing. Miele canister is great but all those accessories take up a lot of space and I'm over moving canisters around and banging the wall. Bagless was good as a novelty but so messy - the vacuum itself attracted dust and emptying always led to some dust on me. So I wanted a bagged, corded, self-standing, upright that had a low center of gravity, was nimble, no too heavy, and could go under the bed. Even though the sales guy was enthusiastic and informative but not pushy, the Sebo Felix sold itself. I bought the Sebo Felix even though I wasn't going there to buy, just see it. It does every thing I want and is much quieter. 10 year warranty, locally serviced by "Onyx" dealer \[that's what they call official dealers\], give loaner vacs if it takes more than 3 days. The store has been there 26 years, first the father and now the son owns it. They repair every brand of vacuum but only sell Sebo, Miele, and some in-the-wall systems. When I think of all the money I've spend on vacuums .... The good ones were Electrolux, Miele, Sanitaire, and for a while the Shark impressed me. Now I hope the Sebo will be my last vacuum. $700 US, price goes up $200 on September 25 due to tariffs. Dealer said he's sold 17 of them this month from special orders I will return the Kenmore BU4050 unopened when it arrives.

Sebo Felix would do well in this space. It’s an upright that takes little space to store, onboard attachments, and includes the excellent premium parquet nozzle. When you move into your future home, it will excel there too.

r/VacuumCleanersBuying my first Miele! Which one?? Need help!!

Miele rolled out their new Guard series canister vacs and all of the existing C3s are on clearance now. Find your local dealer and go visit the store. You need a powered model (entry level units are cheaper because they don't have the powerhead or electrical hose). Also look at the Sebo Felix. Awesome upright machine that handles carpet and hardwood floors, with excellent filtration.

r/VacuumCleanersAnother Sebo Comparison :-)

Miele rolled out their new Guard series vacuums and there are 20% discounts on C3s that are hard to pass up. Find a local dealer and see what inventory they have left. I'd go for a C3 dog and cat model (white body). It will come with the hand held turbo tool (stairs, upholstery, dog beds), carbon filtration, and the excellent SEB 228 power nozzle. Next up from that model is the C3 Marin (blue body) with an auto setting, change filter light, and auto shut off feature when you park the wand. Add the parquet twister (the XL is convenient for large areas that are hardwood), it squeezes under furniture and the castle ridge design of the brush works perfectly with dog hair. Sebo has one too, but Sebo's premium parquet is even better. The C3 Kona is also a solid value C3, its the entry level black body that includes the SEB 228 power nozzle, very few of these are available because the price point with discount were a high value option. The Sebo E3 is a direct competitor to the Miele, and also excellent. You'll get a 10 year warranty from the dealer on this model and if a discount isn't offered, negotiate for a free accessory package and/or bags/filters. I'd seriously consider a package deal; an E3 and Felix. My go-to vacuum on our main floor is the Felix where it's all hardwoods and a couple of area rugs. The Felix is almost as convenient as a stick vacuum and maneuvers easily. It comes with the excellent premium parquet. One set of additional attachments will fit both the E3 and Felix (hand held turbo brush, long flexible wand and 9' extension hose for stairs). You'll get a discount and additional accessories thrown in if you buy two.

r/VacuumCleanersBest vacuum for heavy shedding dogs. 50/50 hardwood and carpet. No budget.

I have Corgis and they shed fur as a hobby. Sebo or Miele with a power nozzle, not the entry level suction only machines. The ideal pair is a Sebo E3 canister and Felix upright. The Felix is my daily, the E3 is my weekly deep cleaner. There are clearance deals on the Miele C3s right now; look for the Cat & Dog, Marin and even the HomeCare+ canisters. The Miele power nozzles handle deep pile better than Sebo, otherwise the vacuums are tied for performance.

r/VacuumCleanersVacuum recommendations?

I'm recommending 3 higher end, bagged, corded vacuums with power nozzles to address your area rugs. The first is the upright Sebo Felix. The power head is interchangeable with the premium parquet for bare floors. The onboard hose will address most of your above the floor cleaning and it includes a crevice tool and dusting brush. If you can find a Meile C3 Kona, Marin, or Cat & Dog that is discounted grab any of these canister models. Last either a Sebo E3 or K3 depending what might still be on sale.

r/VacuumCleanersWhat features make an upright vacuum the best choice, and which models do you recommend?

I have a Miele U1 and a Sebo Felix. Both models feature a head unit that twists, making it easier to move around furniture. They also lay flat so that you can vacuum under beds and furniture. On board is a deployable hose and attachments for dusting and upholstery. While vacuuming, if I notice dust on baseboards, or an occasional cob web up high, it's not an issue to deploy the hose mid-vacuum and then return back to vacuuming. Both models have variable suction control, depending on the task (Blinds, dusting, full suction for carpet deep cleaning). The Miele brush roll can be turned off for bare floors and the Sebo's head unit can be exchanged for the premium parquet for bare floors.

The Sebo Felix is not heavy, very maneuverable and includes the following attachments: premium parquet floor brush, crevice tool and dusting brush. It is highly rated and an excellent all rounder. The Sebo X7 is an excellent upright for carpets as well.

r/VacuumCleanersBest upright vacuum, recommendations
3 months ago

The x7 is a carpet only model, not ideal for stairs. The Dart is like the Felix but with several features missing: the airflow is not adjustable, the power head does not twist, and the handle height is not adjustable. The Felix and Dart can do stairs. I added the optional 9’ hose to make it easier to set my Felix down instead of carrying up each stair.

r/VacuumCleanersSebo Felix or one of the sebo canister models?

I own a Felix, E3 and a D4 (I love vacuums!). The canisters will clean under furniture easier than the Felix and are better for above the floor cleaning (blinds, walls, furniture, stairs). I use the Felix between deep cleaning because it is easy to put into action. If funds permit, get a Felix and one of the canisters. Train the daughters to use the Felix for day-to-day floor care and save the canister for weekly cleaning.

r/VacuumCleanersSebo Family

Sharing my family of Sebo vacuums. The Sebo D4 on the left was an EBay purchase that I refurbished. It looks and runs like new, love the extra large bag on this one! The Felix in the middle is my favorite and is a daily driver due to its ability to move easily from hard surfaces to carpet. The E3 on the right is a lightweight do-it-all machine. All of them are quiet, reliable and tackle cleaning chores easily.

r/VacuumCleanersSebo Family

- The D4 is designed for larger homes with a 40’ cord, 1.5 gallon bag and the strongest suction of the 3. This is the vacuum I pick when it’s deep cleaning, whole house day. It is best for above the floor tasks like walls, ceiling fans, upholstery, and blinds. - The E3 is the most versatile, especially medium sized homes. It’s lightweight and its suction is almost as good as the D4. The cord is shorter and its bag is nearly one full gallon. - The Felix is the easiest to grab and tackle daily tasks. About the same power as the E3, it moves easily around and under furniture. I use this one for routine cleanup, the hose is shorter so above the floor cleaning tasks require additional accessories like an extender hose or wand. I use it like a stick vacuum. If you have an apartment or condo this would be my choice. All of these have excellent air filtration, are quiet and tackle pet hair easily.

I think the Felix would be the choice. The upright design, top loading bag, and light weight all seem to be in your favor. All Sebo nozzles are foot controlled (power), but still require some bending to dial the nozzle height adjustment.

I think the Felix ranks very high for my uprights. I use this one frequently because it has a nice blend of performance and is user friendly. Best suction still goes to my Kirby’s.

r/VacuumCleanersLooking for secondary vacuum for spot cleaning. Any recommendations for cordless stick vacuums?

It's not a cordless stick model, but Sebo Felix is my go-to vacuum for spot cleaning and daily maintenance.

r/VacuumCleanersVacuum Advice for 2 Men 2 Cats
4 months ago

Canister vacs come in a variety of prices based on accessories and if the vacuum has a power nozzle or straight suction. Straight suction vacuums are cheaper because there are no electrical connections in the hose or wand. Based on your budget and bare surfaces, a pure suction canister with an air driven floor attachment should work (the medium pile rugs might bog it down). Sebo K2 Turbo or a Miele C1 Turbo Team are two solid choices. A Sebo Felix is a worthy upgrade (the Dart's big brother). It's a more capable model, but more expensive. The Black Friday discounts are known at your local dealer, pop in and see what models they have on sale.

My Sebo Felix is the go-to machine for quick tasks. It’s always ready and easy to deploy.

r/VacuumCleanersExplain to me why you like a canister vac? And give me advice on what to get...

For the die hard upright users, the Sebo Felix is the hybrid solution. The premium parquet converts quickly for excellent bare floor results and the ET-1 power head is superb. But, I love my canisters more for all the reasons stated already to the OP's original post. The above the floor cleaning advantage goes to the canister for walls, baseboards, dusting, furniture, cars, ceiling fans, and more. Pick your vacuum based on the floors you need to clean; pure suction for bare floors, full featured model with a power nozzle for carpets.

With Sebo I’ll just say, if one wants an upright, spend the extra and get the Felix over the Dart. I got a dart and have spent more than the difference on the parts that come with the Felix. For the time the vacuum will last, the difference is worth it

A Miele or Sebo bagged vacuum is your best bet. They do so much better a job than any bagless cordless and will last for decades.  Personally I love my Sebo Felix. You’re not going to get cat pee out with a vacuum though. You need some specific carpet cleaning products.

I like to add, SEBO is another great option. One can be more available than the other depending on location. Big thing is bagged vacuums are just better. Everyone switching to bagless was just a straight downgrade

It’s one of those but once cry once things. A Miele or SEBO will last much longer and do a better job than a cheaper option.  It pays for itself in not having to replace it in a couple years.

You’ll be shot dead here for saying you miss your Dyson 😂 Yeah loads of valid points, parquet head might be great but who on earth bothers with swapping it on Felix?

r/VacuumCleanersI got a Sebo Felix for FREE!

When using Dyson try to empty when you get to MAX, I know it can sometimes clump on the top, try to vacuum a bit slower then. Regarding marking floors, it's probably rubber wheel on the head that makes marks, had the same problem with ours at first. Disappears when you wash the floor. Yeah, absolutely don't mention Dyson on this forum, and God forbid say it's good. They think here that Dysons been on the market for over 30 years making crappy products that don't last due to good marketing. And Sebo, brand hardly anyone ever heard of, makes the best vacuums in the world. I've had Felix in the past. It is a great vacuum, it will probably clean carpets much better than Dyson yes, but it comes at a cost, at least it did in my case. It is a bit top heavy, head kinda always pulls you forward so you need force to push vacuum about. It does swivel but despite what this forum says, it's not as good as Dyson Ball swivel. No wand was a huge negative for me. You have to bend down to get to corners etc. It was pretty average on hard floors and changing for parquet head was too much messing about. Bag can start smelling after some time. Funny cause guys here say Dysons stink. We've had our V15 for about 4 years, doesn't smell at all. Obviously if you vacuum something damp it definitely will but with Felix, it'll smell no matter what. And no, changing the bag won't make the smell go away. Another annoying thing, you can lift the main body to use the vacuum for stairs, car etc. it blows really hot air though so it's like carrying a portable heater, might be great in winter actually. I also always thought brush roll on/off on head was annoying. You really really hard to press it hard. Wonder why it wasn't implemented on the handle. Going back to Dyson, empty when you get to MAX, clean filter with water only roughly once a month, make sure it's completely dry and don't use it on Boost all the time. I'm based in UK and work in appliance shop, plenty of various customers. But definitely don't have customers coming back after a year saying their Dysons broke. Unless they've trashed the vacuum, and some actually bring vacuums that have never had filters cleaned or been used to vacuum something damp. Actually plenty coming back for a new model to replace 5 or 6 years old stick. So they can definitely last if you look after them. And not like they have to replace it cause it's all broken, usually battery or head doesn't work anymore. Yeah yeah I know, not 20 years that Sebo will give but I'd still prefer to get a new vac after 5 years that's really nice and easy to use.

I wouldn’t say that one is superior over the other; they’re just different. The X7 has a stronger suction motor and a higher bag capacity, but it’s built more to be a commercial upright for carpet-only jobs. And the reason I say carpet-only is because the roller brush can’t be turned off all the way (it has low and high speed modes), whereas you can do that with the Felix and even the Dart. The Felix gets you additional features over the Dart, such as 180 degree steering, variable suction control (awesome for drapes and blinds), and the premium parquet head (nice to have for hard floors). Really, at the end of the day, the X7 is a better choice for mostly carpeted homes and has larger capacity, but it’s also larger and heavier. But the Dart and Felix are more versatile at the expense of capacity and a bit of suction power (X7 is 1300W and Dart/Felix is 1000W). One unique feature the Dart/Felix has is modularity, where you can remove the powerhead and use it as a handheld hose vac.

From someone who's worked in housekeeping for 17 years here's my take. Lots of carpet (and especially lots of carpet and animals), buy a Sebo, a Felix is an excellent option as is one of their cylinders with the ET-1 power head, mainly hard floors and some short pile carpet, buy a Henry (with the dedicated hard floor tool if necessary). You don't have to buy new as both manufacturers are solid second hand buys and have excellent parts availability if something does fail, my work Sebo X1 from \~1995 (released in 1991) uses the same bags, filters and brushroll as the newest X7. Long life and easy reparability more than make up any extra a better quality European made vacuum costs. Do not buy a Shark, they are designed to fail and are an absolute pain to repair if they do go wrong. Also I would avoid a bagless machine, yes they seem like the cheaper option as you don't need to buy bags but the hassle of emptying and filter cleaning makes the cost of the bags worthwhile.
