"it's so NICE to throw the bag of stinky (I have a golden retriever XD) dog hair into the trash and not have it funking up the whole vacuum, forever."

"The HEPA filter is easy to clean thanks to the little flicker dial thing I just pull it out hold it over the trash and go to town on that until the chunks stop coming out and when it gets too bad for that it's a washable filter."

"The C3 has a complete sealed system which is better than C1 if you have issues with allergies."

"I use the bagged canister design for the whole house and for every mess. Even pet hair."

"Sebo vacs with the ET-1 nozzle (adjustable suction, manual carpet height adjustment) ... Adjustable carpet height paired with adjustable suction are must have features for those types of carpet, but I like them for any type of carpet. ... to get a vacuum movable on that type of carpet, the suction has to be turned down, carpet height adjusted, and/or the suction has to be redirected through an airflow vent valve on the nozzle, to relieve some of the pressure."

"Does great on tile, wood, and carpet."

"All 3 are excellent options though as long as you don’t plan on having wall to wall carpets or more rugs/thicker pile rugs over the next 20 years or so."

"I’ve tried my families Miele canister when I lived with them and never got the hang of it. ... How do you manage the canister? We have a small space and based on my experience it seems like I would trip over it. Even when I tried it in a bigger place I still carried the canister around which was super annoying just to not trip on it ... The space is small enough that it has dead ends without enough space to turn around by pulling the canister. Is there a way that same concept can still be applied? We’re talking bedsides with only 1.5’ space, 4’ hallway with a litter box at the end, 5’ kitchen width with dead end."

"it’s a little unwieldy to drag it up and down stairs ... a pain in the ass to drag up and downstairs every night"

"I'll be damned if I'm going to drag that thing up and down three floors regularly."

"horrifically expensive"

"price of replacement parts is a huge reason i recommend sebo vacuums. ... every time i have to look up a part for a miele vacuum i already know it ’s going to cost 3x-4x what it should."

"These are going to start around $600-700 unless you find one used ... That's a steep price however, and not realistic for many families."

I had an excellent experience at my local vacuum store. After explaining what I was looking for, the owner showed me a few different canister models, followed by some upright vacuums. He explained all the features and advantages of each. Over an hour later, I walked out with the Sebo Airbelt K2, the very first vacuum he showed me. Perfect size for my mostly tile and laminate flooring home.

The SEBO K2 would be a good option too, as it does come with the turbo head

Just keep in mind you’ll probably have to replace that turbo every couple years as they don’t hold up well like their old model used to be, but there are generic ones available

Depends if you want a powered brush for carpet/rugs, c1 very short cord, so c3 or new guard series in miele or k or e series on sebo, e3 has powered head, e2 includes a torbo air powered head for rugs , and e1 just straight suction

Thank you so much! I decided to go with Sebo, seems like it's the quietest of them and with taxes and extra dust bags it will just be at the top of my budget. And probably comparable quality to Miele.

Sebo K2 or Miele M1 All Foor are two excellent options for your floors. Both are durable, lightweight, bagged and quiet. Miele's newest floor attachment, the FiberTeQ all floor is impressive. Find a local dealer and test drive these and other models. Henry is not readily available in the US, but as another poster noted, it's a contender in your market.

Both are excellent choices, go to the store and test drive them. The Sebo K2 is the only SEBO Canister that has an optional Hepa filter, so it is a direct competitor to the C1. Both vacuums are durable and designed for years of reliable service. The Sebo warranty is longer, expendables such as bags (yes they have a cap to seal in dust when you change them) and filters are cheaper, and Sebo premium parquet floor attachment is an excellent tool for bare floors. Both brands have the same parquet twister which is also an excellent bare floor attachment.

Canister vacs come in a variety of prices based on accessories and if the vacuum has a power nozzle or straight suction. Straight suction vacuums are cheaper because there are no electrical connections in the hose or wand. Based on your budget and bare surfaces, a pure suction canister with an air driven floor attachment should work (the medium pile rugs might bog it down). Sebo K2 Turbo or a Miele C1 Turbo Team are two solid choices. A Sebo Felix is a worthy upgrade (the Dart's big brother). It's a more capable model, but more expensive. The Black Friday discounts are known at your local dealer, pop in and see what models they have on sale.

Adding on: The K2 is the only SEBO Canister that has the option to upgrade with a Hepa filter. It's an excellent canister vacuum; small but mighty.

Miele an Sebo are the premium canisters due to quality, warranty, and filtration. Of the two, Miele hoses are more flexible. I have both the Sebo E3 and D4, and both hoses are stiff and bulky due to their tapered design. I also have the Miele C3 and prefer it for dusting because Miele makes a larger, fully articulating brush (SUB 20) that works on the ceiling fans and bookshelves. For hard floor cleaning, the parquet twister is my go to, both Sebo and Meile have a version of this attachment. Based on your cleaning needs, a suction only machine will work well. Look at the Miele Classic C1 or Guard M1. Sebo comes in a close second place for portability. Look at the E1 or K2 Kombi and add the parquet twister. If you have a vacuum dealer, go there, the Black Friday discounts will be better and they will give you a package discount for any additional attachments, bags, etc.

Preach. Miele’s turning into Dyson-lite and it’s sad. Check out SEBO K2/K3 or even Numatic Henry Allergy. They're built like tanks, bags are cheap, filters are solid, no Wi-Fi nonsense.

r/VacuumCleanersCan you help me find a vacuum cleaner that’s moderately affordable?

Do not listen to anyone recommending Shark or Dyson. Look into a Sebo K2. Suction only, but unless your carpet is high pile the turbo brush head will work on your carpet. It won’t break on you, dog hair and pine needles will not clog it, and in my opinion canisters are easier to use on stairs than an upright. Sebo won’t die on you, and if it does they’re extremely repairable at any shop. You will more than likely not need another vacuum for 10+ years. If you absolutely need something with an electric powerhead, the Kenmore Institution has one. It won’t last as long as a Sebo and they have some common failure points, but they’re not as bad as a shark or dyson.

r/VacuumCleanersCordless, decent suction $400 budget

You’re better off getting a Sebo K2. Spending 400 on a disposable stick vac is just a waste of money

r/VacuumCleanersAdvice on new vacuum

I’d go with a Sebo Airbelt K2. With these vacuums, you are buying a machine that you are keeping and using for the next 10+ years. Just for reference, I heard somewhere that most consumer grade vacuums (Bissel, Dyson, Shark) are made to operate for 250 hours of use. Sebo vacs are typically made to operate for 2000 hours of use. The Sebo is bagged, so it has better filtration than any stick or bagless vacuum, it will not blow dust back into the air like the cheaper ones do. It being a canister also opens you up to above floor cleaning. I’d recommend getting the Turbo head as well. It’s a suction powered brush head that you can use on your rugs. Everything said applies to Miele too, though.

r/VacuumCleanersWhy does it feel like finding a vacuum is an impossible task
4 months ago

A lot of people on here work in vacuum shops, either managing them or as technicians repairing vacuums. We are all telling you that Shark / Dyson are garbage and you have to spend a fair amount to get a decent vacuum that will last you 4+ years. If you have all hardwood floors or some very low pile carpet, get a SEBO K2/E2, or a Miele suction only model. If you have carpet that is fairly high pile, you are kind of forced to spend a decent amount for a E3 or K3 type vacuum. If you don’t want to spend that much, Kenmore makes some halfway decent vacuums like the Intuition or Pop N Go that are fairly affordable with an electric head. I don’t know why most of your replies to people are you arguing with people whose literal job it is to work with vacuums about what is good and what’s not.

r/VacuumCleanersFirst bagged vacuum, found a Miele at Goodwill!

What’s your budget and flooring? If you have any medium to high pile carpet you’ll have to spend a little more, but if you have hard wood/low pile carpet you can get away with a suction only Miele or Sebo K2/E2 that will last you 10+ years

r/VacuumCleanersLooking for a Carpet Vacuum Cleaner Under $300 (Long Hair Friendly)

You’ll save money. If you buy a Dyson or Shark you’ll have to spend another 200 or 300 bucks in a few years. If you buy a Sebo, you will be set for 10 to 20 years.

r/VacuumCleanersNever ever buy a Dyson vac.

If you’re spending 800 on a Dyson just spend that on a Sebo or Miele and you’re good for 10+ years lol

Check out a Miele C1 turbo team, Sebo k2 turbo or Henry xtra. Use the turbo head on your rug. The Miele and Sebo have cord rewind, but the Henry doesn’t. All 3 are excellent options though as long as you don’t plan on having wall to wall carpets or more rugs/thicker pile rugs over the next 20 years or so.

What pile are the area rugs and how big? A turbo team is never a bad idea with rugs. But the pure suction is on a great sale right now. You can always add the turbo head later if you want better cleaning performance on rugs. A Sebo k2 kombi or k2 turbo is also worth looking at. Same with a Henry 160 or xtra

You’re on the right track. Miele C1 pure suction or Sebo k2 kombi since you only have rugs. You can always add a turbo floor head later if needed. See if you have a local dealer so you can test drive them before buying. Btw your wool rugs sheds like crazy because your Dyson was likely destroying it.

r/VacuumCleanersSEBO K3 vs K2?

Is it a low pile carpeted room? If so, get the K3. If it’s a few small rugs or a runner the K2 **turbo**should suffice. However - Any plans on moving in the next 20 years to “future proof” your purchase? There is nothing worse than buying a BIFL vacuum only to move somewhere with different flooring that your current vac can’t handle.

r/VacuumCleanersWhat is the best cordless vacuum cleaner for an insane amount of dog hair?

All wood floor - if the stairs are a low pile runner, you can do a Miele C1 turbo team, Sebo k2 turbo or Henry extra. If the stairs are anything other than low pile you may want to look at a Miele C1 cat and dog. With all that dog hair this might be the way to go tbh.

r/VacuumCleanersIn the market for a new vacuum, lots of pet hair!

For all hard floors and hair, you want a vacuum without a brushroll. Check out the Miele C1 pure suction, Sebo K2 kombi or Henry 160. And if you find it’s not working well on your carpet/rug you can always add the turbo head.
