"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"So many little design choices to make it easy to pull apart and clean or get to tight spots or even just manage the cable as you're moving around the house."
"the ability to lift off the canister and just use that is really useful."
"it can come apart in a canister configuration as well as upright."

"cleaning the brush roller often for the wife and dogs long hairs is very annoying and a bit gross"
"I really like the idea of the 2 rollers for the hair so it can’t tangle. HUGE problem in my household. lol."
"X20+ doesn't have anti-tangle features, so you will end up with the main brush full of hair after each cleaning session and you have to manually clean the brush after that."

"not knowing where it is half the time"
"My dreame l20 ultra clogs with pet hair. ... We have one golden retriever dog and it seems to not go back to the dock enough even on the highest setting to empty."

"About a year and the right bud would last about 15 minutes on a full charge."
"I've had them for a few years and now the battery doesn't last for more than 40 mins, so looking for a different model."
"An almost new pair I wore in a mountain 100 was dead after the race. ... It was all stretched out and even had a hole in the side when it wasn't that crazy technical of terrain."

"very heavy and cumbersome"
"That makes them clench down, and therefore makes them hard to push and pull on that type of carpet. ... it was very difficult to push on that carpet until I adjusted it."
"it ’s heavy, so it stays in the basement"

"I used it fairly gently for maybe a year or so then it bricked itself. ... It's just dead. ... Seems like poorly built garbage."
"The roller is always encased in my hair"
"I HATE the canister and how gross it gets"
I recently bought [this one](https://a.co/d/eDtaQf7) from Shark and it works great. I can't believe how cheap it is.
I use a shark navigator deluxe. It was $189 :) I have a cleaning business and have zero complaints and ALL my clients have pets. Other ways to manage pet hair: Dry dusting swiffer floor pads (thin and trap fur. You use them dry on a swiffer) Regular dusting from top to bottom before vacuuming Basic I know! :)
I love this Shark. I’ve had it for 5 years. It’s light weight, easy to empty, easy to clean, works on long hair pet fur. https://a.co/d/ixP5aFy I’ve had a more complex Shark, I don’t like those, heavier and harder to empty.
It has great suction, gets up fine dust/grime deep within carpet, check the reviews too, love it! It’s my all time fact vacuum, seriously
I used to love Eureka vacuums when I was younger due to the value. Got a Dyson around age 26 and it wasn't bad, but omg way overpriced plastic! I was so mad I dropped $600 on it. Next up a Bissel Pet vac 5 yrs ago at age 34 worked okay, but I got tired of how bulky it was and the brush never stopped spinning, even while using the attachments. So I went a grabbed a Shark NV360 online and I love how much suction this thing has and it brought up so much dirt. Best of all it has lift away canister I can take around house to clean with attachments. The only negative thing, is the suction is so good it gets stuck a bit on my area rugs. However, it has a suction adjustment on it somewhere I read about. I just haven't tried to adjust it yet. Anyways, I haven't tried a wireless vac either, I guess I'm old school.
I have \*serious\* allergies. I need to have a HEPA air purifier running 24/7. When I've used most vacuums, I end up coughing, sneezing, and wheezing. Even brand new ones cause this. Last year, I got a Shark Navigator Professional NV360, and it's been great. No coughing, sneezing, or wheezing. Consumer Reports rated it as one of the best vacuums for allergy sufferers. It's got a HEPA filter, and unlike other vacuums with HEPA filters, it seals the dust inside the vacuum instead of leaking it back into the room. You can detach the canister and use it like a hand vacuum. And it's the only upright in that Consumer Reports category that's under $200. Here's info from the Shark site. Lots of stores carry it. You may want additional upholstery attachments, however. I have a carpeted bedroom, and tile floors elsewhere. I have two recommendations for you. If you're ok with a bagged vacuum, I’d go with the Kenmore BU4050 [https://amzn.to/3ULrUBD](https://amzn.to/3ULrUBD) It has great suction on carpet, keeps dust sealed in HEPA bags, and comes with a powered pet tool that works well for hair on stairs and furniture. If you’d rather go bagless, the Shark Navigator [https://amzn.to/4mnnuwA](https://amzn.to/4mnnuwA) is my go to choice for under $200. It’s powerful, has a switch to go between hard floors and carpet, and the lift away canister makes it great for stairs and tight spots. Both work well for pet hair and carpet.
I agree with the elitism. And I'm a huge Shark fan. Have been for 15 years or so. My nv350 went on for 12 years....only died cause I dropped it down the stairs. I got two Sharks from Walmart on clearance, one for $85 (zu561) and one for $65 (nv360). Those two will probably last me the next 20 years. But I also have three cats and wanted to see what the hype was about. I found a two year old Sebo D4 Premium for basically $480. That is way more than I'd ever want to spend on a vacuum. I can afford it by all means but like you I could never justify it. The other side of me loves electronics and wanting the best of the best. And I do have to say.....the Sebo is incredible. Value is subjective so for me I do see a difference in the amount of dust and cat hair left over after a week of vacuuming with each. And the difference on carpet and what it pulls up. But its also a whole different ball game using a canister vacuum vs plugging in a vacuum and just going. Not having to worry about what suction level or head and attachment I'm using. So I do have some respect and awareness of the other side.
I found this comment looking for a replacement for my Shark navigator lift away lol It just died after maybe 4-5 years and it has been terrible at getting hair off our rug for about 2.5 years now. Replaced the roller brush and everything but it never improved. Loved it when we first got it! But now my partner hates it and wants to replace with something else.
https://a.co/d/iVCqVFQ I’ve got this shark one. I like it because I can disconnect the bottom when I vacuum the stairs. It’s bagless so major win since corgi hair is never ending and I can take the filter out and wash it in the sink.
you can find the nv360 on sale for $100, that would be the way to go. i am super allergenic, have a nv360, sebo k3, and roborock q revo. the nv360 with the power brush will get the job done. just clean it outside your apartment.
