I have an older version of the [Shark Duo cordless](https://www.sharkninja.com/shark-powerdetect-cordless-stick-vacuum/IP1251.html) and it is outstanding for both carpet and hard floors. I've had it at least 5-6 years now. The Duo brush system requires cleaning fairly regularly but outside of that, awesome cordless vacuum.

I'd go for the dual head, but I didn't want the auto empty canister because I didn't have a good place to keep it.

I have no idea how the brush roll does on hard floors by itself. I would do some research on that. I bought a refurbished powerdetect with the duo head on Ebay for $180, and I am verry happy with it. I really don't know how much the soft roll helps on hard floors, but I didn't want the auto empty because I don't have a good place for it.

I have the base PowerDetect (without the self empty), and I like it. It folds up nice and small so storing it is easy. I recommend it as well.

I have a Shark PowerDetect and like it for the most part. I just wish the accessories were better, but the cleaning power of the duo clean head is good.

It really depends on the price you can get each one for. I just picked up a refurbished PowerDetect cordless for $180 with a 2 year warranty. I also picked up a Narwal s20 recently as well. Combined, these two items are half the price of the V15s.

Out of those two, I'd go with the Shark Powerdetect. I just got one and I like it so far. Spare parts can be found for Shark vacuums, and prices drop for the replacement parts the longer the vacuum has been on the market. I don't have any flex in the hinge either. The hinge makes the vacuum fold up really small for easy storage, and it makes it really easy to vacuum under things. The other vacuum seems to be a generic brand so who knows how easily you will get support for it or if you can buy replacement parts when needed.

Top contenders: Henry Quick, Miele Duoflex or Triflex, Samsung Jet Bespoke AI, 85 or 75. LG A9 Cord Zero, Shark PowerDetect, Shark Vertex Pro. The Henry, Samsung Bespoke AI and Cord Zero A9 all feature a bagged mechanism of some kind which make them hygienically a step above the rest. The Henry is the only cordless that actually has a bag which is unique to this category.

I got a shark powerdetect and it’s a beast. Probably not BIFL but with proper maintenance it can last a long time I assume. But I’m stoked on how well it cleans everything

I bought a Shark Upright Liftaway in 2023 for my upstairs (I have a large house) and I liked it so much that when my main-level vac died I got a Shark "Powerdetect", description includes "with Powerful Suction for Pet Hair Pickup". These vacuum cleaners have the strongest suction I've ever seen and the ability to lift off the canister and just use that is really useful.

We have a Dyson V8, but recently moved and got a Shark PowerDetect and on balance the Shark is a better product that definitely feels more solidly built. The one thing that I’ll give the Dyson, though, is the it’s a lot lighter than the Shark, which makes extended cleaning sessions a bit easier. But otherwise I agree with everyone else in saying that the Shark is seemingly a better bet in the long run.

I've had a Shark Navigator Liftaway for the past 10ish years. Picked up a Shark Powerdetect Stuck vacuum.

Mattresses hide way more dust than folks think. Before I run anything specialized, I grab the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum since it switches into a small hand unit. That makes it simple to hit seams and edges without dragging stuff around.

Depends on what you need, carpets, pets, or all-around use. I tried a bunch, but the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum stood out because it handles both hard floors and rugs without needing to change heads. That made cleaning feel more seamless, especially when bouncing between tile kitchens and carpeted bedrooms in one go.
