"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."

"Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back."

"dustbin clogs of fur where there’s empty spaces on the side due to an inefficient dustbin design"
"One thing I’ll add is that it needs dust emptying much more frequently than other robots because its dust bin is smaller than typical."

"They were heavy as shit and super uncomfortable. ... I struggle to even put my Maxwells back on."
"The headband adjustability is poor. ... The ear cups are not deep enough at all. ... My ears were squished up against the drivers and I couldn’t wear them for more than a couple hours without my ears getting cherry red. ... The headset is somewhat tight on my head and no, I don’t have a big head. ... To try and make them more comfortable I bought third party ear cups. Wicked cushion had the deepest set and even then my ears still touch the drivers a little. ... For $300, I cannot honestly recommend these."
"Weight matters a lot. ... I agree they are soo heavily. ... Makes gaming long season long hard"
Shark Rocket Pro Deluxe. The maroon one. It’s easy and comfortable to use, and it’s a monster. Best thing for stairs (get the attachment) sand leaves no cat hair behind. A work friend recommended hers to me some years when I asked her about stairs. I bless her every time I used it. I have 2. I bought a third for the 3rd floor but I got the ultralight pet version. It’s ok but not as good. You can get for deep discounts on amazon. Keep watching. They ‘ll probably discount it soon for the holidays.

I think they have a new model now.. so hair won’t wrap in the roller part. I definitely would clog mine up and have to cut the hair off the roller after awhile - when I had 2 cats and 2 long haired dogs.

Shark rocket pet delux i use one at home & i have 4 cats i have another i use for my cleaning business which includes some industrial shop settings with some narly heavy dust. Even with heavy use i haven't been able to kill one & the little things i have broke were easy to repair. I always stick with the corded ones the battery ones are lacking in power. Edit im going on 4 years with the business one & i just replaced the filters it still works like new. I think I understand why you didn't like the Sebo K3. With the carpet powerhead it doesn't clean hard floors the best and it is an extra step to put on the parquet brush and switch back. Some people just don't like how corded canister vacuums manuever which is totally fair too. It's quite a difference from stick vacuum to canister. I agree and think you should check out the Kenmore Intuition. It's a small upright vacuum about the same width as a stick vacuum. It has swivel steering and liftaway mode. It has the added benefits of a hepa bag, a hose and tools, and it can stand upright. Downsides are a short hose and limited tool storage on board, there's only 2 spots and many models give you 3-4 tools. I also agree and I think you should look at a new corded Shark Rocket. I'm not a fan of Shark vacuums but if you find it works the best for you then that's the most important. The more expensive Sharks are less reliable because they have more parts and electronics that break. They have also made it harder to clean and repair their machines. But if you've been able to keep a Shark Rocket going for 8 years then you know how to keep it running. The more problematic Sharks are the ones with dual brushrolls and cordless vacuums. My prefernce would be a Sebo Felix, but that is bigger and heavier and it also has the extra steps of switching between powerhead and parquet brush. I like that I can take it apart and order the exact replacement parts. I think if you want something just like your old Shark Rocket check the Kenmore Intuition and a new corded Shark Rocket. Thoughts?
I would look for your exact model. If you still have it look for the information sticker near the motor and look for the model number. Otherwise, look for a standard brushroll; it cleans better than the blades, and it's more reliable than the duo clean brushrolls. The Shark Rocket Pro DLX HV371 looks like it has the standard brushroll and headlights. It might not last long so keep your receipt.
I have a shark rocket pro. It's a rechargeable stick vac with a detachable hand held. It's pretty powerful and comes with a crevice tool and brush. It's not very heavy either so I will pick it up and use the regular vacuum part on the couch, it has a bristle roller brush. You also have the option to turn the roller on and off so fur doesn't fly away when doing hard floors. I also use quilt type blankets to cover the couch so the fur doesn't get embedded and I can switch them out to wash. I've seen a lot of good reviews for a chom chom roller thing but I don't know how well it would do on embedded fur. The covers have made a huge difference. And if you don't like having them on all the time just take them off when guests come or when they aren't shedding as bad. I also have a eufy robot vac that I have set to run twice a day. I have hard floors throughout and not a huge house so it does an amazing job. It's crazy how much fur short hair pups can shed. And of course brushing whenever you can will obviously help some. I have an off brand furminater.
I love the rocket but the tank size is way too small for what we do. I have several monthly clients that all have large long hair dogs. In one house I have to empty my full size canister twice per room, it would be triple that with a rocket. For my home though rocket is the best. It’s also great for stairs because you can detach the center rod from both ends and attach just the head to the motor. Probably my favorite vacuum.
Very long answer: Every vacuum has their pros and cons, it’s really about your personal preference and needs. These are my opinions- please don’t come at me with pitchforks. Miele- I have never owned one but I have used them at clients homes. Pros- they last an incredibly long time. If you like bagged vacuums they have some pretty hefty bags that really trap fine dust. Very long cord, some models even have a retractable cord that winds up with a button, which is insanely helpful. Cons- they are expensive but if you’re having to replace vacuums often then it can pay for itself after a few years. It’s a bagged vacuum, the canister size and bag capacity couldn’t hold up to some of the houses I do. I have one client that I have to empty my canister vacuum twice in every room. You have to either manually empty the bags or replace them- which is an added expense. Look at the style, it’s not an upright vacuum, it’s a separate canister vacuum. I personally despise this style of vacuum, yes they have uprights but they are battery powered with a run time of about 60-90 minutes. Canister vacs like these are very difficult to maneuver, you have to pull it around like a resistant dog on a leash or if you are vacuuming out of a room you have to kick it behind you. It’s very difficult to do large sections of carpet, especially if you are trying to leave nice carpet tracks, because you have to deal with the vacuum head and the canister separately. Rainbow- they are very similar to the Miele. Pros- no bags. Its uses a canister of water for filtration which in principle I love. I think it has the absolute best filtration method of any vacuum. Cons- all of the cons I listed with Miele. However you don’t have to replace the bags, but you do have to empty, clean and refill the water reservoir constantly, usually after every room. I really don’t recommend using them for a house with stairs- huge pain. Kirby- Pros- ? Um great warranty? Good if you skip the gym and need to do some strength training? Really good sales people/ pitch. I was almost tempted to get one even though I can’t stand them. Cons- expensive, heavy, loud. No attached hose. You have to use it like a transformer toy every time you want to use the attachments. Belt driven, and the belts are a pain to change. Dyson- Pros- They last a decent amount of time, not too heavy or bulky. No bags. Pretty good filtration. Have all of the attachments on the vacuum. Most vacuum repair shops will work on them and they have a decent warranty. Personally I really like the older dc models without the ball, but they are hard to find. Cons- expensive. The newer models have a very wide vac head track. It can be a good thing if you are doing a large open area, but it’s way too wide to get into tight spaces. The suction. It has very strong suction which should be a good thing but on the newer models you can’t adjust it. You need 2 people to move it across high pile carpet. I consider myself to be decently strong and it really hurts to use it because of the suction, unless I’m only using it on hard surfaces. Sharks- Pros- large variety of styles. Good suction, but it can lose suction if you don’t change the filters often. Prices range from $150-400. The lift away models are great for stairs and getting to very high up areas. Lightweight. Not very loud until they start to get older. Ok warranty 2-5 years. Overall not a bad vacuum if you take care of it. Cons- I’ve never used a warranty on them because they usually die at the end of it. However I am using them on 2-3+ houses a day, 5-6 days a week. I really run them into the ground. Like everything they are being built with cheaper and cheaper materials. I really wish they would stop trying to come out with new features and just stick with a good solid design. Over the years there have models that I loved but then they discontinued them. Nobody will work on them, and if you find someone who will, it’s usually cheaper to just buy a new one. Oreck- Pros- variety of styles including canister style like Miele. Super suction- the commercial that showed it picking up a bowling ball is no joke. But because of the suction they can be very difficult on high pile carpet. Decent price. The uprights are pretty light. Good warranty and every vacuum repair shop will fix them. Because they are very light they are actually ok on stairs. Cons- I’m not a fan of bagged vacuums. The uprights don’t have a hose. It’s belt driven and the belts break often. Hoovers and Bissell- Pros- inexpensive. Been around for a long time, so people must like them? Cons- they are just kind of meh. Poor suction. I’ve cleaned clients carpet with them and then vacuumed again with my shark and can pick up a whole canister of dirt and hair. Hair wrap. Every vacuum has the problem no matter what they try to do but Hoovers and Bissels are the worst. Loud, bulky and clunky. Difficult to get into tight spaces, forget trying to use them on stairs. Sorry for the long response and hopefully this helps.
Corded shark rocket works for us.
We have a shark rocket, corded. It's got more power than you would believe. You see everything it gets because clear canister no bags. I would not get a cordless.
Shark Rocket is my go to.
This. My Shark corded Rocket? I think it amazing. I have a house that eats vacuums. I’ve had my Shark for years now.
Yep. I hated my cordless Dyson. I couldn’t even get through the living room because I have cats and used the deep clean setting and went slow to get all the hair. It would die after 15 minutes. I bought a corded Shark Rocket and love it as much as one can love a vacuum. The cord is super long so it’s not an unplug/plug situation.
Where to begin. Well it all started 8 years ago with a shark rocket I bought at a pawn shop that changed my life. It was light weight and had the most insane edge to edge suction. You know those cobwebs in the corners of your floors? Yeah it got those. Well it started smelling like burnt rubber so I set out to buy a new vacuum. I bought a sebo and hated it. Hated lugging it around and honestly even with a motorized head (k3) the edge to edge suction was nothing like my old corded rocket. Then I bought my first battery operated stick vacuum the BISSELL PowerClean FurGuard Deluxe 280W Cordless Vacuum. Wow. Battery dies in 10 minutes out of the box. Light is really nice but the suction is still subpar! Wtf!!!!!!! Why can’t I just find an effing vacuum??!?! 2 story home, mostly hardwood and tile, some big area rugs, pets. I didn’t think I required much but shoot I want crazy suction power i guess. Please help
I still love mine, I use it at my brick and mortar now.
