Shark - UV725 Navigator Lift-Away with Self Cleaning Brushroll Upright Vacuum

I’m a house cleaner and I swear by shark vacuums. I’ve had many of my clients drop the higher end vacuums for a shark. I clean 10+ houses a week and if I take care of it,[this vaccum](https://amzn.to/4kZd2LV) will last me over 1.5 years. As you can imagine, I do a lot of vacuuming so I’m on my 3rd one but for just basic everyday use and making sure you maintain it (wash/replace the filters), I think it will last you a good while.

Yeah, I’ve heard bagged vacuums tend to last a good while but I’m not interested in constantly buying bags. Some of my houses have an insane amount of dog hair. On top of that, you can’t see how much hair its collecting and with my luck, I’d burn the motor up. It’s just personal preference and it’s not for me. But since OP just needs a personal vaccum for their own home, that vacuum should last them a good while.

I have a Shark Navigator with Self-Cleaning Brush Roll. I have long hair that gets everywhere. Have had this vacuum for 5+ years, and have never had to clean the brush. It's only about $200.

Well,I did it. I walked into a vacuum cleaner store and repair shop just to see this Sebo upright people refer to. I had already ordered a Kenmore BU4050 based on reviews although I have never seen one. I've been through every vacuum type imaginable in the last - ahem - 40 years. Starting with Electrolux canister on glider rails, a family hand-me-down. Dirt Devil tiny little canister. Hoover upright, Sanitaire commercial upright, Miele stick vac with removable handheld dustbuster thing, Miele canister. Had a Dyson V5 for when the canister was too heavy to pull out. Shark Navigator Pet upright - nimble, easy to use, went under bed - I liked it for a long time but slider for floor type change got stuck and it all those plastic parts got a little rickety. I learned: While cordless is quick and easy, it's also weak suction. Sanitair upright cleaned well on carpet but no accessories. Dysons are pretty colored plastic but all marketing, hurts my wrist, went through 2 batteries, just top heavy, and poor suction. Miele corded stick vacuum had very strong suction but was too heavy and center of mass is midway up so awkward unless you are very strong and was not self standing. Miele canister is great but all those accessories take up a lot of space and I'm over moving canisters around and banging the wall. Bagless was good as a novelty but so messy - the vacuum itself attracted dust and emptying always led to some dust on me. So I wanted a bagged, corded, self-standing, upright that had a low center of gravity, was nimble, no too heavy, and could go under the bed. Even though the sales guy was enthusiastic and informative but not pushy, the Sebo Felix sold itself. I bought the Sebo Felix even though I wasn't going there to buy, just see it. It does every thing I want and is much quieter. 10 year warranty, locally serviced by "Onyx" dealer \[that's what they call official dealers\], give loaner vacs if it takes more than 3 days. The store has been there 26 years, first the father and now the son owns it. They repair every brand of vacuum but only sell Sebo, Miele, and some in-the-wall systems. When I think of all the money I've spend on vacuums .... The good ones were Electrolux, Miele, Sanitaire, and for a while the Shark impressed me. Now I hope the Sebo will be my last vacuum. $700 US, price goes up $200 on September 25 due to tariffs. Dealer said he's sold 17 of them this month from special orders I will return the Kenmore BU4050 unopened when it arrives.

I found myself purchasing a new vacuum about every 2 years. Then I purchased a Dyson pet , and it was great. Had a 5-year warranty, and promptly lost suction at the 6-year mark. It was the best vacuum for the almost 6 years I had it. Now I have a Shark, an apartment vacuum because it is mostly for bare floors, but the cord is short. Have had it for 2 years now. I would take advice of the professional cleaner - the porta-vac.

Yup Shark Navigator Pet is my go to cleaner. I use it a lot (commercially) so usually buy a new one every year or so. It’s a great value machine and every bit as good as a Dyson. Also, the brush roller never gets clogged!

I vacuum for someone who has 3 shorthair dogs, 1 long hair dog and one that sheds year round. 4 of these dogs are huge and one is a shitzu. I use their Shark Extreme or something like that. It's bagless and has a big cup. I think it cost them 2 to 300 dollars. The last one they had I used for over a year before it said, "enough", and died. So a shark bagless for that amount. It has really good suction when the cup isn't full.

I have the Shark Performance Lift-away. Best purchase that I ever made. I wish that I would have made the investment much sooner in life. It was gross to see how little my previous vacuum(s) was doing. It took probably 5 separate vacuuming sessions before I got everything up. It was less and less each time, but it was a lot lol.
