Yes I’d definitely avoid cordless/bagless. They’re junk for the most part. What kind of budget are we talking? A Simplicity Jill is a great budget option if your rugs are very low pile. You can always add a wessel werk TK286 if you need more cleaning power for the rugs. Check out a Miele C1 pure suction or turbo team as well.
Yep - simplicity Jill, and there is extra budget left over for the wessel werk turbo attachment if you need better agitation on your rugs.
Yep you’re on the right track. If you can get the carpet out first, you could do a simplicity Jill (it’s better built than the mighty mite) neither of these will do carpet well. Or if not grab a Kenmore 200/400 series.
IMO yes return it. You have 100% hard floors? No rugs? In that same budget Grab a simplicity Jill. It will do blinds and baseboards better than an upright. Plus it has no brushroll for debris to get caught on. Which is ideal for 100% hard floors and fur.
Miele C1 pure suction. Short of that, simplicity Jill.
For your small space with no carpet, I actually would recommend the Simplicity Jill. It's essentially the same thing as a Bissell Zing, but with much higher quality accessories and HEPA filtration. We LOVE to recommend Miele here, but a Miele would honestly be overkill for your use case. I do, however, think a canister is the right form factor for your situation.
Trash all of them, none of those are good vacuums (except the Miele). Also look into the Simplicity Jill, Henry 160 and Sebo K2.
Then the Jill is a great pick!
If you have hardfloors, you don't want a brushroll at all. Look into the Simplicity Jill, it will handle your home much better. Pair it with a TK286 turbo brush for your carpet, assuming it's not too thick.
1. Bagless is a mistake 2. Cheap bagless is foolish 3. You can get a great bagged vac with Simplicity starting at 169 for the Jill Or 269 EZM60 Bagless vacuums are not BFL.
A Miele C1 is excellent, but a Simplicity Jill and upgrading floor head to a Wessel Werk RD285 Designation is a crazy good value. It’s not going to be as quiet or maneuver quite as nice as the Miele, but yah if you want to save some cash it’s a great setup for your home.
None. They’ll all do fine at first but you’ll have the same cat litter issue if you’re using a roller. Get a simplicity Jill. It’ll work better and last longer and it’s under 200.
Since you have all hard floors and rug that needs to vacuumed without a beater bar a canister vacuum would do well. It will clean both and not damage the rug. A Simplicity Jill $179 is a good canister vacuum. The Bissell Zing Bagged $79 is a cheaper version of the Jill. I prefer the better hose and tools on the Jill and I think it’s worth it, but the Zing is one of the cheapest options. I really like the Powr-Flite Newton $169. This is a canister vacuum that is a copy-cat of Henry vacuums. It is powerful but quiet. It comes with 1 less tool than the Jill but you get a longer cord and it uses bigger bags. I’d choose the Newton because it’s quieter.
No, but longer than you think. I had a Kirby salesman come by once, he did get some dirt behind the Simplicity canister I'd been using - but then my old Kirby got dirt behind his. Not a lot, but some.
