"I just bought an Elgato Facecam MK.2 for $109 and it’s fantastic for the price. ... Just slightly over your budget but well worth it for the customization/LUT software alone, not to mention the actual quality of the camera you’re getting for the price."

"Good in low and bright light."

"Good color accuracy."

"the mk.2 is 1080p @ 60fps. But on Twitch the highest quality you can stream at (as of right now) is 1080p @ 60fps."

"And that is a 1080p60 cam"

"In my testing the Elgato out of the box was significantly worse as far as colors and light than the others ... the Elgato Facecam MK.2 still looked worse and less natural than the Obsbot Meet 2 did straight out of the box for me (for the same price)"

"I couldnt get the facecam to not look washed out.."

"the Elgato Facecam MK.2 was a disaster to setup in OBS with a green screen and pretty good lighting.. I tried and tried and tweaked and still couldnt get it right."

"That camera physically looked high quality and sucked in OBS.. I tried to tweak it for hours with little luck."

I'm a fan of the Elgato Facecam. I've had both the Mk 1 and Mk 2, and love them both. Software is good but not perfect. Good in low and bright light. Good color accuracy. Ability to utilize LUTs if you want.

Elgato Facecam $90 amazon (original not the mk2) I set it up once and even a year later after reinstalling windows it didn't change because settings save on camera. I had a few Logitech and constant fight to keep my settings even when using Logitech software

No, Facecam (2021) will not be getting a firmware update as the product has been end of life for a couple of years.

I HIGHLY recommend the Elgato Facecam. I have the OG and it has been perfect save for a few occasional freezes. Elgato products are generally perfect for me

I have the Elgato Facecam (the first one so she chunky) and absolutely love it! If she dies I'll buy the newer version of the facecam. Did a lot of research before buying and at the time about 4 years ago this one was the best option for me.

Unless this is a hobby that you enjoy throwing money at, a better camera won’t make a huge difference. Focus on your content and lighting. Lighting helps ALMOST any shitty camera look amazing. Webcam quality in 2020 is way better than it was in 2008. Only If you’re making money from streaming, such that your profits can pay for a new camera, that’s the only time I’d recommend upgrading your camera beyond a Logitech Brio. But even this elgato face cam is good enough

I stream with 1st gen Elgato Facecam (1080p max) and it's pretty good for a webcam. It wasn't cheap, but still much more affordable than a full size camera with large lens. I use it in a very low light environment and as long as I keep it at 30 fps it handles it well. The new gen of Facecam (4K) is even better in low light, according to reviews. It has no microphone though, but getting a standalone cheap USB microphone will give better sound quality than the one on a webcam anyway and you want the mic to sound good, more than the camera to look good... Unless your stream is focused on you a lot, in which case you'll want a full size camera instead of a webcam.

I have the original El Gato Facecam and I think it looks great but I also use 2 ring lights mostly because I rather have 2 soft lights on my sides rather than 1 really bright light on my front

Would be awesome if Switch 2 compatibility could still come to the regular Elgato Facecam🙏

Funny how the Facecam (2021) is suddenly 'end of life for years' when it got a firmware update just two years ago and isn't even listed as legacy. Guess it’s only EOL when it’s inconvenient... Come on, give us Switch 2 support!

Oh, now the Facecam (2021) magically appears under legacy/EOL right after I mention it… instead of just being honest from the start?

I have a 922 Pro, it's 1080p30, so not a 60 fps cam if you need to be in 1080p. I also hate it, it's hard to get the colors right, even in good light. For now I am only using it as a top down cam, and not my main cam. For my main can I use an Elgato Facecam MK.2. And that is a 1080p60 cam, and the colors are much better. But to be honest, for a relatively cheap, and good webcam, with 4k30/1080p/60, I would have a look at the OBSBOT Meet 2. You can also get the OBSBOT Meet SE, at 1080p/100fps if you don't need the 4k resolution, for an even cheaper price.

Still, that will not change it's bad image quality when it comes to colors. It wash out almost anything. The OBSBOT Meet SE I mentioned is £80, and is a far superior camera for not that much more money. And that is a 150fps cam if you only want a 720p resolution. Or 100fps in 1080p.
