My Switch 2 set up is roughly 18 feet from my television, which makes Nintendo’s default camera nearly unusable due to the distance. I have seen others ask the same question about what camera to use for long distance and I can confirm that 4K cameras that work are much better than Nintendo’s 1080p camera. You can see a noticeable difference when you zoom in. I’m using the EMEET C950 4K Webcam (8MP) from this list. I would assume that a compatible 4K WebCam at a higher megapixel would work even better. I would be very interested to see what others discover. TL;DR 4K cameras work better for long distance shots.

I tried two more cameras. I also got the Cheap $10 Toucan and it works fine for me (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDK5WRDZ?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title&th=1). They have apparently found out they are popular with switch people and the price has gone up to $16. LOL I also tried the $34 EMEET C950 4K Webcam and it works fine as well. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7VD5SMS?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title&th=1). This is a 4k webcam which I bought before I saw this post and I assumed it wouldn't work based on all other 4k webcams failing. It does however work fine with autofocus and everything. Honestly the picture on this one is much better than the other web cams I have tried and I would recommend it. I'm not sure there is any 4k getting into the system. On the camera test page it looks like 720p (?) max? So higher resolutions may not matter. If I get time later this week I might write up a review with some pictures.

r/elgatoIs Elgato Facecam Pro after 3 years of release still worth it?

I bought the FCP about 6 months ago and love it. Yes, it produces a somewhat grainy image in low light, but what camera doesn't? I am new to streaming/video producing, but not to photography. The image quality in normal lighting is very good, and I think the features through the Camera Hub software are great. For a second POV, I use an inexpensive Emeet 4K webcam. Changing filter might be nice, but so far unnecessary. The Facecam 4K might do the trick at a lower cost, but I don't have a side-by-side comparison. I have no regrets with the FCP.
