Razer - Kiyo Pro Ultra

Negative. Not sure how razer's software works on mac but it should be OK

if you can find a deal on one, razer kiyo pro or razer kiyo pro ultra. plug and play, works super well with OBS. Razer software can be annoying but you can uninstall that if you want.

this was an excellent video, I bought the kiyo after watching. the breadth of comparison was extremely helpful. keep up the quality and I'm sure you'll break a huge YT audience after a while. cheers!

Having used the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, I would strongly advise going with Logitech. The first Kiyo I received could not focus with even the slightest movement in front of it. There is no way to change the aperture to go to f5 6 or f8, so the design of field is extremely narrow and the focus is not fast enough for that aperture. I RMAd it and the second one they sent does not work AT ALL (the aperture blades are locked closed). Razer refused to replace it even though it is very clearly defective. I've never had any issues with Logitech.

I haven't used many, so I can't really comment. I've generally been happy with my Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra, though I wish it had better autofocus.

Post was too long, had to split it. **Best Cameras** Pretty sure the best camera you can get would be some sort of high end DSLR Camera that supports a high frame-rate and can be used as a webcam. I don't have any suggestions there, but if you're looking for the best, start looking in that direction. Another really solid option is using an old cell-phone and hooking it up to your computer. The cameras on those are great, and tend to be way better than needed for a good foip experience. As for my pick... The c922 is just fine, but I'm personally planning on trying the Brio 4k, since it supports 90 fps at 720p with the fov adjustments. It can be picked up for like $60-70 on ebay used. The MX Brio or the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is what I would go with if I intended to play in a low light setting due to supporting 60 fps and having very large sensors. (They're a lot more expensive though.)

Yeah as nice as a dslr would be for this if I’m using it strictly as a webcam I’d much prefer to have razers softward to control it and have it just work when I open OBS

Depending on your use-case either could work for you. The Pro Ultra will very likely have much better visual clarity and low light performance if that's something you need since the sensor is noticeably larger. 1/1.2” Sony STARVIS 2 for the Pro Ultra, vs 1/2.8” Sony STARVIS for the v2 (note that the smaller number 1.2 actually corresponds to a larger sensor, which directly results in a brighter and sharper picture with far less graininess, especially when the lighting isn't perfect) From what I see, the Kiyo v2 tries to bridge the gap with AI. They say they partnered with Reincubate Camo Studio. presumably that would be integrated into synapse or they'll give you a license for the software. We'll have to wait for actual reviews to see how well that performs, but either way the 'raw' data from the camera will still be better with the Pro Ultra.
