"I haven't run into any of those issues with the RT-AX58U and RT-AC3100. ... We live in a old flat with long hallways and bedrooms far apart and a couple of Asus routers working in tandem through the use of MOCA boxes in a mesh setup allows for perfect wifi."

Awesome guide! I'm using Q3 with asus rt-ax59u (PC: 5700x3d, 4080S), and it runs GREAT. Stable connection with 600-750mbps bitrate on AL.
Bummer to hear. I haven't run into any of those issues with the RT-AX58U and RT-AC3100.
Simply can't beat Asus. Had them for years as well and they work flawlessly.
Motorola MB8611 modem and Asus RT-AX58U router. Both of these are fully compatible with Comcast.
I prefer routers with openWRT support to migrate if official firmware support ends. I use ASUS TUF AX4200 and RT-AX59u for standard usage and asus tuf ax6000 if more speed or power is required (like thick walls and NAS).
Yes, I have. It was just a phone call to the call center, asking them to configure their router. They understood right away what I wanted and did it remotely.
Asus RT-AX58U. Comes with a great app. Rock solid. Easy to use. Has everything you need. Within your budget. Ask chatgpt if you need a second opinion.
Asus here too. Using RT-AX58U (I bought this years ago) … good software in this. I have it reboot once a week at night and I don’t use the QoS (quality of service) option, because I think it’s sucks. I rather manage my bandwidth on a per device basis, but anyway. Asus works for me for the last 15 years …
Asus ax59u. Did not have any problem with that router in ap mode.
ANY Wi-Fi 6 or better router should work well for you. I would get one that supports Mesh anyway. I would get at least a tri-band. (2.4ghz & two 5ghz) This would give you a dedicated 5ghz for the mesh it needed. Something with a 2.5Gb Ethernet port would be best too( say for a hardwired nas). Upgrade all your clients as convenient to WiFi 6 802.11ax as well. Some things won't upgrade but most PCs including laptops will. M 2 wifi cards are cheap. As are pcie cards. You will get a nice boost from this. The WIFI 6 devices paired with the WIFI 6 router will be faster AND free more bandwidth for the things you can't upgrade making them "faster" too. If you have 802.11ac devices some of them may require a bios upgrade to be compatible with the AX router. Some things won't have the bios upgrade (looking at you early google nest cameras) and will refuse to connect. Those things you should just replace with something newer. As you have been using something that old, I am presuming you have no dead spots. Ask your family!! Use a WIFI measuring tool. Free Android apps abound. If you have a raised foundation (basement/crawlspace) wired connections are "easy" at least for first/ground floor. I have an ASUS GT-AX11000 but had to add mesh nodes both RT-AX58U wired backhaul. My house is antique but not large BUT grew via remodels. So stucco in the walls and lead paint. The are tons of brands that will do. I standardized on ASUS $$. Ubiquity is very nice but more high end $$$. 6E or 7 will probably only buy you faster backhaul for mesh/access points. And you are probably constrained by your ISP unless you want to pay $$$. So the TV behind the protruding fireplace in the sunroom/family room had no chance.
I have some Asus RT-AX58u and lately I bought a MikroTik wAP AX It can be powered over PoE and the build quality looks really good. The device even has a second 1Gb Ethernet port if you need to plus another device on it. And the device enclosure is rated for outside use.
i right now have an ASUS RT-AX58U And its okay but i might buy this router that you recommended
I right now have xfinity and its a 1 gig plan but my ASUS RT-AX58U its only getting 500 mbps but if i connect to my xfinity modem i get 1100 mbps so i need a router that can handle these speeds for an 3,064 square feet house feel free to share links of wifi 6e or 7 routers
