"For Ultras I run with one in ear + one in pocket, and swap when the battery goes flat. For 10+ hour events I will carry the case and charge on the go ... turn off the PowerBeats HRM and increase battery life"

"I got the Powerbeats 2 but they sound rubbish, worst than the fits pro which are much older. ... Unacceptable for the price."
"they took a step back in sound quality imo ... a lot of people think fit pro sounds better and I agree ... I’ve tested both back to back."
"they have the classic tin can sound that some beats have."

"None of them work! ... I bought PB2 eBay. No charge ... 2 PB brand new believe it or not. One worked one didn’t. ... I actually purchased them brand new believe it or not off of eBay. They were new sealed in the box never opened"
"Man I love those things but the charging gets all jacked up. If they aren’t sitting perfectly they won’t charge."
Had the beats fit prosand really enjoyed them. Got the power beats 2 and I like them more. As they don’t fall out when I’m randomly moving about Or if I take off my shirt. Also it probably won’t work well but like how i can probably take these snowboarding and listen to music with out fear of it falling out like beats fit pro. I don’t care too much about sound quality bc everything sounds muddy compared to my work headphones. And imo th beats fit pro sound similar to the powebeats 2. It just really depends on your use case and I prefer the security for gym, running and possibly other sports
what are the shokz like in terms of being on video conference and phonecalls? I've found the powerbeats 2's terrible in these contexts - people often can't hear what i'm saying and i don't know whether it's a software thing on google meet or the micrphones on the powerbeats...
None of them work! I bought 3 flex from ATT last month. All did not charge. I bought PB2 eBay. No charge and 2 PB brand new believe it or not. One worked one didn’t.
I actually purchased them brand new believe it or not off of eBay. They were new sealed in the box never opened the flex were brand new from ATT
Get something with a clip, like the Beats Powerbeats 2, or the Moondrop Pill.
Here is my two cents. I run a lot and tried various options over the pas two years. I need good sound and something that holds. I do not care about other functionalities. Did 3 years on beats fit pro, but my two pairs gave away more or less at the same time. I liked them but they hurt after couple of hours. I got the Powerbeats 2 but they sound rubbish, worst than the fits pro which are much older. Unacceptable for the price. I tried nothing open ears. Sound great, hold great, but loose too much of the sound for my taste. I tried shocks, I can understand why people love them, but sound quality is not good enough for me. I now run on Sony fit buds. These are half the price, offer the best sound and best hold I’ve seen so far. The transparency is good enough for sports if you care. ANC is good enough. They aren’t great for calls, but again I don’t call with them. Hope this helps.
love my powerbeats 2. noise cancelling is really good, transparent is good, and great for working out without them falling off
I have Powerbeats 2 & 3, beat fit pro, Powerbeats pro (x2), AirPod Pro 1 & 2 and an old pair of beat solo 2 I’ve spent my fair share and this doesn’t count all the versions I have given as gifts. Just got the Powerbeats Pro2 yesterday (as a gift) and as I sit here typing this I’m also thinking how can I tell my gf that they suck and I want to return and just get another pair of AirPod Pro2. It’s funny Apple states same chip but yet PBP2 have less features than AirPod Pro2. Isn’t hearing loss still important? And I’m sorry but as weird as this sounds the AirPod pro2 sounds better. The shape is not great either. The first gen fit great shape wise. They seemed to lock into the shape of my ear and they stayed put. These don’t move around (yet) but they feel loose and for some reason when playing a song they keep stopping. I’ve triple checked and my phone screen is facing outward. A quick press of the button and song picks up where it stopped but three times while playing one song. Again phone in loose shorts side pocket screen outward. I looked forward to these because I liked the thought of the heart sensor built in but very disappointed.
A year ago I bought the first powerbeats, I returned them a week later because they just were so underwhelming for the price point and they have the classic tin can sound that some beats have. When the 2s came out I thought maybe they had fixed all the problems and made a better product for the price point, i returned those aswell because they were somehow worse than the first ones. Very disappointing since I can only really wear earbuds with hooks and though these would be a premium option. I switched over to open earbuds and haven't looked back since.
That's my fault I completely forgetting to name the nothings aswell. Have also not tried them but again the reviews on those and the price point I wouldn't hesitate to try them out. And I myself just bought the shokz opendots 2 though they are on the pricier side those go for 200$.
I used to think like that too, totally with the idea of the small case small form factor for everyday use but the powerbears hit different, the first couple of days when i got the first powerbeats it wasn't fun to fiddle with the hook but then it became a second nature i don't even think about it and i got it for the gym nothing more because the buds that i had back then were falling out of my ears everytime. The second i got used to it i started using it daily not giving a shit about the case size cause they eere that good and loud, then i got the fit pro it was the same thing fiddle with the hook get used to it but now the ANC is an extra plus on top of all the good things about the powerbeats just the noise level is a bit quieter. Now the powerbeats 2is a different story i love it, it's almost the same thing as the powerbeats one but has ANC I don't really care about the heart rate monitor i have my watch to do that. I. Short the powerbeats 2 is in my opinion the best out of all of them eventho i hate the look of it but who cares once you put them on. You have to try it for couple of days to get used to it.
I tend to lean on ones with loops that go over the ear because my ear holes are small, too. I struggle with buds because they tend to fall out. Last gen Powerbeats work pretty good although they’re noise isolating not noise cancelling, but I hear the current gen is noise cancelling. Epic Air Sport by JLab is pretty good and are noise cancelling I have QC ultras but don’t like the bud format. You may want to look at the new Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. I don’t own them and they’re not noise cancelling but they’re more like an ear cuff and obviate the conversation about ear opening size
