"They were both sensitive to how they were worn and I couldn’t get them situated for a solid fit without ears. ... It’s because there’s no up or down, in or out rotation with them."

OP said ANC is a must... You're clowning. I have a set of Openfit 2 and they're great, but they are the literal opposite of noise cancelling. (Sure the upcoming "Pro" is supposed to have some kind of ANC, but I haven't seen those in the wild and whether it works well is an "open" question.)
I’m gonna say something controversial. After trying the Shockz 1 and thinking they weren’t loud enough and then again trying the 2s and having the same issue. I have given up on them. I honestly just bought two cheap pairs of Tozo open ear headphones from Amazon and I love them. They are incredibly comfortable, and quite a bit louder. The louder volume was specially useful for those of you that are into podcasts. Or if part of your run is down bus streets. You can still hear everything outside of you very well but having the option to higher volume is great. I’ve used these for several 50ks and 100ks. Hope this helps!
Open Fit 2-Shokz. Over the ear n still loud. For me the best sounding n best noise cancelling mic
Shokz open fit 2 are decent
Big difference. Open run is bone conducting n open fit 2 is over the ear. The mic on the open fit for me is much much better with noise cancelling. Both don’t go in your ears so plus for 8hr work day n the open fit 2 lasts almost all day talking n listening to music etc. open for 2 are much better for phone use imho. I have both n some soundcore models as well. I’ve tried many many different brands
Mainly the Openfit 2. The Openfit 2 are very light but the aero fit looks like they might be heavier.
Shokz Open Dot Runs or OpenFit 2’s are my new favorites. I don’t care for ANC and I really like the comfort. Otherwise I use AirPod Pro 2s or the Skullcandy Method 360’s for in ear.
Shokz OpenFit 2 would be my recommendation. They don’t fit in the ear but sit on the ear. Get pretty loud and very secure when running. They are very comfortable and even no issues laying on them. I would also say look into the opendots but they will be above your $200 after tax, but go for $199 If you have a Best Buy near you, they should have them on display to try as they don’t go in your ear.
I recommend looking into Shokz OpenFit 2. They are on ear earbuds. The hook will keep them secure and they are very light. Due to the on ear style they barely give any ear fatigue.
I can't use any headphones while running that do not have a strap going around my head or my ears. Currently I use Shokz 2 for running because I like that I can hear outside noise with them. They're great and I would recommend them.
I vehemently disagree with your call quality rating. Open dots sound like a reverb far away hall way with no lower tones and thr aero line both clip and fit2 sound way more professional and office acceptable.
I've had Shokz OpenSwim (because I also swim) and absolutely love them, but I did just buy the more 'earbud' style Shokz OpenFit2 and I'm really excited to try those too. The OpenSwim have been great but don't work with my headband that I need now to keep my ears warm in winter.
I wish you could buy a legit sounding pair of hook style ear buds because I can't wear conventional ear buds because they never stay in, p.s I have a pair of Shokz Open Fit 2 which imo are the best open fit buds and they sound great, I just want ones that actually go in my ear.
I have the Shokz Openfit 2 and I love them especially considering I can't wear normal ear buds because they always fall out and I get ear fatigue after about 30 minutes. Also Shokz make the Opendots One which are supposed to sound even better but they are not available on Amazon UK just yet.
I have the OpenFit 2 set which aren't connected and wrap around your ears. They are FANTASTIC. kind of pricey but I got a bonus earlier this year and splurged. Highly recommend them though. I don't even feel them.
Not having something stuck in your ear is amazing. I use the shokz openfit2 for workouts and runs. They stay put and, so far, the sound quality is decent.
